I used to go to the Pet Supplies Plus on 87th and Ridgeland, but it was a bit of a hike from where I lived--so when I saw that a new one had opened at 115th and Kedzie, I was so happy!! The selection here is phenomenal, and the service is great. Im in there every day or two--long story, involving the worlds pickiest cat--and theyre always helpful and friendly--AND, whats more amazing, they let me exchange cans of cat food when my picky eater decides that he doesnt like a flavor/brand/etc anymore. I love this store!!

I tend to favor local small businesses over chains, but the family-owned pet store in this shopping plaza is frequently out of crickets, rats, and mice, so Ive stopped wasting my time trying to patronize them. Pet Supplies Plus always has frozen mice and rats in stock, but their prices are astronomical compared to Animal Island in Crestwood.
