I rented a carpet cleaner that turned out to be defective (leaking water out the back) and dirty (so filled with dog hair, gook and most likely fleas). We took pictures and videos to document the damage. Upon returning it we received the most apathetic customer service from the assistant manager. He offered to credit us back half the charge and with glazed eyes kept saying "thats all I can offer you". Incredibly unacceptable. We should have charged them for having to get the carpets re-cleaned from their negligence. This St Johns gem has definitely lost its "were happy youre in the neighborhood" sparkle. And all over $22!! Ridiculous. Its left a 100x sour taste in our mouths.

Every time I go in the employees are quick to offer me assistance. Theyre knowledgeable on the products they sell. They have a huge selection, although be forewarned the products are stuffed on the shelf (due to the small size of the store). You may have to ask to find something, but rest assured there is an employee close by to offer assistance. Youll pay a little bit more than the big box stores, but the service and convenience make up for it. Not to mention they are dog friendly (and the employees remember who you are).

I LOVE the fact that St. Johns Ace Hardware is dog friendly! Pickles and Penny (the beloved golden sisters) are part of the stores team and are often the first to greet customers! It makes my day when I stop in to get household things and get to see the dogs "working" in the store. In this heat wave Im glad I can take my dog in with me instead of having to him in the car. This Ace is always extremely neat, clean and well organized. It is always easy to find what you need and easy to feel like family.

i love this store they have everything i seem to need ad the people that work their r so helpful in everything nice to go to a store where the people know something have gone to lowells and home depoe and some of them dont know anything and i buy what they say that works then get home and it done so have to take it back so for me a women that needs some help in stuff ace hardware in st johns is the best for me thanks ace hardware

I just moved to the st. johns area where I am fixing up an old house and discovered this wonderful ace hardware! They service here is so good. they are always asking if you need helping finding anything and they literally have everything you could ever need. Dont even bother with home depot or lowes. These guys have everything you need and you are supporting the local economy. Plus, they have free popcorn. Yum.

I loved this store until I saw their dog friendly policy at work. Two large dogs nosing and licking all the candy bars below the counter. I called this out to the dogs owner and the clerks and was told this was a dog friendly store. WTH? I called this out to the manager who also smilingly said this was a dog friendly store and the candy had wrappers. Unbelievable! Don’t ever buy the candy below the counter!

5 Reasons I am glad that ACE Hardware is in the St. Johns neighborhood: 1) Knowledgeable Customer Service: The employee gave me great advice about how to install the bathroom sink. 2) They have a little bit of anything you could need for home projects. 3) Great location: I dont miss driving out to Home Depot in Jantzen Beach. 4) The Store Dog: A sweet Golden Retriever named Tana. 5) Free Popcorn!

Happy to see Ace here in St Johns. I have found the service to be top notch, if an employee did not know the answer, they took the time to find it. When I purchased a wheelbarrow, the crew assembled it for me, no extra charge. The older guy, ( wish I could remember his name) is a encyclopedia of knowledge on plumbing repairs and probably everything else too, very experienced.

On two separate occasions the kind staff at Ace helped me replace batteries in our car key fobs. One of the keys was extremely difficult but they worked on it until it was resolved saving me a small fortune by avoiding the dealership. I love this neighborhood hardware store-no other store provides that level of service.

Great service, good selection. If they dont have what you want, they can usually order it (which they have done for me more than once. If you think they are over-priced, try getting some of the items elsewhere (Freddies, Home Depot). I like also that they are local and the owner is also a local person.

Great store with great customer service. Although I always am sad to see a large chain store in place of a mom n pops store, especially in St. Johns, this Ace Hardware has such great customer service, it fills that void. They have great selection, very knowledgeable staff and are in a great location.
