We have used the Stamford PetSmart location for day camp, Banfield, and grooming. I will say that we have had bad experiences and encountered rude staff for all three, but our experience with the day care was especially poor from the first time I called for an appointment. The phone system directs you to a line for reservations, and I spoke with a very pleasant lady who asked me a couple basic questions about my dog and confirmed that I could bring him in that day for camp. I specifically asked her to confirm that there would be no issues, as it was pretty last minute and a PetSmart facility that I used to use tended to book up, and she confirmed. When I showed up, I was told that the camp was fully booked for the day and the reservation service that I was directed to and booked through cant even see their system and I should have chosen the option to speak with an associate. They offered to keep my dog in a kennel and said if I called back at 10am they would know if he could get into camp or if I should come pick him up. Already running late for work, I agreed, and when I called at 10am, they had gotten him in. I dismissed this incident as an oversight and continued bringing Luigi weekly for a couple months, with few issues, until one day when we scheduled an ear cleaning during rest time (11am) at the in-house grooming facility. When my fiance went to pick him up around 7 pm, the girl at the desk handed him Luigis collar and directed him to the grooming area. He was clearly confused, seeing as Lus appointment was 8 hours earlier and asked to speak with a mananger. All-in-all, they had failed to alert grooming when he was brought over and crated, and then failed to remember that he was left there for the remainder of the day. Additionally, his ears were never cleaned. The entire situation was extremely unprofessional, irresponsible, and sketchy. For one, we never crated Luigi for hours on end, so it seems odd to me that his likely consistent barking went unnoticed for 8 hours, nevermind the individuals we trusted to look after him for the day, didnt even notice he was gone. Dont be fooled by the report cards that they issue either - we got one that made it sound like he was there playing the entire day (woops!). We were given the days "services" for free and offered another day of camp for free, but have no intentions of bringing him back. We bring Luigi to day care to give him exercise and socialization and ease our worries of having him couped up in the house every day while we work. PetSmart in Stamford provided exactly the opposite of these, and I would highly suggest taking your pet elsewhere. We are currently in the process of checking out other options in Stamford.

This store is run like a mafia. I have always had a poor experience with customer service here so I prefer to goto the norwalk store (its 10miles away but the groomers there are very passionate, nice and professional about their work). The last time I went here was against the better judgement of my wife since I was busy and dint want to drive to Norwalk (clearly my mistake). The moment I entered the grooming salon, there was one groomer STEPHANIE S (please avoid here), who barely greeted me or my dog. My dog is adorable and people love petting him and playing with him but this lady has no sense of customer srvice. She immediately dived into $$ details informing me how much extra she will charge by the hour for unmatting my dog. I felt strongly that this lady is here for overcharge $$ and mistreat my dog (after all she was the only one in the salon, who can prove her otherwise, supervisor Cory was off duty). I shoudlve walked out then and there but left my dog (my mistake). She took devisiih glee in tellingme that my dog would have to be sheared completely (the only time she smiled sarcastically). I come back to collect my dog and all my suspisions come true. She overcharged for the grooming to her heart content, my dog was anxious as hell. It felt like he escaped prison. She had the nerve to unevenly shear him off. This pissed me off no end as I had speicfically told her to evenly shear him. I lost 1hour of my work time waiting for that fix to happen. I was never so angry as I felt that the customer service was so poor and I couldnt be with my self without reporting them. I completed the survey and shared my concerns with corporate. I got a call from the grooming salon manager(Corie), who was the worst person I ever spoke to. All the did was fight with me till the end defending his employee like his life depended on it. The most unbelievable part is when the grooming was being performed, he was not physically present to supervise, but believes the groomer (stephanie s) and fought tooth and nails with me to defend her. People should realise that customer service in pet grooming is off utmost importance because pets cant talk and give you feedback unlik kids. When you give you pet to a goromer for 4hrs they need to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

I want to start off by saying that I made an appointment for Friday at 12:30pm. Petsmart did not inform me that they were closed that day due to weather. I did not receive a phone call from them to reschedule. I had to call them. I made an appointment for Wednesday. I arrived and they asked me what I needed done. I told them a bath, tooth brushing, and nail grinding. They then asked if the contact information was correct. I found that it was in fact not. It was my parents number and I had moved out of their house with my dog since then so I gave them my cell phone number and informed them I would be waiting here. They said it would be two hours. I said that was fine. I walked across the street to starbucks for an hour, then came back and browsed the store and purchased some items. I then sat right outside the groomers from 5-6:45pm. I kept checking my phone. Then I got a call from my mother saying she had just gotten home from work and that Petsmart called HER three times on her house phone and left a message over an hour ago saying my dog was ready to be picked up. I was angry because I had to wait an extra hour only a few feet from my dog, who was being held scared in a cage for no reason. I then asked what was the problem and why they had not called the number I gave them. The woman told me Whoops and that she didnt know was was with the worker today. She messed up earlier too apparently. She then informed me that my dog had been waiting a while and crying. That is not my problem. I had been there the whole time with my phone in hand. So not only was my appointment canceled and I was not told about it, then they didnt contact me when my dog was ready and told me she had been crying and that the employee messed up earlier that day too. I dont think I will be bringing my dog here again, nor will my family.
