I was building my computer and ordered some parts off Newegg. My local Best Buy had a graphics card I wanted in stock, so, since some of my parts were on back order, I decided to get the card from them to save some time. Well, my parts finally came in almost a month after buying the card from Best Buy. I opened the box and found out it was not the card I purchased, but a much older card that was returned in the box. I did not think to check inside the box after purchasing because I knew it would be a while before the other parts came in. So, being being a Best Buy Elite member, I was still in my return period. I head to the store, let the guy behind the counter know what happened. He goes and gets a manager and she comes back and says she wont accept the return. The only way she said she could accept it was if I came to her within a few days of purchase to let them know. Now, why would I open a graphics card and look at it if I wasnt going to install it? Why would I risk damaging or run the risk of a static discharge messing it up? I have been a Best Buy Elite member for 2 years now, meaning I have spent over $5000 over the last 2 years at that store. I asked to speak with her manager and she says shes the only manager there. I asked the district managers number and she said she wont give it to me, to just call the 1888BESTBUY number. So call them I did. I explained to them my situation and how I was treated. She looked up my account and the purchase and said I was within the return period and well within my rights to return it. She told me to go back in the store and hand the phone to the lady I spoke with. The rep talked to the manager and told her to give me the refund. The manager refused. She gave her the same line she told me. The rep then told her to take it as a trade in and give me the trade as a gift card. Guess what? They dont take graphics cards as trade ins. So, Im out $250 and I will no longer spend any money at best buy. Losing $2500+ a year from a customer might not make a difference, but hopefully those of you who read this can steer clear of this store. Another thing about this store is you can hardly get someone to wait on you. Even though they all stand around, and sometimes in groups, theyve would rather talk about who they slept with or who they were going to hook up with than to help a customer looking to spend hundreds of dollars at a time. And most of them know very little about electronics. I over hear crap they spew to people, just for me to help the other customer with the correct info so they can make a better decision on their purchase. Best Buy just lost a long time customer.

If I had written this review a month ago or even two weeks ago I would have given the Best Buy the lowest score possible. This location is ridiculously small, never has anything I want/need, and the staff was aloof at best. All previous visits had resulted in me leaving usually upset and empty handed. I was even almost accused of theft when I went in looking for a case for my iPhone which I had preordered and therefore received before the public release date. Skip to a few weeks ago. We were in the market for a new tv and after much online research we decided to head to the dreaded Best Buy to get some hands in time with some actual units. We immediately fell in love with one and went in no less than 4 times before committing to buy it. Only once did we have a salesperson who nearly drove us from the store. We were going to buy online but wound up purchasing in the store due to excellent customer service. Donovan was the one salesperson whos name I remember. He, a really friendly girl, a red headed guy, and one other who guy answered so many questions and put up with all of our trips and even our fussy baby. We cant be more pleased with our purchase and we got a good deal on top of it all. It almost pains me to give such a small and almost useless Best Buy such a good review but I would recommend this store to people as long as they realize the store is woefully small and under stocked. Thanks Donovan and the rest of you guys. Now Im off to veg in front of my ridiculously amazing tv.

Had to lower my review after yet another horrible experience. Purchased a small TV and had to return as the unit I selected was streaming only, no tuner. Customer Service rep never greeted us, smiled, asked what was wrong, nothing; just took the box, opened it without explanation and plugged TV in, checked the remote for batteries. I told her I wanted to exchange for a different unit, she muttered something about bringing her the unit I wanted so I went and got it, when I got back she was with another poor customer and called an associate to help us. I explained what was going on, he asked for my receipt, explained I had given it to clerk one and she then said "I threw it in the trash", number two literally had to dig it out and un-crumple it. We completed the exchange and left store, got home and after reading multiple poor reviews on Yelp and Google decided to call the store manager on duty. My wife explained what had happened. Manager apologized but didnt seem too concerned so my wife mentions all the negative reviews, she says she is aware and says "what do you want me to do?" So if they dont care Im struggling to determine why I do.

I live near valdosta so we went to best buy to shop for a lap top and camera since the one that I wanted was out of stock at walmart. First it took 20 minutes to get somebody from the lap top "department" to come since the 5 people standing around apparently couldnt help me. After getting my lap top it took an hour and a half of waiting to finally get a broadband card for the laptop. Now, I realize that there are other customers in front of me and a few others, but standing there talking about the local football teams is not addressing their buying issues. Stopping to talk to your relatives and girlfriend is also NOT a customer service issue. Its bad enough that they have one person working with the cell phone/broadband card department, lets try to find people who know what they are doing and can handle a problem quickly and move on. And the people who handle the camera department know absolutely nothing about any of their products. Dont get get me started on the computer/printer department. You guys should at least know what products you are selling. Needless to say, I wont be returning to Best Buy for anything.

The people there just seem lazy. I had several questions which they didnt know the answer to. Instead of finding someone who did know, they just simply left it at, "I dont know." At a later date, I purchased a washer and dryer from the Valdosta location. Refused home delivery on major applicance while clearly advertised, because "he couldnt figure out how to enter it in the computer" There was an issue of the item being in stock, I gladly waited for them to have in stock, but because he had to order from another BB warehouse, the computer didnt give him the option for home delivery, so he said it doesnt qualify. Talked to the manager during those hours, who confirmed this statement. Called another BB who said that whether currently in stock or not, there is free home delivery on all major appliances. I finally received free home delivery but it was after several trips and talking with another Valdosta BB manager. Was way more of a hassle than should have been.
