5 STARS - Veggies, Fruit, and Dairy. 4 STARS - Everything else. (meat not included in rating, Im vegetarian) After a year of comparisions I have come to the conclusion this is the best small-name grocery store in Detroit.The organic produce is amazing. (it is hard to find decent veggies in Detroit) It is cheap and tastes good, and lasts a decent amount of time. Also you can get farm fresh milk in a reusable/recycable container, in addition to regular milk. Surprisingly there is also vegan friendly "dairy". The only down side is the store is physically small so they do not have a lot of room to offer large variety. One type of light bulb (no EF products available), one type of cat food, and no overly specific/unique foods. So if you are doing run of the mill grocery shopping and live in Detroit this is store to do it in. If you are having an important party (or whatever) and need not-run-of-the-mill stuff, I would just go the distance to get to Meijer.

Decent grocery store for basic needs. No specialty items, which is fine. Prices are ok. This is the closest grocery store to me, so I shopped here mostly out of convenience. Unfortunately, I will not be returning due to an experience that I had recently. I was repeatedly harassed and violently threatened by another customer, an older and much larger man, in the check-out line. The employees, which there were at least 3 of present, AND the security guard did absolutely nothing to address this problem at all. I spoke to the manager later and he was apologetic but didnt really seem to care very much and offered no compensation. I do not feel safe shopping here and wont be back. Watch your back!

I have been coming to this wonderful grocery store for the last five years. This particular grocery is my one stop shop, it has everything a consumer could ever want all wrap in one. The staff there is the nicest staff i have ever come in contact with. Also this grocery store has many additions including an pharmacy with great ethics and great consumer services. Last but not least, there Deli has the best food in the area and there catfish dinner are the best in the city. In conclusion, when you come to Lafayette foods they treat you like family.

The beer is pretty expensive and the produce will expire quickly once you get it home, but it gets the job done if you need some last-minute groceries. Employees are all very friendly!

Basic needs. Fairly clean. Friendly staff. Didnt have Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. Much disappointment. They do have spartan brand if youre a settler.
