UNPROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL- CRYSTAL (OFFICE MANAGER) EXCHANGED PROPANE TANK OUTSIDE THE STORE WHERE RECEIPT DIDNT DISPENSE, WENT INSIDE TO PRINT ONE FROM THE AUTOMATED MACHINE AFTER BEING INSTRUCTED TO MY SOME HEAVY SET BLACK WOMEN WHO KEPT CALLING ME GIIRRRRL. NO RECEIPT REGISTERED. NEXT DAY, I SEE A PENDING TRANSACTION ON MY BANK STATEMENT FOR $46.00 FOR THE FULL TANK. MINED YOU, THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE, BUT A RECEIPT PRINTED, SO IT WAS EASY TO PROVE. SO I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH CRYSTAL, OFFICE MANAGER WHO INSISTED THAT I EITHER USED A DIFFERENT CARD BECAUSE THE TRANSACTION DID NOT EXIST ON THEIR END, THEREFORE SHE CANT HELP.......BUT SEE DID SEE THE OTHER PENDING CHARGE FOR THE PURCHASE INSIDE THE STORE. I ASKED FOR A STORE MANAGER, AND CRYSTAL HUNGUP ON ME... IT BECOMES PATRONIZING WHEN CRYSTAL INSISTED THAT I USED A DIFFERENT CARD. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A PERSONAL INTERACTION AND MONEY IS REAL. WHEN YOU INSIST THAT IM NOT AWARE OF MY OWN ACTIONS YOU ARE INSULTING. I CALLED BACK AND SPOKE WITH SAGE, A STORE MANAGER, WHO REITERATED THE SAME, NOTHING SHOWN ON THEIR END, AND TO CALL BACK WHEN THE TRANSACTION IS CAPTURED IN TO A FINAL SALE ON MY BANKS END. I ALSO MENTIONED TO SAGE ABOUT CRYSTALS PATRONIZING CONDUCT AND TO CHECK HER ON IT. CRYSTAL THE OFFICE MANAGER DEMONSTRATED UNPROFESSIONAL AND CLASSLESS CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS.

If a customer says, "Im just looking around, thank you" that means you should NOT keep following them around the store telling them they have the wrong product and giving them advice. Dont be annoying and condescending. Also, I know this store probably deals with a lot of scammers, but if a customer asks you to verify a price, you should NOT get defensive and treat them like they are trying to scam you. Kill the attitude, and work on better customer service. Your prices are totally not that great for you to feel like treating people like trash is appropriate.

Although this is a beautiful store, the managing emolyees and security are racially profiling its customers. A family member (underage male and his friend) were forced to strip and prove they were not stealing a $3.00 plumbing accessory. After they found nothing, no apology, or explaination, video tape footage as proof they had reason to search. NO OFFICER WAS CALLED. this was done by security by intimitating these boys. MEXICANS BOYCOTT tihs STORE! Dont support racial profiling & bullying! Boycott 1233 165th Hammond Indiana!

This racist small town store allowed a cashier to open the merchandise while she was scanning the items. I asked her why is she opening 2 of my items ( bulbs and trash bags) she stated for the purpose of checking to see if other things were trying to get stashed in the box. I reported it to the front store manager which claims she is permitted to behave like that due to their store policy. What is the purpose of their security guard?

The first person we asked for help acted like she was to busy. Even though she was standing there doing nothing. But when we asked the other 2 people for help they were very helpful in helping us find what we were looking for. The people in the back of the store seem very helpful but every worker we encountered in the front seemed to be rushing and had slight attitudes even though it was not busy at all.

Staff is very helpful. Its the customers that suck. Move your fat a** out of middle of aisle. And nobody wants to hear your conversation. You are not the most important person in the world. And the people walking away from their cart and leaving it in the middle of the aisle... just rude. Do not want to be that person, but at least Schererville customers are considerate of each other.

They dont deserve a rating this is the worst Menards ever! They dont take returns from other Menards and they will threaten to call the police on you when you have a receipt and requesting a refund for a defective product. They show no concern or respect for customer who spends over $1000.00. Dont waist your money or time with this place .... your better off with Home Depo or Lowels!

Cashier "Danielle" refused to give discount for damaged merchandise, then baited a manager to concur with what she "thought" was policy.... lazy fat manager "Tira" flapping her lips like "yeah". Made us dig out the bad sheets go back and load up 2 more. Danielle rude as hell, "you wanna talk to a manager? "

bad costumer service if you ask them for something and they dont know what it is theyll tell you we dont carry it sorry. they told me that like 3 times and i end up finding what i was looking for by myself. Home depot got way better service i will not come to menards more they just lost a costumer.

Cant never find a worker on the floor then when you do they are really rude. Most of the cashiers have sticks up the butt. And the people inside of the store are getting more stupid. Why have kids if you cant control them then wana look the other person up and down. Worst store ever

Workers there dont know anything. Cant help you find anything. I went in with a photo of the item with a skew number, went directly to the service desk & still no help. Stood up there for 10 minutes waiting for my turn & eventually walked away. Bought it online at Amazon instead.

Stay away from this Menards especially if you are Latino are African American the staff and security are races as hell they will follow you and treat you like if you are a shoplifter . take your money where it is appreciated down the street to Home Depot this Menards is garbage

Waited for an electric cart. 27minutes. I spoke to the girl at the desk so she knew i was waiting. A women walked in and they told her to go to the checkout side and they gave her a cart...a store full of sales people and no one to assist me...what a shame!!

Staff is helpful and the cashiers always seem to consist of some good pretty ladies. They have a great selection and very fair pricing. Any place where I could pick up some tools, raw materials, and some beef jerky for my dog is top notch in my book.

Good customer service. I usually have trouble finding things in here, which is the reason for the 4 stars. The employees are very helpful and always show me where to find what I came for. I have not had any problems.

yelp, help is on the way!! This Menards is being completely torn down and rebuilt fron the ground up. It will be much larger equally the largest stores that Menards has anywhere. Cant wait for the new Menards!

This store sells more than home improvement supplies, you can get a little bit of everything here for a good price. Paper towels, tp, school snacks, laundry set.,curling iron, etc.

The Hammond store is well stocked, clean, and its employees are knowledgeable, polite and helpful. I found everything I needed, including eggs at the amazing price of 55 cents!

Snobbish employees and management. Have zero concern for customer property or relations. Save yourself hell and money and go to the Home Depot down the street.
