Pet Express is the middle man to enable and promote puppy mills. Sadly, I bought into their lies that they sell puppies from reputable private breeders. My husband and I fell in love with a sweet and timid Cockalier. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mixed with American Cocker Spaniel. They call it hybrid vigor but I know its a fancy term for a mutt. Everyone knows a mutt has better health than a pure breed. Anyway, our puppy had a few health problems which werent too expensive to correct. She had kennel cough and advanced strain of Giardia. I tried to use Pet Express so-called pet warranty but its a third party you have to call and file your claims (Pet Express DOES NOT handle this), which the third party warranty doesnt accept even if you follow all the rules about seeing a vet within a certain time period and the vets Pet Express is connected with. The veterinarians Pet Express have are pretty good but i prefer my own. The certificate they gave me about her birth and breeder were false. I also notified the Danvers branch about her health issues and the staff DID NOT care. I repeat, when I bought her, she was with other puppies but it means little or nothing to them. I hope people dont make my mistakes, and we can stop puppy mills. Reading reviews, I know I came out on the luckier side. My puppy is healthy, happy, and thriving. I would warn others about this Cockalier breed being very delicate, fragile, and sensitive. Mine is VERY timid and easily distressed. This breed wouldnt do well with small children who are not properly watched over. Because she is part Cavalier she loves to be on my lap and HATES, I repeat HATES to be away from me and my husband for even small lengths of time. She is crate-trained, house broken, and doesnt chew on the furniture but if we leave her alone for an hour of doing an errands, she starts to destroy my books and floor moldings. Were trying to break her out of this but its looking impossible. Also when I talked to my veterinarian about what Pet Express said on Cockaliers and the notorious health scares and risk that a pure bred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has because of their head shape and heart murmurs...a Cockalier cancels out those risks, my vet disagreed. He said that the dog breed mixture can help any dog, of course, but it WILL NOT COMPLETELY cancel out the brain seizures and aneurism and even heart murmurs completely. And it does NOT manifest until the dog is at least 1 to 2 years old so even at puppy years it will not necessarily show itself for any so-called warranty to be in effect.

Drove by last night to pick up our puppy. She has an amazing fun personality and exceeds our expectations for behavior and smarts. Shes a Boston terrier akc certified and absolutely beautiful. Reading reviews and seeing pictures on this site are absolutely pathetic by people with no lives and lots of time to complain. Yes there are people saying adopt dont buy. Heres the problem. Have you worked at a shelter??? Have oh even walked in the doors of one??? Weve looked into adopting multiple times and what we find are pit bulls and chiwawas. And adoption fees are $300-$450. So youre accentually paying for a dog who possibly has been raised poorly and could have issues with other dogs. Not to mention is definitely not certified or able to be breed as they spay and neuter the animals immediately. Its almost impossible to find a puppy at a shelter and if you do they are top dollar for a mutt usually not that a mutt isnt ok its just impossible to get exactly what youre looking for at a shelter. Unless its a cat. The puppy is going to receive great love either way thats what should matter. Someone will buy him/her and the "Puppy mills" that breed them will continue because people have demand for purebred dogs. And most people are willing to pay to have want they would like. As for the condition of the puppies at this location. They were all well kept. Before we played with our little girl we had to sanatize our hands. We couldnt even pick her up. Their rules for the puppies are legit and this was the best pet store ive ever been to. They treated us well took extra time so we wouldnt have to come back to pick the puppy up as we had a 2 1/2 hour drive. They made sure we were aware of every line that was signed and showed and gave us a list of all her vaccines for the proper age. This place is legit and the 3 women that helped us were great. The owner had to come by as the computer malfunctioned and he was really awesome as well. Im very impressed with this company. They have done a great job showing how a pet store should be arranged and employees should treat their guests. Awesome job guys!

this is the worst pet store. I went there 3 days in a row to see a puppy I fell in love with. The first 2 times, there was a really nice girl who knew a lot about puppies and you could tell she loved her job. But when I finally came up with the money to buy him the third day I went back, and once I got to the counter there was this super pushy employee who tried to FORCE me to buy 70+ dollars worth of stuff I already had. I had only planned on spending the cost of the dog since it was a few paychecks before I could afford such a large purchase anways and I wasn't about to spend MY money on things I already had waiting at my house. She said I could not get the puppy without its so called "starter kit", which she basically made up by grabbing everything she could off the shelves and bringing them to the counter without even asking if I needed it. When I said I could get that stuff somewhere else(I said this to shut her up), she gave me a huge, disrepectful attitude, and said I couldn't do this. Really...last time I checked, I was the client and I don't need to be told what I can and cannot do. This isn't the first puppy I've owned, yet despite me telling her repeatedly I was all set she kept pushing useless products on me and pointless advice. As I told her the first 4 times, not the first puppy I've owned! I was so annoyed and offended I walked out puppyless and heartbroken. Needless to say, this place lost a big sale because one employee was too greedy, and only cared about making herself a larger commisson.
