I am a review-reader. I read the reviews on line for Treads and really dreaded going in but I wanted a bike for my son that was one-up from Sports Authority, Target, etc... I am new to Parker (and CO) and couldnt seem to find anything but Treads. So I go in on a Saturday afternoon. There are other people in the store, but I was immediately greeted by a cool gal that connected with my 8-year old right away. She showed us some options; let us take the bikes on a test run in the parking lot; really spent a good deal of time explaining the differences of the two. The one my son was leaning towards was a little more expensive than I was expecting and this gal (wish I would have gotten her name), said that there might be some less expensive models in the back, in different colors with less gears, just not built yet. As she left, my son gave me those eyes - he loved the colors and the number of gears and I was in such a good mood from this experience, before she could even give me the results of her search, I said "Well take this one." We were given 5 free tune ups which in any other case would almost be the cost of the bike and a lifetime of free brake and shifting adjustments. If the bike is in decent condition when its time to upgrade, they will give me up to 50% of the cost of the old bike. I was relieved that this happened because I know there are some very unhappy customers out there who wont be stepping back in the store based on their reviews. I am not sure if I got lucky but even the guys (2 others) who made small talk with me were so nice and offered great advice to this newly transplanted CO mom. So for what it is worth, Ill be back.

I have gone to this shop off and on for 2 years. I have had horrible service and then sometimes they rock. They have done just enough to keep me giving them one more chance. Tonight was the last straw. I have a budget of 2500 to spend on a mountain bike. I go into tonight and find what looks to be a decent deal on a bike. It has a rear suspension I have never seen. I ask the typical questions. The first girl has no idea about this. She breaks a out a book that has 2 sentences about it. She says lets wait for another sales guy. He ll know. Other sales guy gets wrapped up with another customer whos name he knows. Clearly hes a regular. 20 minutes later I decide to go on a ride and come back. Fast forward an hour later. I come back. Said sales guy is STILL with the same customer but looks to be wrapping up. He comes over, looking absolutely tired. I ask, what makes this suspension different? He cops an attitude. I dont know. Its got three reservoirs Its got a lot of travel. It goes up and down. Ill get another sales man to email you. Meanwhile the mechanic who I know rides mountain bikes is wrapping up a training session. I ask can he help me? No hes going home. I wont let him work the floor. That was the last straw. I guess my sale wasnt important enough. Steer clear of this place. There are better bike shops than this near by.

How are these guys still in business? Ive been there 3 times, because I like to support local businesses, even bought my daughter a bike and a bike rack last year, their customer service is complete garbage. Walked in today ready to spend $2000 on bikes and gear for my son and I. I said hi to an employee outside dumping trash who was too cool to return the gesture and stared at us. Walked inside and wasnt greeted, just stared at by the employees at the counter. Looked at a few bikes with my 6 year old to turn around and see an employee walk up to a soccer mom who arrived after me. Not only will I never go there again, Ill make sure that everyone I know goes ANYPLACE else. Good job guys.

Wow! Outsranding integrity and service...above and beyond. Ive been in several times for small unchallenging things and Treads has done fine. This time I had a complicated shifting problem . They first replaced the worn derailleur with improvement. But when the problem returned--I suspect from generalized wear (no single part or adjustment)-- they stood behind their work. They replaced shifter, cables, derailleur, chain and cassette...at no charge! I dont expect constant perfection but I do demand integrity...and I got it. (And they got s big tip.)

The WORST experience with a "tune up" $70.00. Got a new tire that was put on the front that should have been on the back and a new cable. Treads didnt notice I needed new rims, new chain, new cluster and new shifter. After I figured out all this was even looked at, I brought my bike to a fabulous bike shop and I just wanted to let Treads know that they lost out on $440.00. I am going in tomorrow to get my "tune up" money back. Wake up Treads Parker location.

I just left with my bike and I am very impressed. I went in expecting to pay around $100 for new inner tubes and to get a tune up. The tech checked things out, cleaned and lubed all my cables, adjusted a few parts, and told me he didnt think I really needed new inner tubes or a full tune up. He filled my tires up and sent me on my way free of charge! Ill certainly be back.

I have had the team at Treads Parker help me with service on 2 occasions, and special order some parts. Very friendly staff, who advises on the best course of action - not necessarily the one that puts more cash in their pockets. Some service departments can be standoffish or lack customer service skills - not this place. This store is worth the trip.

If you need anything done more complex than putting air in your tire, youre basically screwed and will get your bike back with more problems than what you brought it there with. Its really disappointing how Im going to have to drive an hour to another shop just to get my stuff done the right way without them breaking anything else important.

Ive had two dealings with Treads. Once when I bought a bike from them and the bike came apart which they wouldnt fix what was obviously something that they hadnt put together correctly and then years later with their "service" department. More like their lack of service department. Ill never step foot in another Treads store again.

Took the wheels from my Specialized Stumpjumper in for tires and tubes. $100 later I had low-end tires (to use until I can get Specialized tires) and when I went to put wheels on bike, one was bulged where tire was not in rim. Not the professional work I need; will not visit again.
