Their facility is very nice as are the people. The lot security is a little strange but understandable. My salesperson was very knowledgeable about the sales process and paperwork. They brought a car I was interested in from another Carmax site. Buyers should take note that many of their cars are former fleet or rental cars they bought at an auction. This assures the buyer that routine maintenance work was probably done on schedule but with multiple drivers (like having multiple owners) its difficult to know how the car was driven. We got an OK estimate (although Im guessing it was their standard "auto auction" estimate) for our 1999 trade in. The car I bought was a 2014 and the price was in line with Edmunds. The car had some scratches on the rear bumper that needed to be taken care of at a body shop. They sent it out and I was without a car for almost 4 days. When the car was returned to me, the scratches were fixed and the car looked fine. However, on closer examination most of the car had either an overspray or tree sap on it that wasnt there when I dropped it off. I took it back but they said they wouldnt send it back to the body shop and they wouldnt tell me the shop it was sent to. They suggested I use a polish and clean it off myself. I tried this but but wasnt successful. I contacted two local car detailers and they said it would cost between $70 and $200 to take care of it. I called Carmax, told them this, and asked again if they would take care of it. After a few days their tech finally called me back and told me that one of their managers on loan from another site would take care of it as he knew about car finishes. This was a nice gesture, but I decided that Ill take it to a professional and drop off a copy of the bill with Carmax. (UPDATE: I took the detailer bill to Carmax and they paid it in full. My thanks to them for doing that. I dont know if this would change my mind about buying there again but Ill include them in my search.) Another thing to note is a few times when I called, someone at Carmax in another city answered. At least twice I left a message and was told the local Carmax would call me back and either they never did or called days later. Overall I was OK with the experience but I probably wouldnt buy there again and cant say that Id recommend them to others.

I went to CarMax 08/19/2017, at approximately 2:00 p.m. me and my friend. She said " because it was hot she was going in to sit down in the cool air". I was on the lot for at least 30 minutes and not 1 salesperson came outside and asked me for help or how are you doing,? let me know if I can help you etc.. for 30 minutes. I was pissed off! When, I was walking through the building leaving, my friend told me that "nobody" greeted her, she sat at a table for 30 minutes not one salesperson said Hello! how are you doing? Can we help you? I know I will not shop at CarMax ever again! I give them the 2 middle fingers!!!!!

This was our first experience with CarMax and they hit it out of the park! The staff were very helpful, explained everything clearly and answered all of our questions. We had already taken our vehicle to other places for appraisals and CarMax offered not only the best price but reasonably close to KBB. We also purchased a car from them and it has been perfect for our needs. After purchase I took it to the manufacturer dealership for an inspection and found that it was in perfect working order, right down to the oil change! We will definitely do business with the Bloomington CarMax again in the future!

This from a customer who purchased twice from CarMax in Tucson, AZ in the past 2 years. I was such a fan of CM, having awesome experiences twice in Tucson. When I went to Bloomington CM, it was not at all the same. Possibly if I were able to walk and buy from the lot, it would have been better. I VERY disappointed with the lack of responsiveness after I left. My experience in the past is that I can still text the sales person from my original purchase. In Bloomington, I couldnt get an email response. I went back to the traditional dealerships.

I had the absolute best experience here! This CarMax has one of the most amazing, caring, considered, truthful, and down to earth staff Ive ever had the pleasure of associating with! They work with you in every way to make your car buying experience as swift and enjoyable as possible; I definitely recommend getting a car from here! If it was possible I would give them a 6 star rating instead of five thats how good they are; they most certainly exceeded my expectations!

Bought a 2015 Lexus RX350 in Sep 2016. Its supposed to be certified car. Come December 2016 took the car back because car battery kept draining. Jump started a few times and one day I had to call the tow truck to jump start. Took it to CarMax. They would like to charge $65 for diagnostics. If the battery needs replaced thats additional and more labor costs. Poor customer service after you buy your car there. I am not going back in there again.

This is our second purchase at Carmax. This is a fairly new dealership. I like the fact the no-haggle pricing and no pressure to buy extended warranty is great. Ive done a lot of shopping around and I found the price at Carmax fairly reasonable. Other that it took too long for my car to be transfered, the staff did try to fix the problem. I appreciate Katie my sales rep, she was very accommodating. Now Im enjoying my 2015 Lexus NX 200t!

The staff was very polite and professional. The building is also nice. Unfortunately I was shocked at the low ball appraisal for my car. Its a 2015 vehicle with 15k miles. Its in perfect condition. KBB said my car was worth 24k trade in and 26k private party. I was offered 19k. What a joke. I also looked at their cars while I waited and was not impressed. One star for a courteous staff.

The people were very nice. But I drove two hours to have an appraisal Done on my vehicle and it was no different then going to a normal dealership, When it came to the value of my truck. I dont recommend going there if you think they are going to be any different then a dealership. They were rated for offering higher then kbb and normal dealerships but they offered less the kbb on my truck.

My experience with Carmax Bloomington was very good. I asked them to transfer a truck from Ohio. When I saw it in person I knew I was going to purchase it. I ended up getting a Black 2012 Ram 1500 Sport. My first truck and I rather drive it than any other car Ive owned. Everyone at the dealership was nice and friendly. Also give a big thumbs up for the call center for Carmax.
