I bought a sectional couch with chaise just 4 years ago, and it is the worst money ever spend on a couch. Ive spend half the money on my other couch which is a reclining sofa that I have in my basement from Wickes probably 7 years ago and it is still comfortable and in tact. This couch the cushions that are foam after just 2 years have lost their shape from my son sitting on the chaise part. Then in the summer I noticed the other side of the couch the fabric on the end cushion was separating and fraying. I purchased the fabric protection and when I contacted that company, they denied the claim. Last November I purchased a new bedroom set-which was only based on cost-the other one from Steinhafels would have cost me $3500-5000 based on the pieces purchased. So I went with one from VCF and I am very unhappy with the finish. You could blow on it too hard and it scratches the finish, had technicans out a few times to touch up some of the pieces, then the majority of the drawers swelled when the weather warmed up and I couldnt open them and had to wait almost a month in half to get a workable appt so that they could come work on them. Then after that I discovered a drawer was damaged. The technician came back out and they had to order a new drawer-this was the end of March, and it was suppose to be 6-8 weeks. At the end of May I stopped in VCF gurnee to check on it and they were like oh its on back order until the end of JUly. Mind you nobody called or notified me in anyway. So then again months passed and I heard nothing from VCF gurnee. I stopped in about 2 in half weeks ago and they told me the drawers were in, but they no longer had them? WHAT???? Again I was not called, I went back and forth to the store about 5 times to talk with them, drop off the drawer they were going to try and repair. Pulled the best one from the floor set-that needed some touch-up. After two weeks of calling every couple of days to check on the drawer-I got a call friday that the drawers were ready. I went in Saturday and they tell me, No they are not ready. Now seriously, this is getting to be just to much. Manager comes out talks with me, goes back and says I dont know what happened, but here is the drawer. I get home put it in the storage part of the bed, and the manager didnt pay attention to the fact that it was the bed storage drawer and gave me a dresser drawer. GRRRRR.....drove back to the store and talked to him yet again....he is so lucky I kept calm and didnt yell. Finally brought me the right drawer and said sorry, But the sorry is a day late and dollar short......I will never shop at VCF again! Products are crap, customer service is crap and their follow up is crap! I shouldve paid for the more expensive bedroom set that was solid wood and would probably not have had any issues. Save yourself grief and shop elsewhere!

Upon entering the sellers begin a rat race for my commission. The customer service after greetings was horrible.I purchased an over $4000 New sofa and loveseat(this was the price after 50% off storewide promotion) I was told what the price would be with taxes and given a receipt to take to the payment center for what I thought was just under $4000. I opted out of any assembly or extra charges being it was $100s extra simply to screw the couch legs on...DIY. Yet, when arriving at the payment center I found the seller attempted to apply extra charges as well as a miscellaneous fee of over $700! Totaling over $1000 extra to the price he had given me. He claimed it was an error. I took off work for delivery 2 times and they did not show up. When they finally did the guys were more interested in looking around my home than delivering my furniture. They were very unprofessional and rude.I heard a crash from their truck as if they had broken something, after they looked very nervous and were doing something in the back of the truck for some time. When I went outside to check they assured me they would be right in. My furniture was Heavily rapped in plastic, more than usual I couldnt even see the dark color. He eagerly insisted I sign that it was delivered, I replied I needed to check and see it first to ensure there is no damage. He insisted they must go to their next delivery, and assured me by signing I was only stating "it was delivered" and if there are any issues I could call the store . After they left I unwrapped my supposedly $4000 NEW furniture set, and instead was given a noticeably USED set with huge holes in it. PISSED would be an understatement. I called the store multiple times was given the run around and told the store manager was going to contact me. After multiple calls and no response from anyone I contacted the corporate office, this was mid 2016 I have yet to hear from anyone. The furniture is lightly and rarely used yet began falling apart even by the frame before 6 months. I hope this helps someone avoid what I went through.

Worst experience ever. I have purchased multiple items from value city and it seems like every time a purchase is made something always goes wrong. Customer service is Horrible!!!! everybody in the Gurnee location needs to go under customer service training. I purchase my furniture in full, opted out for delivery because its expensive and I only had a sectional. I left work early to rent a Uhaul and had people who took the time out of there day for me to pick the furniture up. When going to pick the furniture up, you have trucks blocking the entrance who wasnt getting any furniture and rude warehouse workers. Brought the furniture home and one piece was brown and the other piece was black. Called the store over 6 times, each time I was hung up on, I guess because it was close to closing time nobody wanted to help. Never received a call back in regards to being hung up on, so I had to go into the store personally. Wasnt treated any better by the "manager Eric" who was rude, and further to proceed and lie stating he was going to put in the notes he offered me a discount, which he didnt. I asked them to pick up the furniture and was informed no I can bring it back or they can come out and exchange the piece. This wasnt my mistake, and its not like I received the correct pieces and didnt want it, this is Value Citys mistake. It baffles me how this is such a big company and can never get anything right including customer service skills. Horrible service!
