I bought a home which had recently renovated the kitchen, including appliances from Famous Tate. The homeowner had purchased extended service contracts, and upon buying the home I had those contracts transferred into my name. The service contracts are owned by a company called Bankers Warranty Group in St Pete. I had a problem with the fridge, about 2 months ago a message popped up indicating a fault, so I called the service number. They told me to pull the plug, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in. I did that, it seemed to reset the fault, and ran fine. Until last Wednesday, the same message came on the display, and unplugging and restarting did not resolve the problem. I called the service number on a Thursday morning, and from the very beginning the process was clearly broken. They scheduled a tech to come out on Friday, claiming it was the best they could do. But they gave me the number of the service center, so I called and explained that everything in my fridge was going bad, and they got a tech to me in a couple of hours. Tech was here for 15 minutes, determined what parts were needed, and said hes submit it to the warranty company and ask them to order the parts and expedite. This was a Thursday afternoon. I called Bankers on Friday, they indicated they hadnt received the diagnosis from the service center but assured me they would get it straightened out. I called Monday, asking if parts had been ordered, and the phone rep for Bankers said he couldnt tell from his system but he would call the service center to confirm. No one called me back. On Tuesday, I called Bankers again. This time the phone rep told me they still hadnt received a diagnosis from the tech - so effectively, nothing was being done. I nearly lost my mind. I asked her to get someone in the claims department to call the service center while I waited. After being on the phone over an hour and telling these people step-by-step what to do, they finally confirmed that the service center did indeed have parts they could get by the end of the day. Finally on Wednesday morning (Day 7 of having a fridge that wont cool), the tech shows up and repairs it in under 15 minutes. Let that sink in - it took this warranty company a week to approve and orchestrate a 15 minute fix. Meanwhile a fridge and freezer full of food spoiled. The service contract includes a $250 claim allowance for food spoilage, but that doesnt come close to covering what we lost - and I had to submit an itemized list with prices paid, substantiated by receipts. In total, an abysmal experience getting this resolved. I realize Famous Tate is not directly responsible for the bumbling that goes on inside the service company, but its the company theyve chosen to work with. So beware, if you buy a fridge from Famous Tate with an extended service contract, be prepared for really, really bad service.

Mr.Ward, On Tuesday May 20, 2014, I had the absolute pleasure of finding myself in a beautiful showroom in Brandon, Florida. Upon entering, I was greeted by two lovely ladies with big welcoming smiles that set the tone for a great experience for my wife and I. Being a man of unusual stature, nearly 7 feet and 600 lbs., those two ladies made me feel I came to the right place. As I made my way to the back of the store, I was lucky enough to find an awesome sales person by the name of Chris. He was very patient and listened to my exact needs and did NOT try to push something on us, but instead, sold us exactly the refrigerator we needed for our home. This gentleman clearly represents what Famous Tate is famous for, Customer Service and Empathy. Because of him, I will be spending my money at this location, as well as my many friends. Today, I received my beautiful fridge, bright and early. Let me say that of all the delivery personnel I have dealt with in the past, NONE have come close to the professionalism and courtesy these two men provided. Estaban & Armando showed they truly cared about the delivery and its final outcome. Setup was FLAWLESS. Took the old unit and put it in my garage with just as requested. In closing, let me emphasize that from the showroom to the delivery, these associates exude the very essence of professionalism and customer service. I feel my money was well spent and could not be happier! With Gratitude, Big Mike & Bridget Hildreth Plant City, Florida

We just purchased a Speed Queen top load washer from their Spring Hill store. The people we dealt with in the store were nice, the delivery was set up quickly and arrived on time, the day it was supposed to. However, the two delivery men were very abrupt and couldnt wait to leave. They brought the washer into our laundry room (just off the garage), pushed it off the hand truck and told me to sign the delivery ticket - they were out of there! I asked them if they were going to push the washer into place and set it up and they said no, because I had to connect the supply hoses (which I had just bought). The store manager told my wife & I this when we bought the washer, and we understood why (liability), but I didnt know it was up to us to push the machine into place, set up everything else, and level it. The only thing the delivery men said when I asked them if they could push the machine into place was, "spray Windex on the floor to make it easier to push". They did not want to wait for me to connect my supply hoses, so they could do the rest of their job of installing the washer. I had a hard time pushing the washer into place, and a very hard time picking up the front and turning the leveling screws to level the washer (Im 68 years old). If this is an example of the type of service to expect from Famous Tate, then this will be the last thing we buy from them.

Excellent Sales Rep: Mr Bill Van Hoose (at Oldsmar, FL location.) I had already placed an order for all my appliances with another Sales Rep, but came into the store after seeing a sales flyer, and I wanted to see if my order qualified for a savings. Bill Van Hoose went above and beyond to check into everything for me, making sure I had the new Rebate forms and looking to see if there was anything new that my order qualified for! He treated me like I was his customer - most sales Reps would not want to be bothered, but Bill Van Hoose really makes Famous Tate Shine! Mr Van Hoose has made me a Famous Tate fan and I will be a repeat customer and tell anyone looking for appliances to see him at Famous Tate! He shows Integrity and Great Customer Service - taking the time to explain proper care of my appliances, and not making me feel rushed or insignificant - but like I was a very important customer!

Our secondary fridge died and we were looking for a reliable replacement at a reasonable price. We shopped around both online and in person and found the Famous Tate price and product to be superior. I had talked to the floor salesman on the phone and gave him our situation, and when my husband showed up he was quick to recall my husbands name and show him the item previously discussed. He didnt try to up-sell us, which was appreciated. Plus they were able to deliver 2 days later. Delivery gave us a call that morning to give us a 2-hour delivery window. They called again when they were 15-20 min away. They removed our old unit and got the new one in (which required them removing a door from its hinge). They replaced the door and made sure we were satisfied before they left. Weve done business with Famous Tate over the years and will continue to do so based on this experience.
