After my last bike was stolen, I was in the market for a new bike. Theres an abundance of bike shops in Denver, so I was a bit overwhelmed in my efforts to choose one to shop at. I finally picked Alpha Bicycle Company because it had such rave reviews which mentioned good bikes, great and helpful people, and a non-snobby passion for bikes. The reviews were right! When I got to the shop, Kyle and Adam greeted me immediately and were very nice. Kyle talked to me about my needs, and helped me figure out exactly what I was looking for. I was torn between a touring build, or a more traditional cross bike. Kyle took the time to talk to me to 15 minutes, figuring out exactly what I wanted in a bike. We went on a few test rides, and found the bike of my dreams: a Salsa Vaya. Kyle then helped me set it up to my liking, with some nice touring pedals and a tire swap. He was really patient and helpful in explaining the pros and cons of each configuration, and I left the shop super stoked with my bike and really happy! Before I left, Kyle and Adam even offered me a beer, so we kicked back and relaxed before my ride home. I went back the next day to get my cleats fitted, and Im very pleased with the fit I got. Yet again, Kyle was stellar, and the experience was positive. I seriously cant rave about Alpha enough! They got me exactly what I needed, all while providing great vibes and excellent customer service. Make these guys your local bike shop, and you wont regret it!

Ive brought my bike here several times and the service was great. But today... Today was unreal, horrible customer service. First, I called ahead and was told there was little to no wait. I arrived and it was true - only one guy ahead. I brought in my bike for sealant and to inflate the tires - super easy. I was told 5 minutes tops. After waiting 15 minutes in the shop, I told them I was going up the street and would be back in 10 minutes. I was told the bike would be ready for sure. I ended up returning after over an hour because of construction on Arapahoe... My bike was not done. Now all of this would be forgivable, until the manager told me "they got busy." Wait, but I was here first? "Oh sorry, I wont charge for labor." 1.5 hours for a 5 minute job. I was even told it would be a five minute job by that same manager. I will never return.

Ive been in here twice looking for assistance, advice, and parts to get my 15 year old mountain bike going again. Theyve always been super friendly and willing to help me out even though I havent purchased too much there. They took the time to educate me on what I would need to find to get my bike going again not knowing if Id ever even walk back in the door. Ill for sure bring my business here instead of the larger chain stores. They are tucked inside a small commercial building with a small parking lot, but there is more space on the side street and behind the building if need be. Lots of support for road, mountain, and cyclocross. They have clearly been mechanics for a long time and know their stuff.

Great local shop! Have had several bikes worked on over the past year including mtn and touring and always great work and cheap. They fix what needs to be and dont play games like other shops that will charge for a full "tune-up" ($70) when it doesnt need it. I dont believe the bad review below, my guess is the guys bike was crap to begin with in which case, yes crappy mnt bikes do break. All the staff is super knowledgable about all kinds of bikes. Athough they dont carry a huge inventory, they stock the good stuff. Makes it easy. If you are looking for a great local shop, head to Alpha.

My rear derailleur was acting squirly. Brought my bike in and Kyle tweeked the barrel adjuster, and showed me how to do it myself. Added in a couple plugs for my handle bars. It took a few minutes and got me out the door. Staff has helped with my cross bike too. Plan on getting my hot rod back in at the end of the season for a through tune up. Take your bike to this great little shop!

I drove all the way from Boulder to buy a GURU roadbike from these folks. (Their Mtn. bike selection is top notch too.) The staff was helpful answering my questions and sizing me up for a correct bike fit. They were knowledgeable and never once made me feel that my simple questions werent important. I wear a sweatshirt with their logo with pride... highly recommended. (K. Neale)

Great experience in getting my bike repaired. There were very knowledgeable about what parts my old bike needed and the results were spectacular. Bike was ready exactly when promised. The only issue was that it was rather expensive, but the final cost was exactly the same as the estimate. You can tell that the business owner was an experienced and enthusiastic biker.

I have been a customer of Alpha for many years. From my first Surly and my precious Mountain bike to my latest Salsa Marrakesh, the service and knowledge has been outstanding. The folks here are extremely knowledgeable and care about the customer. I cant say enough about the service and expertise! Thank-you Nic, Kyle, Adam for all you do to make Alpha the top dog!

Friendly, honest, KNOWLEDGEABLE!!! The staff LIVES bikes- road, cyclo, mtb, big tire snow bikes. They have good stock of misc mechanical do-dads to fix ur problem, and free help or advice to get u going. Yes, they are 5% more expensive than the nation-wide chain store up the street, but WHO do you want to support?

Despite not buying my bike there, these guys are super friendly and helpful! They are willing to talk to you about things youre trying to DIY, and dont have that bike shop snobbishness that is so uncool at other shops. Give these guys a try! They have my business, and Ill buy my next bike from them.

Very helpful and friendly. Did a safety check on my bike after I was hit by a car. Found some damage, but nothing too bad. Took the time to look at my bike without rushing, even though I just dropped by. Would not hesitate to have these guys work on my bike. Definitely going back.

Adam and his crew at Alpha are very knowledgeable and helpful. They went above and beyond helping me with buying a Salsa El Mariachi bike, including really going the extra mile post-sale. All in all, they are a great LBS - you cant go wrong at Alpha!

Fantastic customer service! Replaced and installed a tube on my jogging stroller. Even took the time to pluck out all the thorns from my tire. Was in and out in 10 minutes. Will be back for any of my future bicycle needs.

We went here to look around for a bike for myself and they helped some but they truly dont have a huge selection to try out. Service could have been better, they were sort of busy, and made us feel like they didnt care.

Honest and Knowledgeable. Great local bike shop. Busted a spoke - an easy fix for them but a hassle for me - they fit me right in and Im back on the road. Been there many times and never a bad experience.
