Purchased all of my Westies items from Petsmart of Covington. I no longer use the grooming department because one he never looks like the photographs and two I have to force him to go back there. Im not sure what they do with the dogs while they back there. Its obvious that they dont take him to the bathroom because he is quick to go once I have control over his leash. So I take him to another groomer whom he likes. However that is not the reason for my review. Recently purchased some rawhides. I always check the prices before I put them in the basket. These were new he never had these before thought I would give it a try. When I got home I noticed the price was difference on my receipt. I assumed I misread the displayed and didnt worry about it. Since my Westie loved this new rawhide I got them again but I doubled check before I went to the register. I didnt remember until I got home to make sure that I was charged the correct price. Yet again I was overcharged for the rawhides. Immediately called the store. Spoke with an associate and she verified that the price that I saw when I was in the store. She stated it would not be problem just bring in the receipts and I would be credited. So the next day I show up at Petsmart explained what happened and the associate stated that I needed to verify the price before she could refund it. I go back down the aisle and magically the price was changed. The associate called the manager over and I explained again what happened even gave her the associates name that I spoke with. She stated if there was a sale the price would be listed. She asked another manager if there was a price change and he stated no there wasnt. I took back my receipts, thanked them, and walked out the store. Instead of contacting the associate that I spoke with to verify what I was speaking of. They acted like there wasnt anything they could do. Please teach your people to be honest. Its bad enough half of the things I purchased there either broke the same day it was purchased or a few days later. Because according to the package the toys were hard to destroy. Lies...

I got the furminator treatment on my dog there which comes with a bath, ear cleaning, nail trim, and a furminator comb through. I was not called and told she was ready and when I go to pick her up I notice she is shedding considerably. I was told this is normal with the furminator treatment. When I get home I notice her nails were barely trimmed (just the tips cut off) and the dew claws were not trimmed all. She was still wet from the bath. Then I proceed to brush her down for a good 15-20 minutes getting off a considerable amount of hair. When I called to ask about this all they stated was that it was normal and that I needed to go through more treatments for the shedding to reduce. I understand the more you do it the better results however if I paid 59.00 I honestly do not believe that I have go home to brush my dog for another 15-20 minutes when she was at the groomer for 3 hours. Its just like saying hey you got a perm but you need to go home and curl your hair now. Its redundant and seems like a waste.

The first time, Kelsey L cut my dogs hair and she did a really great job. She was really nice and did exactly what I wanted.. so I returned. Angela cut his hair the second time. Despite me explaining exactly what I wanted, this girl literally did the exact same thing that I told her I was trying to avoid. I explained in grave detail exactly what I wanted her to do and then she did the opposite. Its like she did what she thought would look good rather than what I told her I wanted. Not only that, she didnt file his nails down so now when he has an itch, he starts bleeding everywhere cause his nails were clipped not filed so they are really unnecessarily sharp. He has scabs literally all over his entire body and I KNOW they were not there before I took him to get groomed. This groomer was EXTREMELY rude and non responsive to what I was telling her and I suggest that if you get your dog groomed here, you request someone besides this girl Angela.

I saw a lot of reviews about the grooming department and decided to add my own. I am very picky and particular about my dog. I do like how Petsmart grinds his nails and cleans his teeth, etc. when he gets the bath package. I dont like how they clip his hair. It looks choppy and uneven. So I just bring him here for the bath, sanitary clipping, and nail grinding. I let my vets groomer do the rest. I do wish service was faster. Like, how long does it take to bathe a dog? Certainly not 3 hours. If my appointment is a noon, I shouldnt have to wait until after 3 to get my baby. So, I will still use Petsmart but, again, only for these little things. It is a little pricey though, considering I can do everything at my vet for the same price as just the bath, etc. that I do at Petsmart.

I heard so much about pet-smart being better than the competitors so I took my dog. We had to wait at least fifteen minutes, longer than I ever had to at other places, before someone checked my puppy in and we were the only ones in line. When the groomer finally came to greet him he immediately started barking and growling at her. He never does that so that was strange. When I picked him up he was really happy to see me, thats normal, but he looked good. I picked him up and left. Heading home he was in my lap and I noticed that he still smelled. So I looked at his face and it was still dirty. I called and they were very apologetic and offer to take him back for a redo. But after reading the rest of these reviews, I not sure if I should even take him back!

very disappointed in the service for the amount of money i pay. I picked up my shih tzu who was trembling & later noticed he had scabs all over him from the clippers. one got infected and was the size of a half dollar. when i called, the woman said "it happens". when i spoke to management, they brought me in to the vet dept and treated the wound. Im fine with the actual store.... just NOT the grooming dept. I would never trust those people with my dogs.

Ive been shopping at the Covington Petsmart since it opened and have never had a bad experience. The employees go out of their way to be of service and the managers are super. They always take the time to help in anyway they can. The checkout is fast and the cashiers are pleasant and courteous. Ive never had a problem returning an item and you get treated with respect and courtesy. I will always shop at Petsmart, the service is beyond compare.

Never take your dog to PetDumb to be groomed!!! I have a female yorkie pup and she went in a little over due for a grooming and came home looking like a male schnauzer with a FuManChu and a half dozen extra buddies crawling all over her. Her groomer was so concerned with buzzing her head and neck that she didnt bother to buzz the the necessary sanitary parts. Even my pup was mad when I picked her up!
