Wegmans is just what the hoity toity ladies of Baltimore County need - another escape into quality prepared food, a step above Whole Foods. The variety wegmans provides is truly unique. Their seafood, poultry, and meats are remarkably displayed behind vast glasses that extend for an endless aisle. Once I even asked for octopus at the seafood counter and they provided it for me from the freezer in the back! So cool! Wegmans bagels are also fantastic. Dare I say it, the best in Baltimore. Always fresh, baked daily and the perfect crunchy exterior/soft inside combination around. They even play with the variety on weekends to include tasty things like Jalepino Cheddar, etc. Wegmans bakery goods are ok. Their basics like pies and sheet cakes are completely overpriced for what it is, but if youre looking for a fruit tart or chocolate specialty cake, they have it. Patisserie Poupon has better cakes for a comparable price, but Wegmans carries good ones too if you live in the county and dont feel like making the trek down 83. Their cheese selection is a step above anything else Ive seen. I have friends from Washington DC who ask me to bring certain French varieties we only shared across the pond. They have an extensive collection from an array of countries that you are hard-pressed to find elsewhere. I can say the same about their international products of ethnic varieties. This is true for their teas/coffees as well. I could make a whole gift basket from the pasta section/Italian sauces alone! They also carry specialty greens like mache lettuce (lambs lettuce). Wegmans also gets credit for their sushi bar. It is phenomenal for take out sushi and I especially like their tuna tataki. You can give the sushi chef certain orders to go. Speaking of to go - their prepared Chinese food bar is ok. It got a critical nutritional review from the Baltimore sun that keeps me far away. They recently added a gelato bar which is just ok. There is plentiful seating upstairs which overlooks the ever-present holiday atmosphere of the grocery store. Wegmans is missing one star because I think some of their prepared food is just bad. You can do a much better star just taking the food home and making it yourself sometimes. Soups are too creamy, salads have too much dressing. They just go overboard. You can have someone cook you a fish filet behind the counter and eat it right upstairs but its never very good. Something about the way they prepare foods is just greasy and unappealing/unhealthy. You can go for their oven-ready prepared filets that literally just require popping in the oven. Lets not get too lazy, folks! Limit the indulgence that Wegmans tempts out of its patrons for your own good.

The Hunt Valley Wegmans just always seems to deliver. I do wish their recently revamped café was open past 9pm to at least 10. What is it with most coffee places here in MD? They always close far earlier than the demand, and Wegmans is open till 12AM all week. I hear that complaint from everyone who comes here out of state too. Still, no one beats this selection, quality, and service. Many say it is pricey, but they are selling higher quality, it is worth it. They still carry low priced staples like bread, cheese, milk etc. If youre on a low budget like myself, you just have to know how to shop there, and it can still be very economical if you know what to buy. All 5s. Most grocery stores in this state and elsewhere just feel cold and disconnected, but not the Hunt Valley Wegmans. It feels like an authentic full service market, warm and inviting. I hope this place always remains.

Dont avoid Wegmans because you may think its a specialty, expensive grocery store. Its not. Their everyday grocery items are competitively priced and their store brands are excellent- sometimes better than the brand name stuff. You can go in there and spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on cheese and truffles and gadgets and dinnerware but you can also just do your regular grocery shopping. The two things I dont like about this Wegmans and really arent Wegmans fault are the parking lot and the customers. The lot is always full and you often have to drive around the lot several times before finding a space. Most of the customers are entitled and rude. Dont expect them to say please or thank you or stop for you in a crosswalk. Its not going to happen. This is the land that manners forgot.

When we are in Hunt Valley, we usually stop in here. I dont know what Id do regular grocery shopping here, though we have found some good deals on groceries so if youre a smart shopper, you can probably do alright. Its always clean, usually busy, but not too much to enjoy a stroll around checking everything out. As I indicated, we come in just to browse and get a few little things, but even that is enjoyable. The grocery stores we do our regular shopping at are nice enough, but nothing wed go to just to walk around and browse like Wegmans (maybe we just dont get out enough). Anyway, we have bought sushi, food from the food bar, barrel-style dill pickles (though not in a barrel anymore, unfortunately), and cheese (they have a huge variety). If youre in the Towne Centre, check it out!

Pharmacy is just bad. We switched a family members extensive drug list here lured by promotions, thinking we could shop or eat while prescriptions are filled. But no. The sad secret of Wegmans pharmacy operation is they stock very little, Fedexing in all but the most common drugs. Ive been told many times they couldnt be filled same day. And Ive showed up when drugs are supposed to be ready to be told "still out of stock - ready 11AM tomorrow" which is just after FedEx delivery time about a dozen times. And they close at 7....except when they decide to close earlier. Switched back to CVS which always has in stock and is 24/7 with a drive-through.

This store was much better when it first opened, but now there are so many Wegmans generic items that have replaced branded items. And the generics cost the same as branded, but are really not as good. And the meat dept. has gotten bad - oever-priced and poor quality. And the generic Wegman cheeses are so expensive and also not as good - their brie selection is very poor and overpriced. And their aisles are cluttered with displays to make getting through the store difficult. But they get 3 stars because they usually have lots of cashiers. (We do our meat, cheese, fruit, veggie shopping at a smaller locally owned store)

Im glad they are doing so well that they can lose a customer over 5 dollars, I use to spend 1000.00 a month at this store but I will not shop at Wegmans again. I purchased a bag of organic green beans and when i got home they were mushy and old they had expired two days prior. I took them back a week later with my receipt and was told "we do not return items that have expired" I argued with her that that was why i returning them. My receipt clearly showed a date two days after the date on the package. She wouldnt give me a store credit or and exchange. This is no way to do business.

my husband and I travel to wegmans whenever we can. on Monday 12-1-14, was very different. our visits were usually good, but not this time. I always got a crab cake, but this time the lady told me I had to go get my own roll. well I changed my mind. I decided on soup and a cesar salad. well that was a flop. no one was there to make me one. so I decided on the Italian food. that was dried up a good part of the food. well we left and went to eat at joes, and had a great time. going back to wegmans from now on, will be tough. it will be some time I know that.
