I grew up in Baltimore County and Smyth was THE place to go for everything from my first set of earrings to my gold charm bracelet and everyones wedding registry. How disappointed I was to go to this long-trusted jeweler to sell gold and, mysteriously, the scale was 4 grams (about 3 pennyweight if I recall, I was so surprised I asked the person weighing it to give me a gram weight) shy of accurate. That is outrageous and it was confirmed when I went to another gold buyer whose scale also showed what a previous scale had read. I am glad I left Smyth and sought a third opinion. When I called Smyth with my concern, the guy I spoke with tried to dodge my concern at first, then said hed let them know. Honestly, this is appalling but the guy on the phone didnt sound too concerned. Also, Smyth offered the lowest amount for my gold of ANYone around. I am sorry my poor father who worked a blue collar job and gave years of payments to this business for my childhood gifts. Shame on Smyth. Disgusting.

I went into Smyth to get my wife a Mothers Day present. I worked with John Comer, who is a great guy, and he helped me pick out the perfect gift. I was also helped by Brett who was extremely nice. John Comer is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be and thats bottom line if you smell what Im cooking brother! He helped me climb the ladder and reach for the title of "Best Husband". My wife was so happy it was like her heart was a steel cage filled with love. Its true, its true, when you shop at Smyth you can chalk up another win for the good guys! After finishing my shopping I was able to Rest In Peace knowing I had a great gift. You cant see ME...shopping for jewelry anywhere else, can you dig THAT?

After running around all day to different jewelry stores trying to find our wedding bands I was more than annoyed and not optimistic. We randomly walked into smyth jewelers before dinner and it was the best decision!!! From the start the staff were all friendly, easygoing , professional and fun! John was patient with us and really helped make the experience positive. They were not pushy and did not try to up-sell us from our price range and worked with us to find exactly what we wanted. I wish we went here from the get go!! If you are looking for any kind of jewelry do yourself a favor and go here!!!

My husband and I went to Smyth in Annapolis to get our wedding rings. We had a wonderful experience and purchased amazing rings! John led us through our options and was patient with our (okay my) million questions. He showed us ways to save money and made sure we got a chance to see all of the options available! He let us try on as many rings as we wanted! We also got to sip adult beverages and enjoy fresh baked cookies ;). All in all, it was a great place to go for rings and we will be back!

So of course I had to go back to him to pick out the wedding bands. Same expectations as the first time I went and he did not let me down the second go around. John Comer at Symth Annapolis has been utterly fantastic at helping me pick out an engagement ring and our wedding rings. He worked with me for months assisting me with my diamond selection and went above and beyond in service. I even got a heck of a deal on the ring. Everyone at the store was friendly and courteous.
