For a small hardware store, they have a tremendous amount of inventory. Ive purchased everything from screws to nuts to hard-to-find parts, and had keys made there, too. I love the fact that if I need a part during the middle of a project, they are just down the street in south Boulder. I also love the fact that I live in a town where people value having a local hardware store, with knowledgable people and a decent selection, where profits go back to the community, more than saving $0.93 on a part at a bigger box retailer. My great-grandfather ran a general store in Cheyenne, Wyoming. So maybe its nostalgia for a past era that existed before Wal-Mart and other big box stores drove so many smaller businesses like this out of existence. But I dont think so. I think its that I prefer to deal with a store where the people really know what each product does, and can make intelligent recommendations. I do wish they were open more hours, especially on the weekend, when I have a small amount of free time to get projects done around the house. But really, thats not such a bad thing. Its taught me not to start on a plumbing project at 10:00 pm on a Sunday night :).

These guys sell most of their stuff for triple the price of anywhere in Denver or Longmont. And if it breaks or they sell you the wrong one you WILL NOT get a refund. Sometimes I am forced to go here and get something because I am working on something and dont want to drive far away. They usually follow around and watch you like you are a thief and if you have a backpack or bags they make you leave them on the floor in the walkway so you wont steal things with them. So you pay triple for stuff that has no return policy and they treat you like a shoplifter while you are in the store, Go somewhere else if you can.

I give them 4 stars only because its hard to compete with the inventory of somewhere like Lowes or Home Depot. For projects where Liberty will have most of what I need, I use them. Service is good. Return policy is fair (Ive returned items for a refund due to buying the wrong size, small re-stock fee is OK b/c I had damaged the packaging). All in all, for a classic local hardware store, these guys are fine. If you dont like big-box stores in your town, vote with your dollars and patronize these guys. My two cents, hope this helps you.

So I went to the store and had a clerk help me buy a mattress cover for a move. He told me to buy a certain size that he thought would fit a queen size bed. I found out when I went home that it was the wrong size. I called the store and asked for a refund since he led me to buy the wrong size. Both people I talked to were rude and unhelpful. It was not even the money that bothered me at all, it is the principle. If you recommend something that does not work because of your ignorance, own up to your mistake.

Steer clear! This store is extremely over priced and many of their items are dollar store quality. The last straw for me was paying $55.00 for a mop during the Boulder flood. I live right around the corner from this store but will go anywhere else, including the big box retailers.

Love this local hardware store! You cannot get the kind of customer service that they provide anywhere else in my experience. They have always gone above and beyond to assist me with anything I am purchasing and projects that I am doing. Local is always better!

i love this store and i have worked in the hardware biz for 6 yrs and Fraser should have measured the bed first and then looked at the bag and found its measurement, its called math!! sorry they didnt refund your money, the world cant always hold your hand. chris

I have always had a positive experience with this hardware store! I live in the neighborhood, and would much prefer to spend my money with them then one of the box stores. I give it 4 stars. If it was a larger store, and had more inventory, i would give it a 5

This is a great resource for south boulder. They have a surprisingly large inventory of actual hardware and its great to be able to stay in and support a south boulder business. The staff is super friendly and helpful, cant say enough about this place.
