I almost made the mistake of going to a big box store like Chainwheel Drive instead of Bullets shop, Hands On Bicycle. Calling Chainwheel Drive to describe my bikes problems, they estimated $100+ in repairs but stated it could be more. Bullet charged me a fourth of Chainwheels estimated price. Unfortunately, I only had a credit card which he had no way to process. He told me, in all good faith, to come back with cash whenever I was back in the area. I came back immediately with his money and will go no where else if my bike is in need of repairs. A+

Yesterday I was riding and a derailleur cable rusted through. I replaced the cable but I could not get my bike to shift correctly. Something was not right. Well, today is New Years day and I did not expect to find a bike shop open. But I called this one and the owner answered. He said he was doing bookkeeping but I could stop by and he would look at it. He diagnosed my issue, replaced the needed parts, and I learned a lot in the process. The price was more than reasonable and the service was above and beyond expectations.

This is the best place for any kind of bike repair or parts, as they are way below market on just about everything, have the best knowledge of your needs, and well, it was just an overall great experience to go there and know you are welcome there too. Most places you go want you to buy asap and leave, but not this place. Its a small place, but dont let the size of it fool you any, they are very experienced and Ill be going there from now on for all my bike supplies. :)

Normally I dont bother writing reviews, but in this case I need to make an exception. I went here on a whim to get my new bike looked at and this guy was incredible. He went over everything with me and still charged a very reasonable price for what he did. I even tipped him. I was at a "boutique" bike shop just down the road when they told me it would take almost a week to have my bike looked at for over double the price Hands On charged. Highly recommended service.

Bike repair shops dont get any better than this. Superb service and technical chops with a sense of humor. Bullet performed miracles with my road bike and charged me a fraction of what the other places would charge. Plus I got a free education about my bike and its idiosyncrasies. Hands On is a rarity among businesses today. Honesty, integrity, supreme competence and value are what I experienced, and I will never look elsewhere for my bike maintenance needs.

This is not your ordinary bike shop. This little neighborhood bike shop is all about low cost parts and service, the owner (and only employee) is very knowledgeable and eager to teach you how to fix and maintain your bike hence the name of the shop. No matter what kind of bike you ride hes got you covered. I feel lucky to have a fixed gear friendly bike shop right here in my neighborhood.

I went today thinking I had to change a tube on my bike and Bullet, the owner, took the front tire off and showed me that there was nothing wrong, that it was my inflator. He also showed me a few things about my new bike that I did not know. He did not want to charge me anything. I will definitely be back when I need parts. If I could give 10 stars I would!!

AWESOME!! Brought my newly purchased used Trek into the shop at 10:00 am. Owner tuned it up, checked it all over & replaced both tire tubes. It was finished by 2:00 pm & he only wanted to charge me $30!! It would have cost me $100 back in Upstate NY...I was so thrilled I tipped him...even though he wanted to refuse the money! THE BEST BIKE SHOP EVER!

I can confirm the review by Superpisst; this is a great shop with a very knowledgable owner. Prices are very low (when he charges for anything) and expertly done. Owner was once a mechanic for US Junior team. He keeps long hours, six days a week and I have found it always a pleasure to deal with him. Highly recommended. Mike Plunkett

In a world of cookie cutter bike shops selling the same stuff for the same high prices this shop stands apart. The owner and only employee is named Bullet, and he is the nicest guy ever. He doesnt sell new bikes but if your ride needs repair or you need reasonably priced accessories, this is the place.

Good shop, only place you can walk-in knowing nothing about what you need and walk-out without being overpriced or sold something you didnt need. No bikes for sale here though, just fast and high quality service. Doesnt resemble the usual boutique shops but dont be fooled.

Hands down the BEST bicycle repair shop. All work is done well and is affordable. I will never visit a "fancy" boutique bike shop again. THANKS!
