I wanted to reach out to you to let you know of my great experience in the Tampa Hobby town location. I purchased a Ethos quadcopter and I love it! A few days after I damaged one of the motor arms and came in last night at 7:30pm to get a replacement part. With not know what to do I was direct to a very nice technician name Nino ( forgive my spelling if it is not correct). He showed me the part and he must have had a sense that I did not know how to repair it because with out me even asking he began to assist me with fixing it. He walked me through how to do it and when completed we noticed it still had trouble flying. I thought it was the motor but he found it was the remote and took apart to find it had rare issue where the solder joint had come loose from the joystick. My point is that he could easily of handed me the parts and let me leave to only have a horrible experience trying to figure out what was wrong with the unit and having to go back and forth to the hobby store. I really appreciated his outstanding customer service and willingness to make sure I was able to enjoy my new quadcopter last night. I wanted you to know that above and beyond customer service a huge part of our business and I always look for it where I shop and is rarely found. He seems to really love what he does and it shows through his outstanding customer service :) Sincerely, Troy Weintraub

Be careful of the people that work here. I took a drone in here to be repaired, documented all the equipment they took and the person signed the paper. It took them three months to fix the drone, which I understand if they are busy. However when I went back to get the drone they did not return the battery. When I asked them where it was they LIED and said I never gave it to them. I went home and got the paperwork and showed them the intake form, on it said there was a battery with it. At which point they said they would need to speak with the owner. It took them a week with me calling them everyday or going in, for the manager to get back with me. On one of the times I made a copy of the form saying they took the battery. The manager finally called me back when he did he said He did not care what the paper said and they would not return my equipment. I can not say this enough, do not trust these people, they will lie to you and they will steal from you if they get the chance. Question everything they say to you, Question everything they do.

the worst customer service EVER i have called this store for parts 5 times with the part# and description and all 5 times i was told yes we have it and EVERY TIME I HAVE GONE TO PICK IT UP its either oh the computer made an error or it is the wrong part all together the staff at this store has no knowledge of the products they sell or just the ones that they use even though they sell other products i have totally had it i will be calling corporate headquarters Monday to tell them of theyre franchise in Tampa is a complete failure like the staff at this store further more i will promote as many people as i can to not go there and order it online so they get the right stuff they want and do not have to deal with the disrespectful and un knowledgeable staff at this store DO NOT GO HERE THEY DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING and will mislead you to just get you into the store in the hopes you will probably buy something else!!!!!This is

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We drove 40 minutes last night to pick up three drones, one of which was defective right out of the box and we ended up using all the spare parts within the first flight on the proto z. We came back this morning, another 40 minute drive, and asked the girl (the only girl that works there) if she could split the $20 difference from the price we paid plus parts on an upgrade. She proceeded to say that she was doing us a favor even returning the defective product, and she couldnt put $10 toward the kodo. We bought the kodo but that place just lost two customers over $10. We would even have just taken some extra props for the inconvenience, but she couldnt throw those in either. This place just wants your money, not to mention all the drones they were supposed to be fixing were piled up with angry customer notes in the corner. Youre obviously a valued customer at hobbytown.

This is a pretty good sized hobby store, and the selection is great. However, their customer service is horrible. I walked in one day hoping to get some help on selecting a remote control model and was unsuccessful. All the staffs seemed busy, not helping other customers, but, minding their own business. While I was waiting for someone to free himself/herself up, I was browsing through the isles, and no one even care to ask, ‘May I help you with something?’ I finally was able to talk to a female staff after walking up and down the isles for 30 minutes, but she sent me to another guy right away because she has no knowledge of what I was looking for. The guy she referred me to was busy fixing an RC car or something. At this point, I have decided to leave. It might have just been me, but my impression about this place is arrogant and unfriendly. Avoid this place if you can. The employees are very clueless and do not want to help you out at all. I tried to ask a few questions to a few of the employees, and I get such unmotivated responses, its like they are in prison there forced to work. They act like they are too busy to help anyone, and have horrible people skills. They also lack any kind of knowledge. I went in and simply asked if they had any Nickel Metal Hydride battery packs, and the guy looked at me like I was crazy and had no idea what I was talking about. Just a horrible experience. I regret buying a battery charger from them. I will not go back and I suggest you avoid it if you can.

i see most people on here complaining when they need to speek up and get what they want.Im a normal customer that visits almost everyday for my hobby needs and just ask them what i want and if they have it then they give me the part right away and continue to help me with the next item i want.Especially the employee kevin,he was very helpful and was very patient with me even though i made him go back and forth to get the things i wanted because i couldnt make my mind up and he seemed to be perfectly ok with it.I will go back again anytime i need something.Dont hesitate to go there.Most of the bad reviews on here are from people who dont know how to speak up.
