Ive been thinking of buying a condo in Chicago. If I do, it may well be in Bridgeport solely so I can be walking distance to this coffee shop: its that good. Twenty or so tables plus a few booths and various odd stools, spread across two rooms. Plenty of outlets. Free wi-fi w/ quirky passwords. Walls are jammed full of local art for sale (some quite excellent and some authentically bad), stickers, concert posters, weird inflatable donuts and animals, etc., etc., etc. Surfaces covered in local newsletters, announcements of concerts, etc. Its quirky in a way thats hard to find now that quirky is something you buy in a franchise kit. Chai is from an evil box, but they brew a perfectly fine (if a bit too aggressively spiced) masala teas. Small selection of breakfast sandwiches and a bigger selection of lunch ones, plus a few salads, soups, and smoothies. Small selection of decent pastries. Very friendly staff. Weird movies playing on a TV, but sound off and only visible from the counter. Highly recommended - Im in danger of missing my train by hanging out here too long.

Mehhhh, lattes are OK bordering on not. Quite pricy kinda Starbucks like prices. I get a latte, thats the only thing I get to be honest. Its a convenient place geographically which is a major reason I go. I tell myself to get my morning coffee there because I want to support urban spots like this. I mean you dont get places like this in Des Moines, lol. Biggest criticism has to be the pretentious hipster workers that are quick to put on a movie Ive never seen nor would ever want to, never smile and only be friendly to other pretentious hipsters. But none the less, I do feel "cool" to be there and have THAT experience instead of the alternative at dunkin doughnuts, Starbucks, etc. Advice...get over yourself and be nice, its a business not detention. Nonetheless, you should go and see for yourself, but make sure to bring your sleeved tattoo!

I wish I lived closer, I would be here all the time. There is an extensive list of loose teas, I got the Masala Chai and it was delicious. I am a little bummed that I didnt get the Horchata Latte-- I saw it on the special menu after I paid. The staff there is incredibly kind, they were checking to see if I wanted more hot water for my tea. Local young artists work is for sale on the walls, I was very tempted. If I stayed any longer I probably would have gone home with two of the pieces. I also loved the "take a book, leave a book" section. I will be back!

Super friendly staff, really good coffee. Im disabled and have a service dog and the staff here does a superior job of making everyone feel welcome. The world would be a lot better place if there were more places like this. Also, the decor made up of rock posters is awesome. Look forward to coming back here on my next visit to Chicago. They absolutely do have the best coffee in Chicago. If you are visiting the city, take the Halsted bus, stop at Jackalope, then eat at Georges and finish up the night at Marias Community Bar.

Jackalope might just be my favorite coffee shop in Chicago, and thats saying something because there are a hell of a lot of good coffee shops in this city. From the excellent decor to the always-friendly owners, Jackalope consistently provides exceptional service. Their drinks are amazing, especially the horchata latte & Mayan mocha. And if you happen to be there on a day when theyre serving yellow lentil soup, GET IT. Its amazing. All in all Jackalope a gem of a coffee shop for the Bridgeport and greater Chicago communities.

Metropolis beans arent as good as what they offer over at Bridgeport Coffeehouse, but I generally prefer the ambiance, style and food options at Jackalope. The place is vibrant, covered in art, gig posters, and stuff from local artists and community groups, and they always seem to have something old and amazing on the TV. Maybe Im just a 90s punk kid, but this place really suits my style. Nice bonus: Jackalope is next to Halsted bus stops, and they post a live monitor that shows bus times.

I love coffee shops for both their excellent beverages but also as a place to relax, read or catch up with a friend...the best ones are suitable setting for all of the above with a relaxed vibe and good coffee snacks ....servers need to be friendly and welcoming and art work and occasional music all add to the package,,,,and Jackalope has it all and is there fore on my all time fav list of Chicago coffee houses

This place is everything I look for in a coffee shop: good coffee (Metropolis), good food (veg-friendly), eccentric interior, comfortable seating, & engaging employees. On my first visit, I had a choice of tip jars, Devo vs. the B-52s. On the (small) screen above, a Twin Peaks marathon silently ran. I settled in near the window in the back room, & quickly lost track of time.

I love their unique lattes (try their horchata latte!). They also have locally baked goods like donuts and creme puffs. Ample indoor and outdoor seating. Its next to a bike shop and has lots of bike parking. There is usually a few free parking spots on 32nd in the culdesac.

Perhaps the finest cup of coffee Ive had the pleasure of consuming. Their beans are excellent as well. Unfortunately, the wait is often very long and the price above average. If you have the time and a few bucks to spend, by all means hit this spot. You wont regret it.

Jackalope is one of the most unique coffee shops I have been to.It is the perfect spot for IIT students studying for exams or local Bridgeport residents trying to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. Super friendly baristas and a cool atmosphere seal the deal for me.

Someone else mentioned this...I prefer Bridgeport coffee Metropolis but Jackalope has a cool environment though and is a bit roomier. They have cool artwork and the lunchy food looks yummy and has creative names. They have a small sidewalk seating area as well.

Great place to watch a ballgame. Tickets are super cheap, food is super good, and the beer is super cold. Fans are friendly, amenities are good, and its a breeze to get in and out of. Near to CTA, plenty of parking, and a decent amount of bike racks.

I loved it! Great environment. The food is amazing. The shop has so much personality like the people who go there too. The employees are very nice and even offer free soup to the costumers! Never have I seen that at a place. I highly recommend it.

Great cafe hidden in the neighborhood of Bridgeport. They have great selection of loose leaf teas and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They offer WiFi and ample seating, very comfortable place to get some work done or read a book.

Everyone who works here is a pal. I often bring my computer here to get work done, as their wifi rivals that in my office and far surpasses that of similar businesses in the area. Good doughnuts, sandwiches, and great tea selection.

Good cofree. Decent sandwiches. Fun decorative theme. Very friendly staff. My only complaint is that the window areas arent used very well. The tables back right in to the counter so even if a seat is open you cant get to it.
