If you are in the market for a Chevrolet or need to have your car serviced, this is the place to go in the D.C. Area…!!! From my very first visit to Sport Chevrolet, I have been treated like a valued customer. My experience with Sport began several years ago with the service department. They serviced my Saturn for years and kept it in tip-top shape. More recently (March 2013) I realized the need for a new vehicle. Charlie Eames in Sales was excellent to work with [NO GAMES! {I was so pleasantly surprised!}]...I got a great deal on my trade-in, and a great price on my new Sonic Hatchback LT! This place puts the customer first. When I originally visited the dealership at Sport, I wanted to look at the different models and feel things out. Charlie took the time (I’m picky, I commute 25,000+ miles in a year, and he really took A LOT of time with me) to go through several different vehicles. He explained the pros/cons, and value of each vehicle. We looked at the Equinox, Malibu, Cruze, and Sonic. When I was ready, I took a test drive of the Sport – Loved it! Good pickup, decent on gas, nice sound system, quiet ride, and all at an awesome price with GM incentives and my USAA discount ☺ The team at Sport worked with me to put together a deal that would work! Lee Shirley (Sales Manager) and Charlie were honest and open. I didn’t feel pressured,: they let the deal speak for itself! And no gimmicks! I would have walked away if they had pushed “under coating” or “paint protection” like some other dealers in the area. Fred Taverner in financing also beat my USAA rate for financing (a whole point under!) – with the term and features that I wanted. Once the paperwork was out of the way, Charlie took the time to go over everything with me. That Chevy MyLink system is something else – it’s like an iPad in your car (Apps and all). The integration with OnStar is pretty cool too - you can start your car from your cell phone. The most enlightening experience was with the spare tire compartment. It has a false bottom, and he showed me how to get to it (Every time I tried I thought I was going to break something.) If you want great service or a great car buying experience, dont even bother with other dealerships in the DC area, there is no comparison. The staff here goes out of their way to provide the best sales and service experience possible.

I will preface this by saying that to a certain point, I understand the salespersons side of this. And I would also like to say that this will be my first one-star review at any website. However, the lack of respect, I feel, has drawn me to post this review. Earlier this summer, I planned on purchasing a Chevy Volt, and had actually been working with a dealership nearby, Win Kelly. However, before I purchased, I wanted to look at another color that I knew was available at Sport. I ended up going down there with my husband and didnt like the color. But our dealer said he could get the red that I wanted and have it shipped in. I told him that I believed the red was available at Win Kelly, but he told me that the system didnt show that. So, on the positive, they did give me the TrueCar price, although I had to fight for a fair trade-in price. The negative- they said that most likely my husband would have to also be on the financing, which is something that no other dealer had said for the two other cars Id owned, including when I was a stay at home mom. And Win Kelly had never required this. Was it that Im black and my husband is white? Maybe. Maybe not. However, over the weekend I had to wait, I had a bad feeling. I called Win Kelly as a courtesy to tell them Id purchased the car from another dealer, and they confirmed that they did in fact have the car Id wanted. My dealer at Win Kelly was very respectful and said that it was up to me. I decided that I would get the car I want from down the street instead of waiting more from from far away. And for a better price. When I decided, the dealer from Sport, was understandably upset, but he started screaming at me, saying things that implied he stooped beneath himself to entertain me anyway. He was screaming so much that his manager, Robert, took the phone from him and had to calm the situation. I was going to go along with the sale at Sport until Id realized that I did not want to give my business to someone who had spoken in that manner to me. If anything, I will say that Robert was an excellent manager in this situation and was very respectful, cancelling my sale and wishing me well. I did purchase from Win Kelly, for a better price and a better overall experience.

It took 3 visits for my car to be fixed. I went in initially complaining about my rack and pinion and a whining noise when i turn my steering wheel, seeing as though my car was still under warranty, parts and labor was covered. Just to be safe i informed them that i wanted any and everything covered under the warranty to be fixed that day. I paid the deductible, they "fixed" my car, i picked it up... My car was still making noises when turning the wheel, i checked the power steering fluid, and there was absolutely no power steering fluid in the reservoir- even though they charged me to replenish the power steering fluid after fixing the rack and pinion. So i took it back to them only to find out now it needed an allignment, a new steering gear, and a new front right strut. All things that are 1)covered under the warranty and 2)shouldve been seen during the initial inspection. To top it off they wanted me to repay the 300$ deductible to do the wirk that needed to be done to my car. Fast forward, i complained to both them and the warranty company and the labor was covered at no charge to me.... i pick up my car again only to see my car smoking by the time i got home, hear a horrible grinding noise similar to driving against the curb, smell some kind of fumes in my car, and see that 5$ was missing out of my cup holder (idc if its 5cents 5$ or 500$ it didnt grow legs and walk out of my vehicle). So once again i have to take my car back to them only to find out that the incompetent individual who worked on my car did not connect the sway bar when fixing the strut, and the sway bar was actually hanging off thus the sound. I just got my car back and will have to deal with the smell for a few days becauseof some fluids leaking on parts in the engine smh. All in all this was a horrible experience. I would have been better off taking my car to a mom and pop mechanic shop and having it fixed by a blind man. I lost not only income, due to not having a vehicle for several days, but time and energy as well. There is no reason i shouldve had to go back 3 times in less than a week to fix my car. Take your business elsewhere.
