In your face salesmen. chop shop for used cars, they seem to have odometer disconnected or rollbacked miles and it seems after buying the cars from auctions all under 3,000 dollars (impounded by police for rolling meth lab cars, previous owners all had their car impounded for possession of some kind of narcotic) they basically have a network of salesmen and pickup MEET YOU TONIGHT men. They have an inventory of 100,000 - 140,000 mile vehicles picked up from all over big citiy auctions and pounds, broward county florida pounds and sell them overpriced if you buy from there. Warning for CRAIGSLIST, if you go to craigslist they send a fake SIU student named omar or some other made up middle eastern name to meet you and sell you a car at private sell price. he plays the part of nice guy very well but his intentions are to sell you junk car lemon and he goes back to his boss to split the profit 50/50... but again its a roll of dice on what you are truly getting. they do some repairs and mostly cover ups just enough to sell vehicle 1,000 over the good condition price and then there is some mystery about the actual miles. NOT ALL CARS THEY HAVE ARE BAD BUT THE WAY THEY PRICE IS TOO MUCH AND SOME OF THE CARS NEED BIG MONEY REPAIRS..BUYER BEWAR. Stay away THESE MEN ALSO SELL ON CRAIGSLIST UNDER PRIVATE PARTY NO DEALER BUT THE VEHICLE DOES COME FROM THIS JUNKYARD OF DRUG CARS...you call about a car on craigslist and he answers your ad for Carbondale....or southern illinois area then you got your car not from a regular person but from one of their posers pretending to be a student that needs to sell his car. As far as BBB anyone can copy and paste that logo to their website....but research the Illinois consumer fraud cases on this place. Now, with all the negative said, if you can get a car at private party price then buy from them but understand that you must do your homework on the VIN. This girl i knew bought a car from them that worked out good so far but other SIU students told me do not buy from this place because they are under investigation....Again, this is what I was told from SIU students, they have all bought problem cars and reported Best Buy for wrongdoing....this place is a gamble and they clear the SERVICE ENGINE SOON and CHECK ENGINE lights before selling car. If anyone ever shows up late to meet you then that should be a red flag, he is trying to clear the CHECK ENGINE light!!!! buy the car only after taking it for a second drive --this time to the gas station and put some gas in it. look at the car in both the day and night and check to see if the brites work and all lights, check the oil or better yet just take with you a trusted mechanic who has the OBDII scanner to tell you what kind of problems the car has and what they are hiding. Shut off the car and turn it on 4 times and drive it around a total of 4 hours before buying... over a 48 hour period do not make decision force them to come down on price because the cars they have need work...do not rush to buy. and drive it hard enough to see if the CHECK ENGINE light comes back on. If the light comes on do not buy the car--it is the whole reason why they sold it to you. They flip problem cars that nobody wants and turn a profit. CARFAX IS not enough, shady dealers like this can make changes to the carfax and totally edit the miles and put in fake service records. the attorney general is aware of their dealings and is building a case against them that will soon be on the news. the positive reviews below are from the same guys that run this operation.

Purchased a Mitsubishi Eclipse back in 2015. Immediately started having issues with the vehicle running. Car would die at stop lights or anytime vehicle wasnt in motion. Quickly figured out the alternator was bad. Called Best Buy up they said to get it fixed and send them the bill I just figured I could attempt to do it myself so I did. Cost for alternator was approximately $120. I didnt send them the bill because I really loved the car and I figured when you buy a used car your buying someone elses problem but little did I know there would be further issues down the road. Not long after that repair the car needed brakes and rotors all the way around.....next up was a tire total cost $260. This was all within 2 months of purchase. The car seemed fine for the next several months without issue but then needed another tire and now a left front wheel bearing total cost right at $400. Another 3 or 4 months went by and now enters the major repairs. First of all couldnt find a mechanic willing to work on the motor (sounded like a bag of rocks in the engine), had our normal mechanic tell us it needed a new engine and he wouldnt tackle it. Finally found a guy who was familiar with this type of engine and he found out the following: car had original plugs and wires (car has 160,000 miles on it now) and needed a new timing belt and water pump. The one thing that irritates me the most is Best Buy assured me it had a new timing belt (it was even advertised that way) but the mechanic said it was an OEM belt that should have been changed at 70,000 or thereabouts and only the front 3 plugs had ever been changed. The back 3 were OEM plugs. Mechanic told me belt was so worn you could see the imprint of the teeth through the flat side of the belt and that I was VERY lucky that belt didnt slip or it would have ruined the engine. Total repair cost this go around was $700 and that was not taking it to a business mechanic. The mechanic was a hobbyist gearhead or it would have been a whole lot more Im sure. So the car runs and sounds AWESOME now since being properly repaired even with 160,000 miles on it.....even the mechanic loved the sound of it after repairs and said it purrs when it runs :-) I love my car all over again but its very frustrating to be told a tune up and new timing belt had been done when it was clearly not true. If you buy from them I would certainly take it as a grain of salt with anything they say that has been done mechanically with it. Take it to a repair shop quick and have everything checked out first. It could save you loads of $ down the road. As with this case, $1600 in repairs and I havent even owned it 2 years yet!! Best Buy Auto: You misread the review I have only owned the vehicle for a little over a year not 2 1/2 yrs as you mention in your reply. Car was purchased in late 2015. Most issues came up right after the purchase and yes I did mention in my original post that I am aware you are getting someone elses repair issues as you pointed out; however, my complaint was it was advertised as having a new timing belt and tuned up but it clearly was not.

I bought a 2005 Hyundai Accent GT knowing it needed a lot of just routine maintenance that I was willing to do. This place politely ask you to keep your test drive under 15 minutes. I agreed and found nothing wrong with the vehicle that wasnt easily fixable on my level. So before I purchased the vehicle the salesman assured me, we stand behind our vehicles 100% multiple times and I had stopped and looked at this vehicle several times. I only drove it twice and had no major problems, while of course keeping my test drives under the 15 minute rule. As I drove the vehicle home, which was over a 15 minute drive the car shifted down into 3rd and would not go into 1st or overdrive (which is an automatic transmission). So I went had the maintenance done and then took the car back to them and the owner told me that his mechanic was not able to fix this issue and recommended me to a place in Carbondale to fix it. The place, Eddies Auto Repair. He was very nice and looked at my car and said he did not want to attempt the repair because he believed it was a internal transmission problem and he did not charge me for his service which I was still willing to pay his checking fee anyway. Very honest nice person to do business with!!!; and will get my future business when and if needed. But now Im stuck with a car that has everything working correctly that uses no oil, has new brakes, completely tuned up, a good exhaust, beautiful interior for 100,000 + mile car (basically completely functional) except for a jacked up transmission that Best Buy Auto wont stand behind as they so frequently stated. If they are standing behind it, they are standing way back behind it as if it is in their past and dont want to deal with it. They are very nice people and did try, but not following threw with what they tell their salesman to assure customers of is putting a bad taste in my mouth and Im going to go talk with them again to see if they will try to work with me on what I bought and replace the vehicle for what I bought it for as credit toward a different one. I will update this as I go. Jonathan Beach
