I wish I could like this place. I was in yesterday for some minor maintenance and was asking questions about forks, shocks and brakes. "Bubba" was seriously put off by my questions and told me "hes not a shock guy." I asked who was and got a blank stare. While I was waiting I asked about an XT brake set, Bubba gave me a price and walked away. I asked what I needed to do to get this going, he literally turned his back and started eating his salad and talking bmx to another customer. I went home and ordered the brake set online. Granted, I came in wearing dirty carharts and a work shirt, but I also came in carrying an expensive wheelset. Bubba made it clear that I was wasting his time. Yesterday was the last time I spend money in that shop, and will do my best to spread the word. I dont know where these cats come from, but they really need to take care of their locals better. Bike shops dont survive solely on fixing kids bikes and flats for Broadmoor folk. Forgot to mention, went in the week before to ask about some trail info, the owner Todd knew nothing of the trail (missing link between Elk Park and Jones), when asked if he knew anyone that might, he said if he didnt know about it no one else would, wow, really. I guess the moral is, anyone can be a badass on facebook

Great customer service, even for the smallest of matters. I went in as a new customer, looking for an inexpensive, but fairly uncommonly needed replacement part (a bottom bracket lockring--a $2.00 to $3.00 item). I had previously purchased a new FSA lockring online from a different retailer, but the threads were too rough for use on my cleanly machined bottom bracket. Every bicycle store in Colorado Springs that I contacted about this part (3 shops total) referred me to Bicycle Experience. When I arrived at Bicycle Experience, the store was very busy, with every customer being attended to. I waited quietly a few minutes until someone had a chance to help me. It turned out to be well worth the wait as the employee (or maybe owner) rummaged through the stores stock of parts (used and new) and came up with a lockring that threaded perfectly. I agree with the other reviewers; they absolutely do show a genuine interest, are friendly and knowledgeable, but I will add that they also appear to stock a broad array of used parts that can be hard to find elsewhere.

Ok, so Ive read a lot of the reviews and it sounds like I got that one short straw. I took my bike in about a month ago to get it tuned up. The brakes needed readjustment and the chain was going. I told them to fix everything that needed fixing and I would pick up the tab. I come back 2 days later to pick it up and what do I find? Brakes still unadjusted, brake pads still worn down, chain maybe got cleaned, and maybe they ran a rag over the handles to make them look clean. Needless to say I payed them to do nothing. I went to a different shop (Teds) and they ended up having to replace both tires (dry rot), the chain (old age), take apart and clean the stem (it was squeaking), and replace both brake pads. I love my bike and ride it nearly every day, so having this shop tell me they fixed everything only to have another shop SHOW me the damage on my bike was infuriating. Simply said, tell them what to do and check to make sure they actually did what they are billing you for.

I purchased my first "real" bike from them a year ago. I have been in a few times since the purchase of my bike and have always had a great experience. Yes, they are a very busy place with new and used bikes EVERYWHERE! They will maintain your bike (tune ups: lube, clean, tighten cables, etc.) for free if you bought your bike there. As a beginner biker they are willing to assist me (anyone) with my questions. I kinked my chain and they were able to fix in seconds. Today I bought some pedals, cleats, and shoes. As i started earlier, I am knew to biking; they were able to offer insight. This quickly installed my pedals for me as well as the cleats on the shoes. To top it off they showed me how to used my locking pedals as well as adjusted for the perfect fit. And, they lubed my chain. The shoes were are GREAT price and so were the pedals. A higher quality than what REI sells and much less. GO IN, and BUY HERE!

Dropped in on my lunch hour to see about getting my sons bike fixed (derailer issues). Didnt know it, but the store was closed. Was anyway greeted with a very friendly "What have you got?"; I didnt even have a chance to say what was wrong, because he took a look from behind the counter and told me that the derailer was all screwed up. They took the bike (remember ... they were closed!), and I got it back the next day. Total cost? $10. Folks, youll be hard pressed to find that kind of service anywhere else in town. And oh yeah, they have a phenomenal selection of used and new bikes as well. It may not look like much from the outside, with the rows of old bikes ... or from the inside, where they are just everywhere ... but if youve ever had and loved an old trusted hometown shop thats been there for 50 years, well this is the place for you. Even if youre in another part of town, its worth the drive!

After deciding to take up biking for fun and exercise, my wife and I went to BE to get our first bikes. The experience couldnt have been better. Noah greeted us as we walked in, dropped what he was doing, and was very knowledgeable and helpful in picking out the best bikes for us. His boss took over at one point and helped us pick out the exact bikes we needed and fitted the bikes to us. He even went to his warehouse to get a slightly better fitting bike for my wife. Before the day was done his whole team would pitch in where needed to swap out necks, saddles, etc to make sure the bikes were perfect. We didnt throw a ton of money at them as were just starting, but they treated us like we did. That experience plus the free tune-ups for life will definitely have us going back for any of our biking needs in the future.

We just moved to Colorado from Louisiana and needed a good bike shop. This place was great. My kid and somehow managed to turn his derailleur upside down before we moved. I stopped by the store once and the staff was really courteous and helpful showing me where to ride around town for beginner trail riding and said to bring his bike in for a look. Brought the bike in and they said it would be about a week to fix but was nowhere as bad as I thought it would be. a few days later they called and said the bike was ready to go. Price was spot on as quoted and they even trued the wheels. I have seen a couple recent bad reviews for this place but I have been to both of there shops and had nothing but a positive experience. I will definitely be using these guys for my biking needs.
