I went to purchase some lumber from the store, ordered it from the building material dept, got the pick-up list for the outdoor yard and paid for it. I drove to the gate of the entrance to the yard and showed the person my list. He looked at it and directed me to the entrance of the building where the lumber was to be. He also told me that the treated lumber would be along the fence as I drove towards the building entrance 17. The treated lumber was elsewhere and not where I was told, so I decided to pick up my plywood which was supposed to be at entrance 17. I drove thru there looking for it unable to find my particular order. Couldnt find any one for help either. So I decided to drive all away around and went in at entrance 18 and found someone. I showed him my slip and asked where I might find my materials. I also made a comment that the people at the gate obviously had no clue where anything was. He told me that the plywood was located back in the main building where I made the purchase and the treated lumber was further down the building I was in. He also told me that the only training these people at the gate get is one look thru the yard. So here I was wasting my time looking for the stuff as if I had a lot of time to waste. I was a little upset at the situation so the guy offered to help me load up the plywood into my trailer and that he would meet me by the door of the main building after I loaded up my treated lumber. Every time I shop at Menards and have to pick up stuff from the yard, its a time waster as one has to search for the stuff because no one can tell you where its at in the first place. I dont understand why when you order building materials and need to go into the yard, the list of materials dont specify which building they are in. This would save a lot of time and money especially if one is a contractor. It seems to me that I lose a half a day of work just having to chase materials at Menards.

My husband and I were at this store Sunday August 21...... along with another couple we aw a display that advertised Menards T Shirts and Caps 2 for $ 5.00. We selected 3 caps and 4 T Shirts. Upon checking out they were not ringing up for the price on the the display. Floor manager was called to verify the price.... he came not stairs and stated that they were not 2 for $ 5.00 indicating that I was wrong. I told him I would go back with him to how him the sign. The sign had been changed and I was told that I was lying. I asked for the Store Manager ...... explaining what happened to him was a mistake he was rude, loud, an apparent racist ( I didnt mention my husband and I are Black ) and a _ _ _ hole. The other couple was a White couple was at the checkout purchasing their caps and shirts ( they purchase a lot 20 or more...... they were helping us fine the sizes we were looking for, very nice people! ) with no problems. I have never been so humiliating in all my 66 years on this earth. To tell a person that they are lying about a display sign is one thing...... for the Store Manager John Hempel to uphold the lie and say " whats the big deal " to a customer is not good service. John Hempel offer no apology for what happened. It was apparent that someone didnt do their job that night before. I will call the Corporate Office and follow with a written complaint as well as a complaint to the BBB. My family does a lot of business with this store ( the old store was much friendlier ) Menards is losing good customers some of my friends have experienced the same service that we had. Thank God for Social Media!!!

This Menards is terrible. I used to shop here three days a week. The store is always out of stock of the items you need. Plumbing, Electrical, Building Materials - all these departments have no stock of basic products that even a corner hardware store should have - pipe hangars, gas pipe fittings, PVC fittings, switches, receptacles, drywall mud. Try walking through the plumbing dept - there are tons of bins that are empty of product or contain the wrong product and nobody cares or even notices. When you ask them to check the inventory it becomes obvious that there are not any products on order because the inventory counts are so far off that the automatic ordering never even happens. They often try to blame it on the "small" size of the store? Its just an excuse for poor store management - the Gary (yes, Gary - its not Griffith) store even has better inventory control. Also, they routinely dont carry many of the items featured in the sales ads because they claim the store is too small.

The new store is nice and has everything. The only complaint I have is I purchased one rebate item and several others but when I went to the register it rang up higher than calculated. What happened is there was another rebate on an item that was not advertised on the shelf as a rebate so I took the item back. However, they failed to give me the rebate mail in for the weed and feed which I discovered when I got home. Therefore, I will not be getting a rebate for that item. When we walked in kids were hammering nails in a board but when my son 12 asked to try it he was told by the guy working that he had to be 18 so he was letting some kids but not others. Anyway, I had a rough first visit but I may try again. did purchase 30 oz. Palmolive for 99 cents, 24.5 oz. cereal for 1.99 and trash bags for 99 cents and that was worth it. Recommend watching the rebates that are not advertised.

Not good tried to buy outside cushions ask the salesperson if the right price was on those cushions she told me yes when I got to the register they price was doubled went back and talk to the manager and the original person that told me that you were price and they just said so what too bad they could not lower the price actually they were not lowering the price it was you original price I had been told but when I spoke with manager again he said he could not lower the price even though merchandise was all in the wrong spot even though I had asked one of the associates and they told me that was the correct price which was only 12 99 instead it was 2399

I used to love this store, actually the old hardware store. I could go in & get what I needed. Now that its not a hardware store any longer I waste to much time walking past food, beds & everything else that a real hardware store wouldnt have in it. Really a piano player on the second floor, what is that about? Then they put items that require a lumber cart upstairs but dont put any lumber carts upstairs. They should have kept hardware on the first floor & put all the other crap on the second floor. The only thing I like about Menards anymore is being able to drive around to the yard to load my truck. Im now taking my business to Home Depot & Lowes.
