Mulch process is cumbersome and not worth the hassle. I dropped in this morning just to pick up four bags of mulch. After wandering around the store looking for the mulch, I finally had to ask someone. She told me that I was supposed to tell the cashier what I wanted and then pull up to the "mulch pit" where they would load it for me. So After waiting in line, I finally tell the cashier, "I want four bags of wood chip mulch" and she wants to know what kind. Far away from the cashier are little bins of the different kinds of mulch that you can look at to decide, but now Im holding up the line. Once I make the decision, she rings me up and I head to my car with no further instructions. There is no sign that says "mulch pit", so I drive in the direction of all the stacks of mulch. All I find are about 10 guys trying to load large pallets of mulch with forklifts. I drive around twice. When I finally see someone with the orange vest, I roll down my window to ask how to get my mulch. In a frustrated tone he says, "If youll give me a minute, Ill get it for you." He gets off the forklift tells me to open up my hatch, throws four bags in and says, "sorry were really busy." But the way he threw the mulch in, my hatch wouldnt close, so I still had to get out to rearrange it so the hatch would close. Its always a bad sign when employees are too busy to help customers.

Last week I shared a pretty horrible experience, ironically, on a Monday night as well. My what a difference a week makes. First of all, after my review, I was contacted by Michelle, one of the managers at the Powell Ave store who shared her concern for customer satisfaction as well as making sure her employees were well taken care of. She expressed that Home Depot as a company, had heard the concerns of customers and was in fact bringing in new management, such as herself, to help turn the store around. Second of all, I was asked to help a friend move on this particular Monday night and because of our schedules we were working late into the evening again. Upon showing up to rent a truck we were met with smiles, laughs, and jokes from Kia, who was working the late shift that night. Again, pushing 10 oclock upon returning, it was like nothing had changed. She was super friendly and made us feel like we were returning the truck at noon instead of closing time. Rarely do I leave negative reviews because there are usually enough of those. Last Monday was out of my control and was the reason I was particularly upset. Tonight, a much different experience. Its obvious, that Michelle and the team at the Powell Ave Home Depot are listening to customers and addressing concerns! Thanks Powell Ave HD. See ya soon!

Great store, great prices. The employees are always helpful and willing to take care of your needs. Ive noticed several negative reviews and they all seem to stem from people expecting employees to drop what theyre doing and rush to the aid of someone who hasnt even asked for assistance. Thats not their job. Professional contractors make up a fairly large chunk of customers in here and they know what they want, where to find it and either are able to haul things out themselves or they bring someone from their crew. The employees are there for those who NEED HELP. However, not being psychic, it really is a boon to actually ASK FOR HELP. You will notice something magical when you do - they will either set off to help you right away, or if it isnt their specialty, they will find the person whos the expert on duty who CAN help you. Seriously, complaining about nobody coming over to help you is like saying you walked into the ER, didnt check in, sat down on a chair and cant understand why they didnt treat you when it was OBVIOUS you had a stomach ache. Get a clue before writing a bad review. All that being said, the store is clean, organized and as I said before, the employees are very helpful if you simply open your mouth and ask.

My roommate and I came in and purchased a very large carpet today (about 12x15 feet) No sales associates helped us get the carpet to the front of the store. I had to track down an employee and ask for help and all he did was give us a cart to put it on after seeing its size. We are both small people and, frankly, could have hurt ourselves getting the huge carpet from where it was standing with the other carpets to the cart and up front to pay. The checkout lady almost charged us $30 more than what the ticket price said. The only person who was helpful at all was a man named Leo who helped us get the carpet to our car. He tied the carpet on top of our car and did his job quickly and efficiently. The one star Im giving this particular home depot is for him. Ive never had such poor service at a home depot before.

Ive never felt so well taken care of in a home improvement store! We just bought a new house so we have that "new home buyer smell" about us that sales associates have been sniffing out pretty easily. Brittney gave us our space when we needed to make up our minds about what we were looking for, called every home depot store to look for the item we finally picked out, and when she had no luck with that, she helped us find a spectacular compromise. She was so sweet and so helpful, and even seeing her interact with other customers, you could tell she really cared about providing excellent customer service. Thank you so much, we plan on coming here for our home improvement needs a lot more!

We came to Nashville to help relatives move into a new house. We made several trips to this home depot to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise. On 6 different items the online quantites were in the double digits but the store had zero on the shelf. We wanted to purchase a 2.5ga gas can. Online there was 99 in stock. No one, including the employees could find them. Light bulbs, 62 in stock online, 0 on the shelf and again the employees couldnt find them. This went on and on. I complained and the employees said I should call corporate and complain because their inventory is always way off. Unacceptable. Worst Home Depot ever.

I cant speak for the whole Store but the new manager that is maintaining the loading dock is awesome. This is my second interaction with her and just watching her crack the whip on these entitled contractors is awesome. Im pretty sure her name is Chris . I usually try to avoid the store but it was the closest one to where I happen to be working this week. Not having to put up with one more jerk is awesome because we all have to all day long anyway ..... Whatever she is making its not enough to reign in all of Nashvilles Napolean complexes but Im glad someone is. Thanks Chris you make me not hate HD.

Everyone knows the Home Depot on Powell Avenue in Nashville Tennessee is the busiest store in the country. Why is it that it is so drastically understaffed? A store turning over that kind of business needs twice as many people as it currently employs. I spent several years at the small 747 store in Winchester Tennessee. At any given time the small box store in Winchester has more employees on the floor than the big Store on Powell Avenue, and that makes absolutely no sense. As a builder in Nashville, Powell Avenue needs to get its act together and hire enough help to run the store
