There pedigree papers are not real. The pups come from puppy mills the largest puppy mill in the US is from MO (coincidently thats where these pups are from)...the papers are real but the information on them is FAKE!! I repeat FAKE!! If you dont believe me then just try and trace there bloodline back, try and contact the breeder (they give you all the information on the pretty paper they give you!!) On fake breeders...the breeders cant be found there is nothing online about them there completely fake!! You can get AKC papers by just telling about the pup...they rely on honesty from the pet store...here is a copy of the AKC own wording from there website..... ****When applying for registration, AKC relies on breeders and owners to be honest. If the breeder of your dog has given the AKC false information, your dogs pedigree may not be correct. Unfortunately, its almost impossible for AKC to verify all this information individually. Unless you personally know and trust your dogs breeder, you really have no way of knowing if your dog is really the one recorded on his papers! What a pedigree doesnt tell you is very important! Any purebred dog that meets AKCs requirements for registration may be registered and receive "papers". The papers cant tell you if the dog is of good quality or if it even looks like the breed its supposed to be. All it can tell you is that the dog is registered and his records are kept on file. Most people misunderstand this very important point! Many, many poor quality dogs are AKC registered. You cant judge a dogs quality from looking only at his registration papers or pedigree. Pet Express is a bunch of liars and I dont even think my dog is a purebred...(I read another customer review that her dog was not purebred from pet express) I am having my pup tested with a DNA test...we shall see!! They might be facing a nice lawsuit...

I purchased an Engligh Bulldog from Pet Express in 2007. While i was hesitant about purchasing from a pet store, I was also hesitant about buying from a breeder that was not local, and non of the local breeders at the time had any puppies available. I had done my research and been in a couple of times to speak to the staff, and had a great experience. They dont carry them in there normal puppy lineup, so they went out and found one for me, which took about 2 months, and HE is the best puppy, great temperment, beautiful colors, pure bloodline. My bad experience with them comes about a year later, when my dog developed Entropion, which is normal for short nosed breeds, after about $3500 in medical bills, I remembered that they had provided a 1 Year warranty for up to $1000 thru Household Pet Protection, great I thought, I submitted my claim for reimbursement in March of 2008, till this day, nothing...I call Household probably 2 or 3 times a month, to be told, it should be 2 or 3 more weeks, we get money in From Pet Express a couple of times a month to pay the claims that are made, but since yours is a large claim it takes time as they dont send in that much money when they do send in any at all. So beware, while the store, staff was great, hopefully you never have to use there Pet Warranty they provide, This is the most Frustrating experience, after numerous calls to Household and to John at Pet Express, I am still waiting for the reimbursement, for the warranty that they "offer you" as part of there package at no charge. 8 Months and counting, called again today ,11/3/08, and was told, you were the next one on the list, but there were some other claims that Pet Express decided to pay before yours. Maybe one day, I will receive the money...Only positive is that My Bully is great, Eye Surgery went fine, and he is the most lovable bully.

I took MBTA all the way to Lynn to look at this stores selection of guinea pigs, as there are no breeders in the area. They had quite a few, however 2 of the 4 males had bald patches (not flourettes) that were flaky. I didnt at all feel comfortable buying from a pet store in the first place, and this just made it worse. While I was there, a lady and her friend were looking at one of the puppies that an employee had brought out to the play area. The puppy was quite lively and leaped from this poor womans hands and into the play pen. The employee immediately scoffed "Jesus! Come onnnn." and takes the dog away to the back of the store. The poor lady was left stunned, and calling out "is he okay??" The employee never answered her and when he emerged from the back of the store, continued for 5 minutes to ignore her questions about the puppy. Terrible. The same employee, who asked if I could hold the guinea pigs said no because "these ones are too scared." ....way to go, genius, theyre guinea pigs. If Im going to buy an animal from you, I expect to be able to handle it. All in all, not so hot an experience, and I dont plan to visit ever again.

I went there for the 1st time for buy Saltwater fish, guy who was helping me didnt know much. also their pricing are higher then pet-co. i went expecting cheaper pricing but that was not the case but beside all that, here is my problem i bought 4 salt water fish w/o looking when i got home and ready to put the fish in my tank what i see is the one fish is already dying and it did with in hour. I called the store right away same day right after putting the fish in my tank and knew it would die, the guy at the store told me yes there is No return policy even thou i just got it, he start telling me about his story how i once bought fish for him self at the same store for $80 and died on him as well and store would not pay him back. i would NEVER go back to this store for buying anything. save you self money go to pet co other store where you can buy HEALTHY fish and also pet co has 14 days return policy. PS i dont work for pet co its just thats the only store i know beside pet express that sell saltwater fish.

Good pet store but would not buy a dog here....staff is friendly and helpfull however had a bad experience after buying a puppy... dog had to be returned do to the fact it was unhealthy and most likely would not survive without multiple surgeries. The store knew beforehand the dog had some problems but in fairness probably did not realize how bad they were. The truth of the matter is the dogs papers were a little suspect and more than likely they come from a mill or backyard breeder which from what i read does not sound like a good thing....im not saying that you cant still get a great dog from this store but keep in mind the risk...think about your whole family coming to terms with the fact that the dog you had for a couple weeks that you have grown attached to has serious health issues....believe me it is not easy i think about that poor dog all the time and it has been months since the incident.

Sorry to say this but I will never purchase any animals from this store again..my husband and I purchased a puppy from here and since we got him we have had nothing but illness and skin problems. Been to the vet many times and now its ruled as psychological issues with him. I would never get rid of my pet or not care for him, but after reading the reviews of their pets are from puppy mills I can see why its a psychological problem. The sales people are very misleading to the customer and after tons of money in vet bills to help this poor dog. still no progress with his medical issues. Prozac prednisone Benadryl apoquel..its just ridiculous!!
