If I could give zero stars, I would. 3 words: save your money. The couches they give you are poor quality and not durable, not to mention they dont look anything like the showroom couches. I bought an L-shaped black leather couch and I had access to a truck so I didnt need to pay for the delivery fee. When my boyfriend and I went to pick it up, it was already wrapped in foam ready to be moved, so we thought "great!" However, fast forward to moving the couch up 3 stories of stairs, we took the foam off and under one of the sides was a very sticky substance, similar to glue. We tried rubbing it off with paper towels, because thats what they said all that had to be done, but it only ended up leaving paper towel particles all over it. So not only did we have stickyness all over one of the sides of the couch from the foam they put on, but we now had white paper towel pieces all over our black couch now as well. I called the following morning and I was put on the phone with the manager. I had to argue with the guy over the phone for about an hour because he was saying that it was "impossible" for their to be glue on that part of the couch and that we probably put it down on something sticky when moving it ourselves, but the foam was covering that area so how would that be? Horrible customer service. It says on the bottom of my receipt that they do refunds only for manufacturer defects, which obviously this was, but the guy was still giving me a hard time. Towards the end of our phone call, he says to bring it back and that he can only give us $220, since theres a "$100 restocking fee" (restocking fee was nowhere on the receipt). At this point, I just want to get this poorly-made couch out of our living room so I agreed. Couple days later we drive 30 minutes back to Miami with the couches to return them. I had proof that the foam was covering that part of the couch because there was foam substance stapled underneath the couch. He pretty much didnt care at all about what I had to say even though I was making fair points. He just kept repeating himself over and over. And then he tried giving us $200 even though we agreed on $220. I told him thats not what we agreed on and then he started getting mad, telling his workers to load the couch back onto our truck. Again–at this point Im completely over the horrible customer service so I close the bed of the truck and say fine. He then starts counting out the money to my boyfriend like hes 5 years old. Never in my life have I had such rude interactions with a manager. All in all, the customer service was more than awful and the couches were no way in HELL worth $300 (and thats saying something). SAVE YOUR MONEY!
Posted on 04/20/2016 I refuse to get into dialogue with you after your harassing phone calls and threats to harm my family, by saying "I know where you live! Take down those f****** reviews or else!..." plus bunch of swearing... We alerted the authorities about your threats. Your claims are false; we never used chemicals or harsh cleaners and your offer was $200 to repair it plus $130 for delivery (you did not offer to repair it for $80). And where exactly is stated Smart Buy Furniture "Warranty Policy"? Is it under the sofa or behind the receipt? Because when we asked for warranty, we were verbally assured that your furniture has five years warranty (not one year). We do not want your furniture in our home and we want full refund. Send a check for $373.43 to our address (since you said that you know where we live), than you can pick up your furniture the next day. Posted on 04/13/2016 Terrible quality sofas!!! We went there to buy a couch. We paid $380 for a sectional and $45 for extra for delivery. Within a year the cushion collapsed and imitation leather cracked all over around the groove. When we asked the owner (Carlos) to fix it, he told us not to sit on same place and asked $200 to fix it. Plus $65 for picking up and $65 for deliver it back. We told him that we paid $45 for delivery when we bought it, he simply told us that he needs to cover the costs. After a long negotiation, he reduced the delivery cost from $130 to $50!! What a crook! We are refused to pay and now we stuck with a piece of garbage cost us $425+ in our living room. Now we will see him in a small complaints court I guess... We learned our lesson, so never buy anything from this business. If you dont want to end up paying hundreds of dollars for a piece of garbage. And read their awful reviews first...
* BUYER BEWARE ! *We went in to purchase a sectional. We were very pleased with the pricing as well as the customer service AT THAT TIME. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We put a deposit down on the furniture and requested delivery. Everything went very smooth and I walked out happy. Until it came to the day of the delivery. We were scheduled to have our furniture delivered Saturday between 12-4. Around 3 I called and asked where they were. I was told they didnt know and we probably wouldnt get our furniture today. She said shed text the drivers and see where they were and to call back. I called back, and was then told that I for sure wouldnt get my furniture on the day i was told i would receive it. She said they were really busy and werent coming my way. If i hadnt have called they never would have told me i wasnt getting my furniture. I planned my day around getting the furniture and was never once called or notified there would be a delay. Very poor customer service. They were nice that day to make a sale and once the sale was made and they received their money, it was a different story.I will NEVER purchase anything from them. I still do not have my furniture and dont know when I will be receiving it. She told me to just come pick it up myself. Terrible service. Never again. BUYER BEWARE!
On last night my entire family husband and kids walked into SmartBuy Furniture we traveled miles to get there because we saw the craigslist listing and we read the reviews about the great customer service - we just received a mortgage and were excited about purchasing. I am unaware as to the reason we were not giving an A rated customer service but all of the staff present gathered around the cash register or front desk area while laughing chatting and talking. I walked up to the front area to find out about pricing and delivery- it was only at that moment I was deemed okay to speak with. We walked out with the mindset of not spending our funds with no one that wont give us a second of professionalism. Because of past experience and living in Miami we made several reasoning as to why we were not giving any attention and one of which was that we were neither Hispanic nor Caucasian. I proved it later as I watched a hispanic lady walked in and treated as if she was the First Lady of the United States.
