Went to pick up a VR headset for my kids. The first one we got for a Christmas gift broke in 1 day(transmitter, not Best Buy). They gave us a gift card because they were out of stock. I signed up for a notification to alert me when it would be available and never got it. Finally, my wife ordered on line in March. I went to pick it up and I was told only my wife could pick it up. I had her ID, the gift card, my ID with the same address, and the email confirmation on my phone. The manager could care less and she said "anyone could walk in with a stolen ID" . But wait, I had the email, the redeemed gift card and my own ID with the same last name and address. Seems like a lot of trouble to try to steal a $300 item. She decided instead of providing good customer service she would rather flex her management muscle in front of her colleagues and stated she "did not care it was their policy". No wonder they are loosing business. The month before I picked up a 65 inch TV worth $1,200 for my grandfather with no problem. I would have never went there in the first place due to previous deceptive practices and lack of customer service, but this was a gift and when it broke I had no choice. I would stay away, Micro center, Sears and Amazon to name a few have far better customer service and extended warranty policies. Best buy Geek squad protection is a joke, you do not get what you paid for an item if they cant fix it. Instead the give you what THEY deem is "fair market value" for the item. That means when I bought a $2,400 TV and a $600 warranty, when it broke a year later, they only gave me $1,800 back. I would have been better renting from Rent a Center at that rate. Micro Center gives you every penny back! Additionally it took me over 2 hours on the phone just to get the credit and over an hour in the store to actually get the new TV. Bad, bad, bad! Wake up Best Buy you are loosing the race.

A friend told me about the brand new kitchen appliance display in the Dedham BestBuy, and I had been looking in a lot of other appliance stores, but they didnt have what I wanted; I was shopping in the morning at Legacy Place, so I went down the road about a mile or so to just peek in - I was really surprised by the high end appliances. I went in still sort of expecting the local big box store (it was Best Buy, after all), and it was at first, then I walked over to the left and found myself in the "Pacific Sales" section of the store. It was gorgeous! They had a brand new display, with GE Monogram, Thermador, Viking.... I was looking to just see the Thermador french door (rated tops by Consumer Reports)... the people at the desk were so very helpful too - I have been set in my opinion that all appliances should match brands, but now Im not sure - I love the Thermador fridge, but I really liked the GE induction cooktop. Ive never used induction - I was impressed by the safety and quick cooking (a pot of water boils within a minute!) I went home to think about changing my kitchen plans to fit an induction cooktop and a GE Advantium oven. The only criticism I have is that I wish that the TV/stereo section over in the other area of Best Buy wasnt so loud. They could use a little sound deadening between the areas. Other than that, I felt like I had my questions answered, the sales staff was very knowledeable, and I could see everything. While I live closer to the Best Buy in Braintree, I really liked the sales people in Dedham. Ill be back to Dedham. It was a great overall experience in the Pacific Sales appliance section inside BestBuy!!!

Went in to purchase a 55" Sony tv at the Mansfield store. Saleswoman quoted us a different price than on line. Insisted we read the ad wrong. She didnt know her stuff at all. Every television we asked her about she had to check her notes. Was told by another associate she was one of the best associates there. Okay. Got to the register and told me my rewards card was not on the system. I must have registered incorrectly on line. Naturally it was me. Finally we left without a purchase. Also purchasing a gps/ fitness tracker or something like on the same day. The two sales people I spoke to did not have a clue. Store was out of date and not very knowledgable in the electronic/ tech. Went home and called customer service. My rewards card was fine. The agent I spoke to said the Best Buy associate was mistaken. It was in the system and all info was correct. Next drove to the Dedham store. What an awesome store! Did I say an awesome store!!! We purchased a 55" Sony, for $250.00 cheaper than the Mansfield store quoted, also that was the price on line. Then thanks to the knowledgable sales associates I purchased an Apple Watch. Such a difference in two store from the same company. Wow. If you know exactly what you need and have no questions, youre fine in the Mansfield store, otherwise Id recommend everyone to go to Dedham. I will drive further to Dedham in the future or shop in a different company all together.

I always buy from Amazon, but I needed to replace a scanner immediately. I ordered the scanner for store pick up. There was no one ahead of me at the pick up counter but I still waited over 20 minutes while the associate tried to delete an item from an order over the phone for a customer who would be in later in the day. The line behind me grew with people trying to pick up their pre-paid merchandise. Seems like the paying customers forming a line for over 20 minutes in front of you should take priority over a customer on the phone that is coming into the store later in the day! Twice a manager came to the desk and when I asked him for help he didnt even make eye contact with me. When the associate finally tried to get my merchandise, she couldnt find it! Eventually she located it. When I returned home I found the same scanner $30 cheaper on Amazon. Uggg. Thank you for the reminder to never shop here again.

This is maybe the worst Best Buy Ive ever been to. The staff are helpful enough, if theres anyone around to actually help you. The real problem is with the display devices. Devices are broken, wont turn on, have major parts that dont work, have parts completely missing, and sometimes the right device isnt even in the right place -- I saw an iPad tethered to a spot labeled for a Nexus 5 phone. The game systems arent turned on, buttons are broken or popped off, and there are scratches on screens. This isnt just one device, either -- I saw problems with nearly everything I tried to use. There were even headphones that were playing nothing but loud static. I dont know what the manager of this store is thinking, but they probably shouldnt have a job.
