I have been a customer to Banfield for the last 3 years. Both my cat and dog had been patients and we all really loved it for the first two years. The last year things have really gone down hill. I believe a combination of 2 very good vets leaving and the shear fact that they have way too many patients has caused service to drastically decrease. It is impossible to get someone on the phone that knows what they are talking about. You talk to one person and they tell you one thing and then you call back and talk to someone else and they tell you another. In the last year I have never once seen the vet in person to talk to her about issues with my pets. They always say that she is in surgery or busy with another patient but will call me later. I do get a call but when one of my pets is having an issue I would really like to talk to the vet not listen to her tell me something over my answering machine. I try and call back and I hear that the vet is in surgery! This situation makes me wonder if my pets are getting the attention they need or if they are being shuffled through so they can get to all of the many other pets waiting. Beyond the frustrating and unknowledgeable service that I have gotten that costs are outrageous. I took my dog in because he had a sore paw. They wanted me to drop him off all day so they could do x-rays. This was before anyone had even looked at him to know if the testing was necessary or not. I ended up taking him to another vet and they told me that it looked like a bruise and that if it didn’t stop hurting him in 3-4 days to bring him back then. Luckily he was back to normal the next day and I saved myself a lot of money. If you are not happy look around until you find someone that will give you what you are looking for and expect for your pets. I am now taking my animals to the Grimes vet clinic and have found that everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and above all great at what they do. In short I would not recommend settling for a vet.

If I could give this specific petsmart a zero stars I would. I just left. As I walked into grooming for a simple nail trim for my dog I was welcomed with dog poop and probably three different types of dog hair. I waited as the girls just chatted amongst themselves. After I checked my dog in, he was laying down, which he never has done in a grooming area, I shouldve taken that as a sign and left right then, he wouldnt get up for the groomer (tall, stocky, older woman with spiky blonde hair) since he wouldnt get up she dragged him on the floor until he got up. I shouldve left at this point but I didnt. After he was in he was leashed, and muzzled, no calming no petting or warm welcome. After she started he was trying to bark and apparently bite her but with a muzzle this isnt possible. I have never seen him act this way, (hes been getting nail trims for three years..) he started to jump up and the groomer used her body weight to keep him up against the wall. Enough was enough to me I went in and got him and just told them Ill just take him they responded with you need to take him to a vet hes trying to bite I said no he has NEVER acted this way, hes not the problem and left. I still paid as the groomers hacked away a few nails but I will NEVER return and I give a firm warning that if you want your family pet to be treated like a wild animal this is the place for you but if you want your family pet to be treated as though it is a part of your family find a different groomers.

This may be the way it is at most kennels, but requiring your pet to relieve themselves inside is kinda mean. it goes against all of their training to pee and poo indoors on a concrete floor. and they are asked to do this in the large room that is for play time. So what you end up with is a bunch of dogs running through and rolling around in pee puddles and and fresh poo. when we got our dog back after a 2 day trip she had the look on her face that she was in big big trouble, because she had peed on her bedding and hadnt pooped in 2 days. she smelled to high heaven (did not get the exit bath that we had paid for. although they did refund that charge, we still had to get our poo covered dog home for a bath) once we got her home she was in the back yard hunched over for an hour trying to poo and howling because she was so backed up. we had also paid to get her nails clipped, now I under stand that you dont want to cut to much off but they couldnt have cut less. it looked like they just walked her on concrete and called it good. the staff was snippy and rude and the drop off and pick up took forever even though we had all the paperwork filled out prior to dropping her off. the place kinda sucked.

We are fans of the Pet Hotel, but have recently discovered that we are NOT fans of the PetSmart Grooming Salon. 1. We specifically asked for a specific hairstyle. What we got was a hairstyle suited for a different breed of dog. 2. We specifically told the woman we did not want our dog to be shaved. In fact, we told her to leave the top long. When we picked our dog up, she had gouges of hair shaved off. Our dog looks as if she just had surgery. 3. We paid for a nail trim, but as mentioned in the previous review, they could not have cut off less. 4. When our dog became frightened of the razor, instead of trying to calm her down, they immediately shoved her in a kennel, where she proceeded to hurt herself and had to be taken to the vet. After visiting PetSmarts Grooming Salon, our dog now has the WORST haircut I have ever seen on a dog, super long nails, and an injury she now has to nurse. We will NOT be going back to this PetSmart.

I have nothing but the highest praise for the Clive Petsmart. We just completed our first puppy class with our 4 1/2 month Golden Retriever. I couldnt be happier with the trainer, Brad, that taught the class. Our puppy learned a lot and is much better behaved since taking the class. She got as much individual attention as she needed and Brad has a wealth of information and experience with all aspects of dog training, etc. We are going to enroll her in the intermediate class in the next month or so to continue her training. We are also using the Doggie Day Camp and are pleased with this also. Our puppy loves to go and comes home ready to rest for the night after playing all day with her friends. The staff all know our puppy by name and treat her very well. My puppy yanks me across the parking lot to get into the store as soon as she can, so excited! No complaints from this satisfied dog owner!
