Mansour was recommended to me by my boss at the time. I went there to have my white gold engagement ring rhodium plated, because it was becoming yellow (its 9 years old, so that is a normal process). When I showed it to the man who I believe to be the owner, he said the prongs on my ring were too worn, and I needed to have the whole setting replaced. Ok, I went with it since my boss told me he was great. He quoted me a price (for the rhodium plating and replacing the setting), and told me the day I could pick it up. When I came back for it, he charged me the price he quoted, however he had not done the rhodium plating, saying all it needed was to be polished. I felt ripped off, but after not having my ring for a few days, I didnt want to insist he keep it and do the rhodium, because by then, I really wanted my ring back. In the next few days, I started realizing that the prongs were unusually high and pointy, because they kept snagging on everything. A few weeks later, I moved away from Ithaca, and now one of my new prongs is already bent due to the snagging. Im very disappointed, and since I dont live in Ithaca anymore, I cant even bring it back to get it fixed, not that I necessarily would after that experience.

There was a time that a walk down the commons almost always meant a free smile and a "Good Afternoon" from David in front of Mansour Jewelry. He sold me the Rings my Wife wears. Mine too. Over the years its been a couple of necklaces, a bracelet or two. My wife got me a NICE Watch for my Birthday one year and they do any repairs or cleaning that needs done. I got a Beautiful Aniversary Clock that still chimes like the day I brought it home. Couple of years ago my Son worked with Dave and they BUILT an engagement ring like Id never seen! Recently a VERY nice young man spent some time with Dave and my Daughter ended up with another original WORK OF ART! ( She got a great husband and I got a son-in-law with a pickup)I have always been treated fairly and have never regretted a purchase. So its been 30 years this month, Pearls are called for. Im looking forward to the trip to Ithaca to see David.

Just got THE [only] RING [I own] resized at Mansour Jewelers on the Commons. Nice people, affordable, the gentleman did a great job, and although he originally said it might not be done until tomorrow, he actually got the job done in less than 2 hours . Price wise, this resizing was LESS THAN HALF THE COST that was quoted to us at the jewelers across town, and that place had a 2-week wait, AND they said would hold on to the ring the whole time, which made me a little sad. I just got this ring! I didnt want to let it go. Anyway, the man at Mansour was quick,and HONEST WITH PRICING - he did excellent work for us for peanuts... i only wish he had used a set of thinner rings to try "test" sizes on my hand, the old thick ones are tough (and a bit painful) to get past the knuckle...

David is VERY HONEST AND WILL NOT OVER CHARGE YOU. A very nice gentleman and someone i trust. Before going into Mansours i made the mistake of attaining a quote from a young man at a place up the road called Schooleys. He over quoted me so much that i feel i need to warn people (i have never written a review before now)- by so much, i mean thousands and thousands of dollars. I felt very upset by this, and very misjudged. My visit with Mansours reaffirmed my trust in jewelers and people in the business. I will definitely be telling friends around college about David at Mansours - MANSOURS IS THE PLACE TO GO. TRUST ME.

I went here to get my chain fixed. Its the only real jewelry I own or wear, but Ive had it since I was about 16 and it means a lot to me. The clasp was loose and it was occasionally falling off. I was afraid I might lose it, so I brought it in here to get it repaired. I thought there would be a wait, but they just took it in the back, fixed it, and brought it right back out. The clasp not closes correctly and I am no longer worried. The people here are really friendly and the guy wouldnt even take payment for his work. I would definitely recommend this place based on my experience.

I came here to buy a wedding ring, and walked out extremely pleased, with a lovely and well-priced "estate" ring. The service was attentive but not pushy, knowledgeable, and offered flexible/customizeable pieces. Ill be back to buy additional items. The selection is mostly classic -- rather than artsy or particularly innovative -- but if thats what youre going for then I highly recommend them. Very good prices.

Simply outstanding. Staff is friendly and knowledgable. I brought in an automatic watch that had been running fast. They sent it to their watchmaker who was able to demagnetize it, correcting the problem. They declined to charge me anything at all for the service. I will certainly continue to give them my business for all my watch and jewelry needs.

Great prices and excellent service. He explained everything to us and got everything done in less than 20 minutes. I had my engagement ring fixed (loose diamonds) and our wedding bands resized (and modified). He was really knowledgeable, patient, friendly. I will definitely stop by again to have my jewelry fixed or to purchase jewelry.

I walked in the Monsour Jewelers today with two broken watches, walked out in 5 minutes with two fixed watches in 5 minutes. I had a broken pin in one, free of charge and a dead battery in the other, it was all of $8. None of the jewlery stores in the mall would even give me a second look.

Had a watch repaired there towards the end of college before moving away to California. The watch started having problems again within 6 months, so with no fuss I shipped it back and they repaired it again and shipped it to me, free of charge. Watch still works so far!

Ive gone to Mansours for several jewelry repairs, and theyve always been prompt, reasonably priced and courteous. They are the best jewelry store in Ithaca, in my opinion. Ive felt ripped off going to other jewelers in Ithaca, but never Mansours.
