Went in to purchase a 2017 Jetta. WILL NEVER COME BACK! We worked with David and Jared. David the sales rep gave very poor customer service. The sales pitch was all over the map and he rambled on about benefits and features that were irrelevant to us. He asked very little questions that focused the conversation. Made assumptions upfront that we had bad credit and wasted our time talking about how credit works and that we need a large down payment and a co-signer. We work for a bank and have 780 plus credit scores. David did not know basic answers to questions and constantly interrupted us while we were talking. Which shows he was not listening to us. He came back after the credit report was run and said: " I guess you have good credit and dont need a downpayment" Later at the car unprovoked, he brought up stories relating to different races and was hinting at his prejudices toward them, I HAVE NO IDEA WHY HE WAS MAKING SMALL TALK ABOUT THIS! It was super uncomfortable. Again he talked and talked and we were looking at each other wanting to get out of there. After we decided on the car we sat with Jared for financing. This is where we should have had the character to stand up and walk out. Jarod at no point broke down what was in the paperwork or asked us for input on the matter. He told us the rate which was high, and I said it was okay because we will refinance it later if it cant go any lower. He went on about how VW Financing would think the Store is committing fraud if I refinance in the first six months. He offered a 1% reduction in the rate if we waited for 6 months, we agreed. Once he got to the out the door total on paper...I stopped him and asked how did it get to $20k+. "Oh, thats your Extended Warranties," I said you never brought any of it up like the benefits or features or asked for permission to include that. You literally just pointed at a line and said sign here and I had to stop him and ask. He then went over the Extended Warranties and Gap. He redrew the paperwork and he put the paper in front of us and said sign here...I said: "Wait the interest rate has changed." Jared said oh yeah you took off the insurance therefor you dont get the 1% off. I asked "But you said that rate off was for us not refinance the car" On top of that when were you going to tell us at any point that you raised our rate?" Jared replied that because we ate into their profit he cant give us the rate off. In summary: David is incompetent and Jared is deceptive and a scammer. I do NOT recommend Lakeland VW and will be recommending to any of my clients.

Took my 2003 Volkswagen Jetta in to the their service departmwnt because we were told only the dealership could help with our cars problems. Turns out they were no help at all. My car had been overheating so after they did diagnostics we were told what would need to be done, the price, and that with the cars age POSSIBLY we might need more repairs. We said okay and put down a $500 deposit and were told all parts were being shippedand that they dont do tracking numbers and the car would be done the following tuesday. Tuesday rolls around and the part isnt there and were told maybe wednesday, thursday at the latest but they would keep in touch. Not once did they call us, everytime we needed info we would have to call. After the part didnt come in on Thursday we were told that the part needed, theres only 1 in the country and its up to whichever dealership that did have it, to sell it to us which they ended up not doing. So then we are told its shipping from Mexico and that there is a tracking number and it will be done the NEXT Tuesday. Well turna out that is also a lie because the next time we contacted them we were told that its being custom made in Mexico and isnt actually on the way yet. So we march on down to the dealership to speak with someone face to face and we meet the two rudest managers of all time trying to just keep explaining that our car is old and then the service manager tells us well your car will DEFINITELY need repairs. We sit there and were like, one, what does that have to do with all the lies and stories weve been told and two, why werent we told this before? Finally we agree to not do business there and were standing outside waiting for a refund and for our car, well the bozo who drove the car around left it on in the middle of the parking lot. An overheating car was just left on by a mechanic and he literally just left it there until we walked over and turned it off. The service manager walked back out to us to again apologize but was just so rude in how he spoke. Will never do business here again. If I could rate lower I would.

what a waste of time......if a minus rating would be possible I would give them one. I had a certain Car in mind and emailed and called them ahead in order to gather all the information and make sure when I go there I have everything they need. I live in Fort Myers so it is a two hour drive to their place. Saturday morning my husband and I drove up to Lakeland and had to discover the Car we came for was not on their lot anymore. Even after I confirmed the night before with phone calls and emails and they confirmed and expected me. They mumbled something about new inventory system, not quiet figured it out yet....car was a dealer trade and is since 2 days off the lot. Inventory system not updated yet.........a lot of BS ! So after the first disappointment they offered us exactly the same Model but instead of being a new Car, it was a used one with 8.000 miles, scratched all around, dirty inside. They offered to make it up by pricing the used model very sensitive, but instead of making it up they insulted me even more by pricing the use car higher then the new one was and offering me not enough for my trade in. We were so far apart with the numbers it didnt even make sense to negotiate so my husband and I got up an just left. Nobody seamed to bother....they acted like they have the next customer waiting in line already...but so far I could see this place looked pretty dead to me. No other customers around. Saturday, late morning, with a big announced chefs cooking [Hot Dogs.....!] and no Customers around. So Buyers be aware........dont go there if you are serious interested buying a car and dont want to be ripped off. BIG WASTE OF TIME!!!!!!!!

Long time shopping and decided to buy a 13 certified Passat problem was there were 2 the same color...Jonathan in the service department helped me figure out which one was better suited for me. He then took me to met Jared which was helpful listened to the deal I wanted and off to met Thomas...So far all 3 interactions are above and beyond expectations. We make a handshake deal with very specific parameters. I reminded the aforementioned when I get to the business office I want the deal we have agreed on, no more - no less... Off to the business office where I am hit with a deal that looked nothing like what Thomas, Jared and myself agreed to. Again I shad shopped long and hard and my experience to this point was awesome!...The Business manager was condescending about "this is an odd amount to put down". I didnt really understand why it mattered but explained that Jared, Thomas and I have agreed on a deal and that is the deal I want...Then we have to go through him asking if I have health insurance as he tries to sell me gap coverage as a comparison. Then a pushy presentation on extended service to the tune of nearly 4k on a 14k purchase. once I declined and said if I cannot get the deal I shook hands on we have nothing, at which he went (I assume)to meet with Jared and came back an was just rude from that point not event directing us where to go upon completing signing the deal which was still slightly off the deal I agreed to. I will be happy to do business anytime with anyone at Lakeland VW but have no interest in ever dealing with him again.
