The store in Glastonbury is questionable at best, but after this job applying experience, I am now concerned with how they view people and how they treat them. Staples seems like they do not respect people applying for jobs, which makes me question their customer service. They also like pressing people for phone sales, so beware of that as well. I applied at this staples and had to do two interviews. In each interview, the interviewers were making it seem as though I had the job and that I didnt really need to search for any other jobs. They even made it seem as though other people werent particularly interested in the position. Their tone was that of seeming like I was a shoe in for the position, which bothers me but does not enrage me. However, what did enrage me was when the boss of the store told me in the second interview that I would be getting called back by the end of the week with an offer. I figured that they were going to hire me especially because we were talking about pay at that moment and he had said that the first interviewer would get back to me with "an offer". This offer was mentioned on Monday and I was expecting an email around Thursday or Friday. At the end of the day, Friday, I sent an email asking when I would start among other things and the reply was that I did not get the job. I was livid. It would have been one thing if they had actually told me that I didnt get the job, thats fine, but they said I would be getting an offer while we were talking about pay. I figured that meant a pay offer or a job offer, not nothing which is what I got. So after that I sent a scathing email telling them to call me and asking about this offer and why I am suddenly not getting this offer. The next day they respond and tell me that I was not qualified enough to do the job and that I should "be more patient". I told them that they were unprofessional for telling desperate job searchers that they are going to get an offer(sounds a lot like they meant a pay offer by the conversation) and then suddenly turn that offer into nothing. That is true rudeness. Like I said before, I can handle not getting the job, but they told me I was going to get an offer(sure did sound like they meant money offer) by the end of the week, leaving me to believe I was going to get the job. I had actually stopped job searching because they made me seem so sure, but they ripped the carpet out from under me. They then had the gall to call me impatient after messing with me for two weeks. The job search has been rough, but I have never been this mistreated by potential employers, ever. I had never even raised anything more than okay for not getting a job, but this experience was ridiculous. BEWARE OF STAPLES HIRING PROCESS AND GLASTONBURY STAPLES AS WELL!

They have the rudest people in store. Bought $200 The Limited gift card online around Thansgiving, but the store has closed for bankruptcy and has stopped selling gift card since November 6. What the hell... The sale person of The Limited told us we should go to Staples, because they shouldnt sell this gift card anymore. We went to this store and received the rudest words: "You purchased it!", "You did not buy it from our store and find the online representative!", "Why did you buy the gift card that the company is going to be bankrupt?", and many more. They completely lack the professionalness and courtesy, even the general manager. After checking their reviews at BBB, I realized that they dont care their customer at all. I will never buy anything from Staples.

I went in 7/15/17 to buy a file cabinet. They had 2 kinds. A $199 and a $209 version. They did not have the $199. I asked the manager if he would sell me the $209 one for $199. He said he couldnt. I said but I see it online at a competitor for $199 and you wont price match? He said No. I said are you sure. Its $10 and you would rather I walk. He said cant do it. I also had already picked out other items to buy and had them with me. Instead. I put everything back and left. This is why retail is failing. I already have moved a lot of my office purchases to online competitor. They not only let me walk over $10 They missed out on my other purchases and future business. Its hard to understand

I wouldnt shop here. They strongly alluded I was going to be hired and then pulled the rug out from under me. People like this have no integrity, therefore I dont shop at this location. Go to the one on the Berlin Turnpike, let this one close.
