I went there about a week ago and got a few items, though they didnt have what I was looking for. The store was ransacked before Xmas. When I went to check out, I saw there were no customers in line so I walked right up to the cash register, and the cashier rudely scolded me, "Someone is in this line. You have to wait over there." Her tone was not appreciated and uncalled for since NO ONE was standing at the register. (The customer had apparently run back into the aisles to get one more thing-- how was I to know?) One item rang up much higher than I expected due to it apparently being on the wrong rack. The cashier was unfriendly about me deciding I didnt want to buy.... I foolishly went back yesterday looking for something else, and when I couldnt find it, I proceeded to the exit. I didnt realize until it was too late that I was walking in between the customer service desk and another register. Since they have the long, winding line it makes it basically impossible to leave without doubling back or walking a long way around to leave, so I thought it was just a quick shortcut between registers. There were no blockades or partitions preventing customers from going between the registers. When I was almost to the exit, the cashier (same rude one as last week, in fact), sternly said, "EXCUSE ME, you cant come here. You have to go through the other door (pointing to the entrance which was blocked by alot of merchandise). I began to apologize, but she interrupted me, saying, "Fine. You can just go." I will never be back due to this one lady who appears to have some kind of chip on her shoulder. Do not go to this store simply to stay away from rudeness. Not to mention the selection and prices are not great. I will gladly go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby instead.

Have had a difficult experience almost everytime I have visited this store in Duluth. I cant think of any other arts or crafts stores that I have visited in which it takes so long to get through short lines (I havent had problems at other Jo-Anns Fabrics Stores like this). I waited for 10-15 minutes as the second person in line at the fabric counter on my work break just to get a few ribbons cut. I was the only other person waiting for most of the time and a few others formed a line towards the end of my wait. When the customer finished in the front they told me that they needed to go by the ticketing system (even though I had been the only other customer waiting for the majority of the time) and they could not help me at all. I said alright and I returned ALL of the products that I was going to buy back to their spots in the store and left. Maybe a couple more staff members, increased training or a bit of positive motivations for employees could assist the customer service. If there is no possibility of more staff members maybe something can be set up where people can self serve cut ribbon quickly somehow when they only need a little and then it can be checked at the counter. I hope this review is helpful to make things better for future customers. I dont see how any business these days can afford to lose paying customers. A customers time & the service they get is really important!

I went to this store for the last time today! They announced their store was closing soon so I was hurrying to get my last thing and was half jogging through the store to hurry and I went to ask a quick question to the woman who cuts the fabric and she was very short with me and almost ride so I just went to grab two similar items and went back and all I asked was which one she would recommend and she very EXTREMELY rudely (almost yelled) maam our store is closing! If I didnt need the items I was getting I would have thrown them in her face and made a scene. I will never be returning to this store EVER again!!!! I do not recommend anyone going to this store if you want to be treated nicely and like a paying customer! I dont care if you are closing soon I was there before you closed and I should not have been treated that way for asking a simple question. Horrible horrible woman and service! She needs to be fired for the way she spoke to me! There were still other customers moseying around the isles still and I was moving quickly to finish and leave so I am extremely extremely angry! I have been a great customer to this location for many years and you just lost a customer for sure! I will go to Michaels from now on and be greeted with a smile!

Around 3pm on a Monday afternoon. There was a line at the fabric counter (they were helping number 66) , so I took a number (68). I browsed the patterns while I waited, because they were right next to the fabric counter and I wanted to be able to hear them call my number. I waited probably over 10 minutes, glancing up at the number being served every couple of minutes, and then suddenly I saw the number was on 70. So I went to the counter and told the woman she skipped me. She said she called my number, but there is no way because I was listening for it. I didnt hear them call 67, 68 or 69. She argued with me and said Id have to wait. I waited at least another 10 or more likely 15 minutes before one of the ladies took the next customer. Both ladies were very rude, slow, and argued instead of apologizing! By then I was fuming and when my fabric was finally cut, I went to the front and asked to speak to a manager. He came up and although he listened to me, he never introduced himself and I got the feeling that talking to him wasnt going to make a difference. Worst customer service experience Ive had here to date! Makes me not want to shop here anymore!

Very disappointed in this location. I fully understand the store mostly caters to fabric but their website shows they also cater to artists that draw as well. Their "art" section is a joke as its for kids... thats it. Nothing but crayola and construction paper. I asked an employee if they had Copic Markers and sketch pads and not only did she have an awful attitude, but also told me "I dont know." Okay, and you couldnt check? Or maybe ask someone over the radio? She wouldnt even acknowledge me after my question. Typically I disagree with bad reviews of stores because I know how badly people will treat staff but having worked in retail and customer service, I know how you should treat an employee and in all honesty... Ive had better customer service at Walmart, which is hard to find... Since you almost cant ever find an employee. I think Ill happily drive out of my way to Hobby Lobby from here on out.

The store and its workers are horrible. If there was the option of no stars I would wholeheartedly give it. The cutting counter is slow, and the people working them are unwilling to offer more than a grunt when I ask for a fabric. Customer service is just as bad, preferring to push their job onto other people, leading me on a find-the-next-person chase. When I asked for the restroom, the employee rudely jerked her finger and said "the back" without even looking at me. "the back" is a 30-meter long, unmarked wall. In short, the store and its employees (a certain one named gwen) are rude, lazy, and less than unsatisfactory. I'll never come back, and regret coming here in the first place.
