I recently contracted Arlington Heights Ford about a 2004 F-150 that they had advertised online. After viewing pictures on the website and discussing the condition of the vehicle with Arnita Hall the assistant manager and salesman Luis, they described the vehicle and said it was "in excellent condition inside and out." I also inquired about having the spark plugs changed prior to submitting an offer on the vehicle which Luis said they could do. After accepting my offer, I was notified by Arnita that they wouldnt change the plugs unless I wanted to pay a service charge. Living over 4 hours away, I restated to Arnita how far I would be coming to look at the vehicle and she continued to ensure me I would be extremely happy and receive the "VIP" treatment. After waiting several hours for return phone calls for each question I asked, I reluctantly decided to put a $500 deposit down on the vehicle and purchased a train ticket to get me to Joliet where a friend could pick me up and drive me the remaining distance to the dealership. When I got to the dealership I was informed I would be working with Manny Guerrero. He introduced me to Arnita who I saw for one min. at best then proceeded to take me out to the truck. Prior to arriving I was told the truck would be washed and ready for me to test drive. This was not the case as the vehicle was dirty and parked closely between two other used vehicles. As I walked up to the truck I noticed the driver side lower corner of the cab was rusted off and the entire under body of the truck was covered in holes due to rust. I found other large scratches on the paint and saw that the corner of the passenger side of the cab also had a large amount of rust on it as well. After telling Manny there was no way I was buying this vehicle he asked if they could fix it would I buy it. We made our way back inside and Manny went and got the used car manager Brian Gerhardt. Brian went on to say that it was wrong for the Luis the salesman to tell me the vehicle was in excellent condition and that because of the year of the vehicle (2004) I shouldnt have been surprised by the rust problems. After back and forth conversation he stated that "he could cover it up but its not going to look new" basically making a joke of the situation. He told me he had two other offers on the vehicle over the weekend which he turned down for me (even though I paid them to hold it) I told him that I had traveled over 4 hours to look at the vehicle and asked if he could help me get back home. His response was "he cant just buy everyone who doesnt purchase a vehicle a train ticket." After becoming offended by Brians attempts to downplay the situation, we confirmed my credit card hadnt been charged for the deposit and we left.

Michael Ayoub was a fantastic salesman and a lovely person to deal with. Arlington Heights Ford dealership was the third dealership I visited that day. I was on a mission that day to simply test drive some vehicles to decide which one I liked best and then save up a down payment to make a purchase later in the beginning of next year with savings & my tax refund money. I had no intention of purchasing a vehicle that day, much less a Ford. In fact, I had a Chevrolet Malibu in mind instead. My experience at the Chevy dealership left a lot to be desired and my experience at the Toyota dealership was actually down right rude. I went to the Ford dealership on a whim because it was located near where I was currently driving. From the moment I walked into Arlington Heights Ford, Micheal was personable, friendly and LISTENED to me. He took the time to understand how unhappy and unsafe I felt in my current vehicle. He and the Finance Manager, Dave McElroy, helped me find that my credit was better than I thought and as a result I purchased a vehicle 6 months earlier than I thought I would be able to and even managed to get my monthly payment reduced, another necessary goal of mine. Dave arranged for me to be able to take the car home and drive it all Sunday to be sure that I felt comfortable making the decision on the vehicle which was something no one has ever done for me. Having that extra time to drive the car was invaluable and allowed me to drive it in adverse conditions as it rained the next day. I was very happy to find that the car responded just as well in wet weather as it had on a beautiful sunny Saturday. I returned the car Monday morning and Michael even adjusted his schedule to come in early (I called and they told me he wasnt due in until 2PM) but he was there at 11:30AM when I brought the car back on Monday morning before I went to work. I had a list of questions to ask him when I came in that morning and he was able to answer all of them for me, taking the time to explain any unclear details. It was a pleasure dealing with him from the moment I met him and he and the staff went above and beyond my expectations! Dave worked magic with the financing and I am tremendously grateful that he was able to reduce the APR as low as he did and take the time to answer all of my questions regarding the financing. I could not have asked for a better car buying experience and I hope all customers have as good an experience as I did. Arlington Heights Ford should be very proud of having Michael Ayoub as an employee. He and Dave McElroy are excellent assets to the dealership!

I purchased my Escape there, I maintained my Escape there. Although I can not tell good or bad, but everything was just fine. But the last time my visit was really very bad experience. I went there for my 20000 miles maintain. I also had a recall need fix. After I went there, i was told a re-call might take half a day. The guy suggested me to schedule another day for the recall and just do the maintain this time. I asked if there was a car i could drive away so i didnt have to wait there and i could make both things done the same day. The guy said no. He lied. But I can understand. Rental car should be used by people who really need it. I waited there for a while, the guy came to tell my the cars rear brakes need change. Told me the price and suggested me to change that same day so i can have it right away. I agreed. But that guy didnt tell me: 1. how long it will take, didnt ask me if i can wait 2. they didnt have the parts at all, they had to order the parts. I waited and waited for about 3 hours. People came and left. At last there were only me and another woman. The guy show up again, talked to the woman. He didnt forget me, he did talk to me and said my car should be ready for pick up very soon. He lied again. At the time they were still waiting for the parts. I waited more time and my stomach reminded me again again to talk to guy. I went to the front desk, that guy not there. Another guy talked to me. After he walked away to check up my car, he then told me they had to order my parts, they just got that. and my car should be ready in 20 mins. Told me to talk to him after 20 mins. I gave him 25 mins. This time he walked away and came back to tell me sorry, because they were still waiting for the parts. He offered me a car to drive and asked me to wait for the phone call to pick up my car. This is really bad. That is not the way to earn my business. On Jan 2nd 2016, Someone from AH ford called me today. I appreciated that. I think he wanted to say i am not right to complain just with a one time unhappy experience out of 3 or more. I almost agreed him during the talking on the phone. Just like i said on the phone i shared my experience didnt mean to hurt anyone. After i hang up, i realized i am doing right, i shared my comments, but its his manager to judge his performance. If he has been doing good all the time , my review wont hurt him if his manager is reasonable. Right? That makes feel better.
