STAY AWAY!!!! WELL WHAT CAN I SAY. I HAVE BEEN IN THE HOBBY SCENE FOR A LONG TIME SHOP AT HOBBYTOWN USA BOTH IN TAMPA AND BRANDON AND AT DEANS DISCOUNT HOBBIES IN NEW PORT RICHEY AND LET ME JUST SAY THIS PLACE IS WAY OVER PRICED 20$-30$ MORE THAN ANY OTHER SHOP AND ONLINE IF YOU DONT MIND THE DRIVE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO OUT TO DDH RACE COMPLEX . I LIKE THE LAYOUT OF THE SHOP AND THE INVENTORY ON DISPLAY BUT WHAT GOOD DOSE IT DO THEM IF YOU CANT EVEN PICKUP THE CARS WITHOUT SOME OLD RUDE FART STARING YOU DOWN AND TELLING YOU DONT TOUCH ,OR HOW THE HECK YOU CANT TAKE PICTURES I MEAN WHO DOSE THIS STORE OWNER THINK HE IS WHERE YOU HAVE SIGNS EVERYWHERE SAYING YOU CANNOT TAKE PICTURES AS FAR AS I KNOW ITS A FREE COUNTRY AND I CAN TAKE PICTURES IN ANY PUBLIC STORE PLAIN AND SIMPLE BUT I GUESS THE OWNERS ARE TO IGNORANT TO KNOW THIS .LIKE I SAID I HAVE BEEN GOING INTO THIS SHOP SINCE IT STARTED AND HAVE SEEN IT GROW WHEN THEY STARTED THEY DID NOT KNOW MUCH AND ALL THEY SOLD WAS REDCAT AND EXCEED RC CRAP AND NO KNOWLEDGEABLE PEOPLE AGAIN MIND YOU I NEVER TOLD ANYONE I WAS INTO THE HOBBY BUT JUST STOP BY ON MY LUNCH BREAK OR FREE TIME AND JUST PAYED ATTENTION TO HOW THE GUY WITH THE BIG BEARD WOULD BULLSHIT HIS WAY THROUGH A SALE SMH.. ALWAYS MADE ME WANT TO REACH OUT TO THE PEOPLE AND TELL THEM TO RUN!!!!! TIME WENT BUY THEY STARTED TO GROW THERE INVENTORY AND I NOTICED THERE CUSTOMER BASED GREW AND I NOTICED A NEWER SPANISH TALL GUY AND I TALKED WITH HIM A COUPLE OF TIMES AND QUICKLY FOUND OUT HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE GUY AND DEFIANTLY FOUND OUT HE WAS THE REASON FOR THE GROWTH IN THE INVENTORY AND EXPANSION .HELL I THINK I FOUND MYSELF TALKING TO HIM CLOSE TO AN HOUR ASIDE FROM A GRUMPY OLD MAN STARING USE DOWN AND FROM WHAT I COULD SEE ON SOME DAYS IT WAS JUST HIM AND A OLDER GUY AND I SAW LESS AND LESS OF THE OTHER GUY WITH A BEARD .TIME WENT BY AND I STOPPED GOING BY THE SHOP FOR PERSONAL REASONS .COME TO FIND OUT THE SPANISH GUYS NAME IS ROMEO AND HE KNOW A LOT OF THE SAME PEOPLE I KNOW AND HAS BEEN IN THE HOBBY FOR A LONG TIME, AND APPARENTLY HE QUIT AND THIS SADDEN ME BECAUSE I CAN SEE THIS SHOP GOING BACK DOWN HILL QUICKLY AS WHEN I ASKED IF THEY HAD SOMETHING IN STOCK I WAS TOLD BY THE OLDER GRUMPY MAN THAT I WOULD HAVE TO COME BACK 3 HOURS LATER WHEN THERE RC GUY WOULD BE IN ...SMH .. WHAT DO YOU SAY TO THAT THESE PEOPLE NEED TO HIRE REAL HOBBYIST AND STOP HIRING TEENS THAT DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE HOBBY AND ARE JUST READING OFF OF A SCRIPT READERS SALES GUYS HELL IF THE OWNER KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT THE HOBBY WHY WOULD YOU OPEN A HOBBY SHOP ?? WELL ALL I CAN SAY IS I DONT KNOW WHAT THE OWNER DID TO PISS OFF ROMEO TO PUSH HIM TO LEAVE THAT SHOP FROM TALKING TO HIM A COUPLE OF TIME HE REALLY DOSE LOVE THE HOBBY AND AT THE MOMENT LOVE THE STORE I WISH HIM THE BEST AND HOPE HE FINDS WHAT HE IS LOOKING FOR AND HONESTLY IM GONNA ASK AROUND AND SEE WHERE HE WENT OFF TO IM PRETTY SURE ANY HOBBY SHOP HE GOES TO WILL BENEFIT FROM HIS KNOWLEDGE WELL IF YOU TOOK THE TIME TO READ THIS KNOW THAT I MYSELF WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THIS HOBBY SHOP ,NOR WILL I SEND ANYONE OVER THERE EVER AGAIN ... HOPE THIS HELPS ANYONE THAT NEEDS A HONEST REVIEW NOT A PURCHASED REVIEW

