I was hesitant when I first checked this place out after reading reviews that were left on google. I went into to look at there selection of birds and I was blown away, he has such a huge variety of birds, he has almost every species you could thing of, like previously mentioned they are kept in small cages that i felt might be a (way) to small for them to permanently live in but i home they sell fast and that is why he does this...any who... after looking at several different locations and vendors I settled on Parrots of the World to purchase my cockatiel. He had such a wide selection of males and females with different color patterns. He lets you "play" with the birds outside of the cage so you can get a sense of the bird you are selecting (a good sign to pay attention to any signs of sickness like other reviews stated) I didnt notice anything wrong with my bird of the others in the cage, but it is good to know the basic if you are looking a purchasing. He retails his cockatiels for $150- which was a good price compare to others I have looked at, My bird is very happy and healthy, and the Owner was nice and informative. Overall 5 Stars putting my worries at rest about the worser reviews

Large Selection of Birds, Supplies, Toys and some food. Birds do seem cramped a bit but Ive seen worse. Owner is very knowledgable and handles the birds very well. Just owner is not the most personable or friendly. Hes kinda sarcastic and seems to feel annoyed by questions asked. Ive seen a few of his videos and in them he seems very friendly, happy, etc...so i was kinda excited to meet him!!!! But then surprised that in person hes Really Different. Its not that big of a deal just funny how he really puts on a show for the camera...obviously a decent "actor" Lol. BUT...I DO AGREE with the review below on the Owl looking Sad...Why would you have an owl in the shop and hes in like a glass window kinda space...I mean its a Beautiful, Highly Intelligent, Wild Creature!!!...I dont know but doesnt look right AT ALL and I was also taken aback(not in a good way) as well when I saw the owl. Just give him to a wildlife rehabilitation center so he can have a Better Life and Environment...poor, poor thing....it is very Sad to see him (disturbing).

Parrots of the World is a wonderful place to take your family and find the perfect pet. Marc has a treasure trove of information and very generously answers all questions regarding animals in and out of his store. Marcs love for animals and his ability to help pet owners is evident with his special blend of realistic approach, mixed with common sense and a dash of humor. I had purchased my birds 10 years ago and being a first time bird owner, I bombarded him with a myriad of questions and general anxiety. Over the years Marc has always been available, reliable and patient. He has a knowledgeable and friendly staff, particularly Barbara who is always very helpful. The store is very clean and has many interesting items. Overall, Parrots of the World is a great experience to visit and a truly wonderful experience being its customer.

Recently went to visit over the weekend. I went, with the knowledge that they house some exotic pets. I came in through the municipal parking entrance. The overwhelming odor was what i expected from a pet store but the heat in that back room had me concerned for the overstocked animals. Almost every pen/ tank / cage was overstocked with too many animals per enclosure. I was deeply concerned with a small long haired kitten by the window that looked like he/she was suffering from heat exhaustion as it was panting very fast. It appeared as though the area did have an air conditioner, whether it was turned off or broken i dont know. The aquarium and Bird/ Parrot room was air conditioned although completely overstocked. I dont know how much business P.O.T.W gets but i hope the reason for so many animals is they usually sell quickly.

Long time visitor first time reviewer since I went very recently: 12/2014. Love this place. Been coming for many years, birds are friendly and healthy. Marc is knowledgeable and kind - sometimes he seems like he may not be nice but if you approach him and talk to him youll see. Animals are well kept and taken care of.. Ive never personally noticed any animal issues, filth, or odor as other reviews suggested...which was weird to me because Ive been there many times over the past 10 years. Prices are higher than big box stores, but (at least in terms of birds) you get an exceptionally superior animal. Overall very satisfied with the experience.

The disgustingly overcrowded poor conditions the birds are kept in is not a place my money would EVER fund. The back room birds are stuck in tiny cages with at least 4x as many birds as there should be in there. The baby birds are literally kept in small FISH TANKS right after birth. I walked in to see a mess of tiny fish tanks filled with little bald infant birds! How do you just shove a bunch of bald little infant parrots into a tiny fishtank!? Animal cruelty. Plus it is more than sad to see the poor lonely owl in its hole in the wall perch. Not a fan of businesses that animals, let alone treat them as if they arent even living beings. Sad.

Bought a blue and gold macaw for almost $2000 , drove two hours to pick it up after being told it was 1500$ , had green nape figured it was just a baby and that would change , turned out to be a mix with military macaw shipped from the opposite side of the country not a pure bread blue and gold macaw . Owners a lying thief and to add it to it the macaw was sick and I paid over 800$ in antibiotics , owner said it was just nervous and the contract said vet bill would be covered if it was found to be sick right away with it was only two days later I brought the baby to the vet . He never paid the bill as promised.

If I could give this no stars, I would. I was shocked when I visited the parrot room. There were way, WAY too many birds in very small cages. There was a mawcaw cage that might have been suitable for one bird (and I personally think it was too small for even one), but there were 7 birds crammed into it. They couldnt move. It was depressing and cruel and all the cages were like that. We originally went in for fish, but ended up not getting any because the fish were sick. Not a good experience.
