Im a regular customer of this place but not for too long . yesterday I got a seal package (30$) of meat , two hours later I open it and it was disgusting rotten . Usually I throw the stuff on the garbage and dont bother on WAISTE my time of driving to the place and return it . Today I did it , they already screw our dinner last night and it was a 30$ meat package . I didnt save my receipt because usually I dont do it for meat and bread but seems that at this place you really need it if you dont want a bad attitude from the unwelcome customer service . Even if I dont have the receipt I found the credit card transaction on my bank and most important the expiration date on the package was 21 days ahead of today . They question me about when I bough it and its simple , if you have a doubt call your meat Dep manager , that meat cant be old just check the sticker on the package ! And dont give attitude to a customer after all I waste my time yesterday , you ruin my dinner and I waste my time today . Plus if that wasnt enough they only give me store credit and at the check out 3 credit cards bounce ( I can pay about 4 thousand times the amount with all those cards ) and waste another couple of minutes until your decay store system start working again . Where is the "Im sorry for the inconvenience "???? You should change your customer service attitude , stop selling rotten meat , and stop been cheap on the check out system and payroll . Look around you , and learn from the supermarkets expanding in your nose .... And very soon one half way between this place and my house .

Ive had only good experiences at Fairway of Plainview; however, a recent issue involving Fairways corporate Customer Service office has me a little peeved. I recently purchased a very large bottle of Fairway brand Pure Castile Soap for $9.99. It was on a floor display, so I dont know if it was a one-shot deal or not. Anyway, the soap itself is fine, but the label on the bottle completely bled off the minute it contacted water, leaving stains all over our shower. I was able to eventually get it off, and I needed to re-grout anyway, so when I contacted Fairway by e-mail, I wasnt looking for any kind of freebie or settlement. I made it clear that I just wanted to know if this issue would be addressed before I bought another bottle. The first time I wrote, I received a form letter by e-mail saying that they would be contacting me within 72 hours. When I did not hear from them in over a week or more, I wrote again, explaining that this was my second e-mail and that I would like to hear back from them before I consider re-purchasing this product. Once again, I immediately received a form letter saying they would contact me within 72 hours. Its now at least a week (maybe two) later and I have not heard a peep. This leads me to believe that Fairway is trying to somehow - and for some reason - cover up a product defect, and this makes me question whether I want to give them any more of my money, regardless of how much I enjoy shopping at the Plainview store.

My biggest complaint is the recent quality of their bakery, which used to be incredible. I used to go there just to pick up their chocolate ganache cake. Lately, they only apply a thin layer of chocolate ganache on top of the cake, when it used to have it on each later, and surrounding the sides of the cake which kept it moist. The last 2 times Ive bought it, the cake has been completely dried out and has tasted awful. I thought the first time was just a one time thing, but i guess this is how they make it now. I assume the chocolate ganache is expensive, but they should change the name of the cake, because the quality is not even close to what it used to be. It looks like they did the same thing with all the other cakes, removing the frosting from the sides - which Im sure dries them out quickly as well.

I went with my girlfriend out from the North Woodmere area to the Ikea in Hicksville to pick up some stuff, and figured Id give this place a try. Great selection, totally my new favorite supermarket - although the distance is a bit excessive! I have to agree with yelsirgany, the market was far to busy and it was very frustrating trying to shop while mobs of people jabbed around with shopping carts. I dont get that in the King Kullen or Pathmark out here, but thats also because their selections dont compare to Fairway at all. Excellent bagels and spreads, too. I will be coming back when I have the time and will to go for a ride.

The market is unbelievable, excelled cheese selection ( one of the best places in LI ), great meats, grains, etc. But the crowds there are VERY RUDE. I like a good french baguette, but I dont need to fight someone over it. Nothing ruins a shopping experience like people trying to run you down at the parking lot before you even walk in the place, then proceed to shop amongst the most annoying shoppers bumping you with their cart, pushing people around and bossing their spoiled children. Do yourself a favor and go there when other shoppers are not there!

Fairway is awesome but make sure you come with your wallet full of cash because it is also expensive. I, for one, do not mind shelling out my hard earned dollars on their delicious products from their olive bar, deli, and bakeshop. Everything I have ever purchased has been fresh and delicious. Its a bonus that they carry a lot of products that you will not find anywhere else.

I absolutely LOVE fairway market. Its quite a hike coming from the South Shore of Long Island, but every trip is worth it. They have an amazing salad bar (easily the best Ive seen), and their selection of both organic and conventional foods are incredible. I cant say enough great things about this place. Their prices are even amazing!

Loved Fairway in Lake Grove, too bad they closed it. Tried this one and definitely not going back. Got bad shrimp salad from the seafood department. Place didnt look as clean as the Lake Grove store was. Should have walked out as soon as I walked through their doors, but stupid me decided to give it a shot.

It would be a five but the staff is REMARKABLY unhelpful and not all that bright. It seems as though they go out of their way to provide lower IQ folks with employment but its at the expense of their customers. The actual food selection is great but if you have any questions about anything dont bother.

The absolute best supermarket on Long Island. From the bakery to the fresh fruits and vegetables, the deli, butcher, cheese, coffee, and natural market, this is the THE place to go for great selection. The place can get way crowded at times but its well worth it for the experience.

Very disappointed at the direction the store has taken. Seems to be moving toward many prepackaged items rather than freshly offered , such as cheeses, pate, etc. Usually spend between $300-500 at Christmas time, this year, with no service or help in departments, barely spent $100.