I love the place but prices are mall prices, jacked up at least $75 to $100 and you have to ask for prices, what the hell is that kind of business strategy, this is like buying a car from a dealership where you need a sales guy to get a price for the car. the only reason i think they do that is so that people will not google the car and find out what the real price is, I understand they have to be more $ than internet but hobby town USA has somewhat close to internet price. I am not sure in this day and age who would buy over $75- $100 price on an item. they dont post the name and model of the vehicle so it will be harder for you to find out. very shady business strategy, if they do that now, i cnt imagine what will happen if you ever have any issue with the product you buy

STAY AWAY!!!! I went last Wednesday and bought a Team Associated MGT 8.0 nitro monster truck for my sons birthday, brought it home and was ready for my son to have some fun. I spent $530 for the truck and at least $170 in supplies. For a truck that Ive been working on for at least a week now, with $700 invested and it wont even run. You think this store would be more cooperative when calling for help. All the manager Romeo could do was blame myself for a bad break in of the engine or state hes never had problems with them when if you research my truck, it has had nothing but problems. A little professionalism and respect goes a long way with me, this store just wants your money $$$ and doesnt care at all. Ill be taking it to Hobby Town for any of my future needs.

The shop is decently stocked for a modern hobbyshop however if youre used to the calm, polite, and relaxed atmosphere of the traditional radio controlled shop this place is not for you. They blasted dubstep and techno the whole time. An associate followed my wife and i around as if we were going to steal something (we hardly look the part). I can overlook that stuff, not everyone has the same opinions about music and retail store ettiequte as i do, however what really got me at the end was the cost of everything. It was rather insulting. In the 18 years ive been in the hobby ive never seen retail markup like that. Im old school and believe in supporting your local brick and motar shops but i would sooner buy from tower or a-main then pay those prices.

Their repair department is the fastest in the area!! Had my rc car sitting in hobbytown dale marby for two months supposedly waiting on a part that is out of stock. Heard about these guys from a co-worker so decided to pick my car and take it to them. Was told 3-5 days (not to mention the part needed for my car was IN STOCK) and my car was ready the NEXT DAY!!!!!! Two others were there picking up as I was there to pick up my rc car, they have said nothing but great things about them. They have a huge inventory and great service department, they definitely Blow the competition out of the water...

Great Staff, incredible selection!! I found the shop with a Google search after the guys at Hobby Town werent very helpful at all. The guy working the sales floor that day was very knowledgeable and helpful. I told him what I was looking for and how much I was looking to spend; he showed me several options and was actually able to see the cars and compare them side-by-side which I think it was a HUGE plus. He made sure I had all the parts I needed to complete the car before I left the store. The store is way out of my way but it is definitely worth the drive.
