Although the sales rep that helped us was extremely nice, the delivery was not. We were suppose to get our furniture delivered on a certain day which we paid $120 for and a day before they were suppose to deliver it, they call to tell us it has been pushed back a week. Things happen, I get that but I asked if we could get a discount because we paid a good amount of money to receive it on a certain day and that is no longer happening. The answer was no and my girlfriend and I had no furniture for an entire week! When they finally brought the furniture and our $200 lamp, we go to plug it in and it doesnt even work!! You would think they check these things before they deliver. All they had to do was plug the lamp in for Gods Sake. The delivery guys took the lamp with them and its been 2 1/2 weeks and I have yet to hear anything from them to reschedule. I just called them to ask what the hold up was and they didnt even have an answer! They just never called! They said I can have it delivered Friday (while I work) or Ill have to wait two more weeks because Saturday is booked. I am appalled that they brought a broken lamp to my house, waited 3 weeks and did not call to reschedule and then told me I have to either take off work to get it or wait some more. I asked if they could please note that this was a result of their doing and that it should be a priority to drop it off. Its not like its a heavy piece of furniture! It would take one minute to deliver. The lady informed me that she would but that it most likely wont change anything. I wouldnt recommend any one buy from Value City. Once they get your money, they do not care about tending to your services anymore. Delivery is late, things are broken...I suggest going to Gavigans. At least there they bring your furniture on time! Good luck!

I write this review with honest words and a very sad heart…. Why sad? Sad because I was LIED to upon purchase of the furniture….. I recently purchased a nice couch set from Value City Furniture at Glenburnie/Pasadena on Mountain road I was so excited to be purchasing this couch because it was a real big thing for me to save the money and get the couch that I wanted. However the apartment house I live has very narrow stairs and upon purchase I told BRUCE BARR I wouldn’t even buy the couch unless they could lift the furniture through the very accessible sliding glass door on my 2nd floor it was flush to the wall so a truck could easily pull up and push the couch through. Past tenets have lived in this apartment house and they have done this. Bruce Barr said everything would be okay and that they will even take off the legs and I wouldn’t have a problem….. so delivery day comes and WE HAVE A PROBLEM the contract moving company would not life the couch. I really hope you are happy with LYING to your customers just to get a purchase from me. I spoke to the Manager Rick and again he said that they would attempt and assest the situation…. The delivery company did not do this… DO NOT BUY your furniture from value city… they are liars and will not do anything for compensation or even pay for the lift. … on a positive note if the woman in account were very nice and extremely help full they just have crooks up in front. I will be forwarding this review to everyone.

Horribly unprofessional from the start. First, our sales person was massively irritating my girlfriend by talking down to her like a child and only speaking directly to me, even though she was clearly calling the shots (treating her like an incompetent woman, aka "mansplaining." He always shook my hand first before giving a prissy weak fingers-only "woman" shake to my girlfriend). Then, when the delivery people came, they said the furniture wouldnt fit and that we would have to choose something else. When it was pointed out to them that larger furniture had been brought into the house through the same door and that they should try again a different way, they spoke to each other in a different language like they were annoyed. Eventually they rolled their eyes, called VCF and said the furniture wouldnt fit. Wouldnt you know, the furniture is sitting in my living room right now because they finally followed our instructions on how to get the furniture into the house. When we called customer service, the agent laughed at our experience and giggled when she said shed make a note. Unprofessional and condescending all around.

Found a couch that I absolutely adored at a reasonable price. The day of delivery the delivery "men" decided that the couch wouldnt fit through my door after about 2 minutes of trying to shove it through the door straight up the stairs. It was annoying that they didnt try to turn the couch on a different angle or something. They wouldnt take suggestions on how the couch could fit through the door or accept assistance from a friend of mine trying to help them. They were insistent that the couch just wouldnt fit through the door after no real effort of trying. The door is standard size, and I know people in the neighborhood with much larger furniture that somehow fit through the door of their apartment. Now my options are to try to get it delivered by a third party or find another couch. Very inconvenient and ridiculous! Im definitely going to take my money and find a couch somewhere else.
