I have been buying all of my jewelry from Bruce Carsons over the past several years and have to say that my experience with them has been excellent. My first purchase from them was an engagement ring. I had shopped months at several big name jewelry stores in VA and DC Metro and always felt like I was being pressured into buying their diamonds and I never got to deal with the same person more than once. From the first time I walked into Bruce Carsons I never felt pressured into buying anything and the same staff has been working there for several years so I know they are very knowledgeable in the jewelry they sell. Courtney has been the main person I have worked with since my first purchase and she has been excellent. She is always patient with me when making decisions, helpful in answering all of my questions and just a very genuine person. Every time I have asked for pricing she has gotten back to me within a couple days and when I had a problem with my wedding band she took care of it as soon as I told her about it. I would highly recommend Bruce Carsons to anyone who is looking to buy quality jewelry and wants a personable experience where you know you will be taken care of even after your purchase is made.

When my grandfather proposed to my grandmother, he didnt have much, but what he did have was a pretzel ring. He promised my grandmother the world, and eventually, a new ring, complete with all the bells and whistles he could afford. He gave her both: Four kids, a dream home, and a ring that was designed to look like Xs and Os, just as he signed every letter that he wrote to her. My grandfather passed away when I was 13. My grandmother and I kept close, and when I told her I was getting married, she did not hesitate to offer me the ring that my grandfather gave to her all those years ago. Unfortunately, as the ring was old, after a few months it cracked. How could I let it happen? What did I do to ruin something that meant so much? And what was I to do now? Luckily came R. Bruce Carson Jewelers. I can never thank you enough for bringing my ring back to life. Not only did you repair the crack, but you polished, buffed, and cleaned it to a luster that I thought impossible. My ring was treated with care, and I truly felt like my story mattered and the employees cared. I will always recommend this place. Thank you for making my heirloom sparkle again.

To have exceptional customer service is hard to come by this day in age. I am extremely critical of customer service especially due to being an assistant service manager of a dealership. From the moment I walked into R. Bruce Carson Jewelers I was greeted by nearly everyone in the establishment. Moments after I was asked if I had been assisted and if there was anything I needed help with. I decided to work with Nicole who I have had the pleasure of meeting when in the store previously. She was incredibly helpful by providing me with the most information possible to make the best decision. She really showed her knowledge of the products by presenting me, with what seemed like, endless options. Her genuine kind demeanor made me feel comfortable instead of insecure about buying an item I lacked knowledge on. Before I made my purchase she explained every detail of what I was purchasing including the cost breakdown. By far one of the best buying experience I have ever had. R. Bruce Carson Jewelers now has a lifetime customer. Thanks Nicole! You made me a lifetime customer and will always be highly recommended.

SEE UPDATE BELOW. Didnt really enjoy engagement ring shopping here. Once I told the girl how much I wanted to spend(I was in the $7-8000 range), she kept trying to get me to spend more ($3-4000 more). Without sounding tacky and saying how much I actually spent, I ended up going to BBS Jewellers in Greencastle, PA. My fiancée loves her ring. UPDATE: Two months after posting the above review, I received a letter in the mail to my home address. The president, Tom Newcomer, wrote me personally to HOME ADDRESS expressing his displeasure with the above review. Well Tom, since I know youre reading this review, Google has a system in place to respond to comments; my HOME ADDRESS is off limits. My personal information is not for you to use to bash me for giving my honest opinion about my experience at your store. DO NOT CONTACT ME PERSONALLY AGAIN. Again, after this experience, I dont even recommend stopping into this business-if you do and you decide not to buy something and then post a mediocre review because of the pushy sales people, you stand a decent chance of being harassed at you home.

One of the best part of doing business with the people at Bruce Carson is their reputation to make sure that the customer leaves happy and satisfied. I do not like other big name stores because of the tendencies to be very pushy (matter of fact, one of them talked me into a credit card without me knowing). ALL of my experiences at this store had been exceptional. Courtney patiently helped me picked the best rings for my wife and it was custom made for her and my wife is madly in love with those rings. A year later, she helped my wife and I pick an awesome wedding band for me when my previous broke (not purchased here). Overall, all of the purchases were not done the first day we visited the store but after we were satisfied with the purchase. On each of them, we got a great deal! Being a local business run by people with integrity, they got my business anytime and recommendation.

A most unusual follow up experience... the owner, Tom Newcomer, called me after seeing my initial review. After a short discussion regarding his business philosophy he said that he wanted to send me a refund of the charges for the previous watch repair. Because of his attitude and voluntary action I agreed to accept it if he would allow me to donate it to a local charity, Acts 9 which assists local families with food and clothing distribution to qualified, needy families. Mr. Newcomer readily agreed! As a result I am editing my original review I now give an unqualified recommendation that this is a honest business which practices integrity! The owners commitment to "do the right thing" is an attribute that is not often found today and I believe you will have a positive experience if you chose to patronize R. Bruce Carson Jewelers!

I have had nothing but good experiences with Bruce Carson. The employees are professional, kind, and knowledgeable. They have great selection and pricing. I go in often just to get my rings cleaned, buffed, etc. I have also received many gifts bought at Bruce Carson, and have been satisfied every time. I also appreciate the fact that I can support a local business; Bruce Carson is family-owned and nothing like a chain-store you will find at a mall. I even bent a prong on my ring recently, and they fixed it for me, free of charge even though the ring was bought from a different store several years ago. It is unfortunate that people take one small mistake or issue and blow it out of proportion. No business is perfect, but Bruce Carson comes very close. Highly recommend!

I came in here with a Rolex I purchased online because I wanted an authorized dealer to check it out for authenticity. Initially one of the employees made a mistake in evaluating the watch, but when I asked them for written documentation of their analysis they asked me to return and show the watch to the store owner, as he would be the one to create such a document. I returned and Mr. Newcomer spent about 10 minutes looking everything over before telling me he saw no issues with the watch in addition to giving me a rough estimate of value. Both evaluations, even though the first was erroneous, were done free of charge, which I am very thankful for. The staff is friendly and the shop is just a generally nice place.
