I recently went to this shop for buying Sofa set, though the prices are cheaper, but the customer experience is horrible, changing of delivery dates, no respect to the customer.. you will find all possible hassles at this shop. 29th Mar 2014 - I had been to their shop in downtown to order the furniture. Ofcourse, I wasnt sure whether to buy at this place or not. Because my friend referred this place, I came to this place and found a good sofa set @ 1100 $ price including love seat and recliner seat. It was a good deal, but the way the owner interacted with me was rude, no respect for the customers. The sales representative initially said, it can be delivered on next Wed/Thu before I make up my mind. Once I paid the money [half the price], Grant told me that he will give me a call on Monday to let me know about delivery date. I was expecting the call, Grant didnt called me. On Tuesday 1st April, I called him and asked about delivery, he replied it will be on Friday 4th April 2014. On Friday, I have again called Grant and then he replied, it will be coming Monday. He told me that he will give me confirmation on Sunday about delivery on Monday. He didnt called me at all on Sunday. So I called him again on Monday asking for the delivery date, then he said, it will be on Wed 9th April 2014 and he will confirm the time on Tuesday 8th April. He didnt called me again!!, what a wonderful customer service they have.. I called him again on 8th April in the evening and he said the delivery would be on coming Friday or Monday.. keep changes the dates :). I paid money for this kind of customer service. I completely disappointed, lost hope on these guys and requested them to pay my money back. Fortunately, the gentlemen "Grant" accepted to return my money. I am happy for not making business with this company, who dont think about customers, the responsibility to make sure customer is informed upfront about delivery schedule changes. Be careful while getting into business with this company.. its ok to pay more and get a good customer service instead of cheaper prices. Update on 14-Apr-2014: Guys, the sales ppl and owner of this shop are big liers and fraud. The sales person "Grant" told me that they will refund my money back to my credit card and they havent done it so far. It is almost more than a week and when I called him, he asked to contact my credit card bank for the refund. Be careful about these guys, dont even go there for any business. I have disputed the transaction thru my credit card bank and they are in the process of investigating this. On the other hand, I found the better furniture [better than the one I chose in this store] in Ashley store in Schaumburg at the price $100 more. It is worth and obsolutely fine to extra 100 $ and get good service, reliable source. Its a good lesson for me.

Here is the deal, if you are looking for cheap affordable furniture and you dont trust online stores, or want to physically see the product before you buy it then this is the place to go, experience will vary per customer, some will rate it high because they went in, ordered and got their stuff on time with no issues and didnt have to deal in person with any issues, some like my self had to deal with issues regardless if it was their own fault, or not (mine was my fault) and then they will have to deal with the only negative side of this place, customer service, place operates with the old mentality that didnt hold the customer on a high pedestal regardless of the situation, which sadly in this day and age is a must have with all the online competition going on, would I go there again? properly not, I didnt like my own experience and it kind of left me with a bitter taste in my mouth and I wouldnt do it again, I waited to write this review because honestly if I did two years ago Id have given them 1 star, its cheap but keep in my you get what you paid for, for me the sofas I got barely made it two years before starting to fall flat and have many issues with moderate use but I know that I didnt buy the highest quality furniture so I should have expected that and they are still functional. Overall shop inventory: 4/5, Price: 5/5, Quality: 3/5, Customer Service with no issue 4/5, Customer Service with issues 1/5 The owners could take this review either way, I dont care but this is the most honest review they will ever get, they can ignore it, or work on improving their customer service and expanding their customer base.

Apr 9, 2011 I do not know where to begin. This is my first ever posting of a review, and i must say the person before me must be related to the owner of Marjen. My girlfriend and I visited the Devon ave store and we had a well seasoned sales person assist us in purchasing a bed and Tv stand this person was kind and very plesant to deal with. I placed both items on lay-way. I went back about 2months later and paid off everything I owed plus I even purchased a set of mattresses. So I clearly paid some serious money that any other furniture store wouldve loved to have spent in their store. Well the day of the delivery came and they never showed.. STRIKE 1... I called and they had some scheduling problem on their behalf.. fine i rescheduled.. On the new date the delivery arrived and at that moment I was informed that my Tv stand is on backorder and will be delivered and setup once it arrives. I called the store to confirm this info and they reassured me it has been backordered and will take a few days. A few days go by i call them to see the status, they have no answer. i was told to check back in a week... STRIKE 2...i went to the store to see about just getting my money back for the stand, they refuse to do so..I was told that the stand is in but the glass shevles are not.. i waited over 3 weeks still notthing...they want to give me a store credit.. Now that we are at this point the sales people spoken to on the phone are rude and in person, once they get your money the customer service is out the window....I DO NOT WANT ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS....

Marjen Furniture would have DEFRAUDED me if I did not point to a mistake, probably deliberate, made by them on my bill. I purchased a sofa there last fall and did not realized it would be sent to me as a whole piece (Nobody in the store reminded me of the big chance it would not fit into the door of an apartment). As a result, the delivery team could not move it into my apartment (Actually they could barely carry it up through the staircase), and I was told that "I had two choices left": either to return it or to exchange it for another one and pay the difference. I chose the latter lest I pay the high amount of returning fee, so I returned to the store, picked another sofa, and saw my bill: Not only do I have to pay the delivery (which was not completed) fee and exchange fee in full amount, I WAS STILL CHARGED THE TAX OF MY ORIGINAL PURCHASE! Instead of refunding me the after-tax amount I paid for the first sofa, they refunded the before-tax amount and kept the tax associated with my first purchase on my bill (wishing I would faint at the bill and turn my head away immediately?) Unfortunately, I pointed out the ridiculous mistake to them, and they looked like nothing had happened! My dear friend, if you really have to go there, beware of attempt of fraud.
