From what I seen. I liked what they had for fish and especially the corals. They had good prices. From experience with people that complain about a store with fish getting ick and algae blooms in a tank and blah blah blah.. Listen, I am 100% sure that these people that buy a fish or coral without doing their research of what works for a tank. Is the reason for their fish getting ick or dying. Probably putting a Copper band butterfly fish in a tank with no aiptasia or a Queen Angel in a 30 gallon tank with 5lbs of live rock. It does not work. You want proof their stuff is healthy. They had giant clam species. They were ALL healthy and happy. Anyone that knows signs of good water quality. That is a great place to start for your detective work. Same with their SPS and LPS. ALL the zoanthids were open and healthy. Algae blooms happen as much as we dont want them to happen. Take this to the bank from a guy who does a 40% water change every week. Maybe they are like me and care not to use chemicals and go the natural way about it. You dont know and I dont know, but being experienced care takers they probably are going the natural way about it, because sooner or later the problem will be solved. Also 99% of people dont know that some fish actually thrive better in a gunky tank. Especially most freshwater fish. As far as the animals in fish tanks. Well that part I did not see. As far as malnutrition. When you go to bash a store for it. Did you ever think that they just got the animal in? Did you think that they actually might be healthy and you over feed them, because they are so cute and will eat anytime you offer? FAT AND OVER FED IS NOT HEALTHY NOR A DIET! As far as the owner goes. Good guy. He knows how to care for marine life. I would also like to say thank you for taking the time to talk to me for an hour and a half about what you had and what would work for a tank like mine.

I purchased my tank equipment from this retailer since I wanted to support a local store with knowledgeable personnel. Unfortunately, while they are knowledgeable, they will still sell you the incorrect product for your setup. When I made my purchase I spoke with the retailer and described the tank I wanted to set up, a 20g long planted tank with guppies and shrimp. The first salesperson recommended the incorrect heater, but was corrected by the second. The second retailer helped me pick out the plants I was going to put in the tank and then went ahead to recommend that I purchase a LED light for a non-planted tank. There were a number of options that we spoke about, but I was not told that the one I purchased wouldnt be appropriate. The LED light only had white lights, and did not cover the full spectrum required for plants. I did not know there was a difference and put my trust in their expertise to provide me with the right equipment. After losing the plants that I purchased due to incorrect lighting two months down the road I went back to purchase a different light. The same retailer that I spoke with actually remembered me and our conversation. However, he told me that I made the purchase of the light elsewhere and that he did not recommend that light. No effort was made to reach an understanding or keep my business. As someone who has worked retail and works as a technical sales rep for a small company that manufactures equipment for businesses I was turned off by their attitude, and willingness to sell the wrong product just to make a sale. Youll be better off doing the research yourself and saving money by buying online.

"Update" FYI the guy that posted that im slandering this place is either the Owner, Mistaken, OR A LIAR... I went back here a few times since, and not long after my post the smell was gone and has not come back. So im thinking the FYI post must have been the owner. REALLY I LOVE YOUR STORE NOW its BACK.. Back to a great Full Healthy Selection and the prices will not be beat.. Like I said in my last post I have a reef tank to die for and its all because of this place and i hated to post that but it was FALLING OFF.. May i suggest a suggestion box or maybe post an email or maybe a pic of who owns it so i can just say something to you when i see you?................................................................................................. "OLD REVIEW" Dam I hate to do it. I have a reef tank to die for partly because of this place. But the past few months this place has went so far down hill its insane. They always have sold and recommended things you do not need. But everyone has to eat.
The store now you walk in and your hit with an odor that will make you throw up, you have to leave well my wife did leave it smells like a rotten dirty un cleaned hampster tanks, I braved the smell to get to the tanks of ich and cyano all over several fish laying dead it was a reef lovers nightmare. Going back to my other lfs. I live in the area so ill update if things change

this is a group account and this is a message from ben. i buy a lot from this store and i have always been pleased! the fish all seem to be happy and tanks all seem to be well kept. when i came to buy some bettas for my collection, the staff knformed me on the proper care for them and supplied me with the correct food and water cleaser. yesterday i went and bought 3 ghost shrimp and they were all very nice and i also was informed on their care also. the staff is always helpful and always give you the correct information needed for each and every organism you purchase. yesterday i also took a look at the other animals. the chameleons were very healthy and their area was very well kept along with the turtles, tarantulas, scorpions and others. the birds also looked very healthy and also had very nice cages. the accessories and necessities sections were very diverse and had everything you would ever need. there are staff always ready and always cleaning around the shop. i will definitely be back and i think ill be purchasing a chameleon next!

I am a huge supporter of independent businesses, but I would not purchase fish from here EVER again. The tanks are extremely dirty, from the large saltwater tank in the storefront, to all of their other tanks - freshwater and salt included. I purchased only one fish from here over a year ago and it gave my entire tank ich (which I know for a fact since no other fish were introduced during that time). I stop by relatively often when Im in the mall to check for improvements or to pick up a filter cartridge, but the tanks get worse with each visit. The gunk is so bad in some of their tanks that there are layers of crap on the top of the water and fish appear to be in desperate need of oxygen. The employees sit behind the counter like they have nothing to do and the tanks are clearly in desperate need with sick and dead stock. How you can run a fish store like this is beyond me!
