Hello Fellow Consumers, I have been to Poplar Fine Jewelry on several occasions, first looking to buy an iPad2 at a discounted price and second I had some gold links from a gold chain that I wanted to sell. My first impression was this wasnt you run of the mill, sleazy pawn shop (sorry but that was always the perception that I had about pawn shops). I was greeted with a very warm hello and a "how may I help you", this immediately got my attention. I inquired about the iPad2 and they immediately began showing me various models that were significantly below the going retail rate. Brian couldn’t have been any more helpful. Courteous, attentive and most of all professional. If they would have had a 64 GIG iPad2 I would have been all over it. So now I decided why not ask the about the gold links that I had. I should share with you that I had been to several "so called" gold buyers in the 21236 and 21234 zip codes and guess what I discovered Poplar was 30% higher in actual CASH to me than the nearest competitor. I visited Poplar on a Friday after work without notice, interested in a first-time customer loan with no interest for the first 30 days. My transaction was fairly large and time-consuming, but Kevin, the manager, took care of me himself with a warm welcome and no wait. (I later learned that he was working the floor to give his weekend crew some well-deserved time off.) I was treated with resect and courtesy throughout the entire transaction, which was important to me as I find the pawn business intimidating. Kevin offered a larger loan amount than Id expected, pointed out the grace period on payback terms, and even graciously escorted me to my car himself. I was so pleased that I returned on Monday to sell some silver and gold pieces, and this time Chad conducted the sale with a bit of input from Kevin. Once again, the offer was better than expected without any haggling, and within an hour a mixed bag of outdated and broken pieces became easy cash in hand. Next trip, Im likely to be a shopper - because this place is a high-end showroom. GO THERE!

I have never pawned anything so I really have nothing to compare the process to. That being said I wouldnt have imagined it would be this easy. Within 10 minutes I walked out with a loan amount that I needed. I pawned my computer and as a first time customer I am given one free month to pay the loan back. No interest for a month! The guy who helped me was extremely helpful and didnt waste any time. The next time I run into a jam and need some quick cash I will absolutely be taking my stuff to Poplar. They have a great Ebay store as well that I have checked out and I will be buying some stuff from them once I get through these cold months and start making money again. The guy who helped me was very friendly and the service was great. Like I said in and out in 10 minutes and only needed my id.

I got my engagement ring here (at their Parkville location) one year ago and I was very pleased with the whole experience. I picked out the ring I liked with my now-husband and he went back later without me to buy it. I found out six weeks later when he proposed that he accidentally bought the wrong one! So we went back, explained this, and exchanged the ring no problem for the one I first picked out (which was still there). Both times everyone we dealt with was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Upon entering the location no one greeted me when I came in so I assumed I could go to the left where electronics were located. From tree I was greeted by a gentleman who was looking at my camcorder (overheard look in eBay) only 3 stars because they offered $20 and on eBay my camcorder was $125....did not leave a good impression on me where I was offered $50 at another location. All sellers do your homework on your equipment before bringing it here they will low ball you majorly

My husband and I had a wonderful experience today at Poplar Jewelry & Loan. Kevin, the assistant manager was extremely helpful, compassionate, fair and professional. We drove to 6 other pawn shops and none of them came close to the value Poplar Jewelry & Loan gave us. We will never go anyplace else. Thanks again for going over and above to help us!!!

I have never sold anything to a pawn shop. As soon as I walked through the door I was acknowledged. Dan helped me sell a ring that I had been holding onto forever. Ive sold movies, games, lap top, and jewelry to this location. I loved the experience. I walked in and was greeted and asked if I needed help right away. Never stayed in longer than 5-10 minutes. They get you in and out. Prices are very reasonable also. Always satisfied when going there.

Came in for a iPad2, they didnt have one at that location, had one in the Dundalk store. But they were willing to send the iPad to this store the next day for me to purchase at an excellent price. The device was practically brand new. If youre ganna go to a pawn shop, go here!
