Save up and go somewhere else!!! After years of purchasing various products that have worn fairly well considering theyre discount furniture fare (though yes, I did have a problem with a couch that broke after six hours, they did promptly send another one), today changed everything after abysmal customer service. Ill never set foot in their establishments again. After I purchased a round table that both the sales rep and myself thought could be put in my car, when I tried to pick up the item I was told I could not take it because it would not fit inside the car and though they have no proof of this, they dont allow people to tie things to the roof of their car. (The table was in a box that fit perfectly on my roof with no overhang, my doors are just horribly slanted.) When I asked why, they said liabilitiy issues. I said Ill sign a waiver -whatever and then it was no we dont do that and I dont have to give you the merchandise you already paid for! Oh really? What they did want to do was charge me more money to rent one of their trucks. Huh, you think? Well needless to say after being told that the merchandise I had already paid for wasnt even mine, I said so sad so sorry, you just lost a sale and got my refund. To make matters worse, their receipt explicitly says they are NOT liable for any damages to vehicle or even home when you unpack it if the loading was at the customer request. Seems to me if I request my merchandise and tell you Ill secure it myself dont worry about it, thats the customers request! What I found out when I called the customer service number and spoke to a supervisor was that this isnt a hard policy its basically however the loading department feel at the moment and if I had bought something large in the store from their ready to assemble section which seeing as I have in the past, those boxes can get pretty wieldy, carried it out and did the same thing, they really couldnt have done anything. Huh, fascinating. Apparently they dont know anything of consumer rights. The whole fiasco save my phone call was fraught with rude and condescending jerks. THAT is why Ill never do business with them again. You can make up your own rules, but when you have nothing to back it up and just say I dont have to give you your merchandise, but you could spend some more money and rent our truck? Off you go. Its the same reason I dont shop at Wal-Mart. Cheap products equal crap customer service and seeing as if we dont stand for this and other poor service things and subsequently dont buy your product you lose your job? I have no problem taking my business elsewhere. Incidentally, I went to Home Depot, bought a similar table (actually looks nicer because it was a more pleasing design for me, though its made out of the same wrought iron material) for only twenty bucks more and they didnt care if I tied it to the roof of my car, which I did and amazing, I had no issues getting home, unloading and setting it up. Not a scratch on it. Well, look at that. AFW could have let me sign a waiver they supposedly have according to their receipts and all of the hassle and lost future revenue could have been avoided. Seriously, dont waste your time, just go to IKEA or save up and get REAL quality furniture elsewhere. Lower price just equals more headache.

I tried to give AFW the benefit of the doubt but I finally gave up on them and am deciding to make this review today to let others know just how scamming and unoganized they are. Me and my husband got a box spring from here about a year ago. The man that helped us said since it came as a double box spring and not one big solid one, they were $90 a piece. I had no problem paying that but then he said he could save us some money and get them for $80 a piece. When they delivered it, one of them had a rip in it already. So he basically sold me a defective box spring for $20 less. Less than a month later that same side of the box spring broke! I was told I couldnt return it or get at least half of my money back. My mother in law needed some furniture so we came back here today. She got a TV stand, book shelf and a picture for her wall. She paid $317. I cant tell you what the quality of the furniture is like because we have been sitting here over an hour to pick them up because their computer system is down. When I ask if we can just go get it and they can enter it into the computer system later they have an attitude and say it doesnt work that way. I guarantee if you shop at any other furniture store they let you walk out with it immediately! This is crap and she should get a discount for this. But shes not going to get one, they cant even give good customer service. Even the sales guy that she bought it from had an attitude because we were standing there forever asking for help so we could buy the stuff. I mean we have to assemble it still, why is is such a big deal to just grab it? I dont get it. We were here at 5:00 PM and made the purchase around 5:30 - 5:45 PM. It is now 7:15. When I call to talk to a manager or customer service you just get a run around and an attitude. The employees at the counter think its a joke apparantly and just laugh. They dont seem to care weather you get what you paid for or not. I couldnt think of any better way to spend my Saturday evening then sitting here waiting on furniture that was already paid for while some employee is sitting there laughing at you!! I always try to shop at local stores but I tried twice here and its been nothing but bs both times. Oh and by the way, this is a dead zone for phones so expect TONS of lag. You cant even look at a movie on your phone to get your mind off of waiting so long. Just an update, it is now 8:00 PM and they are now telling us to come back tomorrow.

Updating my review: This has been one of the worst retail experiences of my life. Such disrespect, borderlines discrimination. Not only could I not get helped in the showroom floor and had to ASK for a salesman, but the process following was absolutely unacceptable. They ran my CC wrong, so after I left with my receipt and all, I was called to drive back up during the middle of my work day to re-pay for the furniture, if "I wanted my furniture delivered on Saturday" they guy told me when asking if I had to get back in that day. So of course, I take more time out of my day to go BACK in and fix his mistake. Well Saturday rolls around, and guess what.... NO DELIVERY! I had to call AFTER my window time was closed, and see where they were. I received no call during the day to inform me of the delay, and when the drivers finally called me (after I had to call customer service and find out what the deal was), the drivers only explanation for why he didnt call was " I dont know" and he would be another 30-45 minutes... So thats fun. Then when customer service called back, she was EXTREMELY rude and since I work during the week she told me I was not being flexible enough for them, and it would have to be delivered the following Saturday. So of course, I ask for a refund because I cannot wait for my furniture to be delivered for another hour that day, due to I HAD TO TAKE MY MOTHER TO HER CHEMO APPOINTMENT! My money was NOT REFUNDED until I had to call the following Tuesday and as why it hadnt been refunded. They gave me no explanation, and another "I dont know". I essentially had to do these peoples jobs for them and follow up on my items. You buy cheap furniture you get extremely cheap service. Will never step foot in this place again. Still have not had my $$ refunded, so in a few days I will have to take legal action if not corrected. What a waste of time Ive spent dealing with these people. Also, management will ask to contact them.... taking more time out of my day to tell them how to do their jobs? You have my information, you can contact me. Unless this happens so much you guys cannot decipher who you treated like garbage.
