Well I have read other comments but I think mine has topped it all. So I have spent thousand of dollars at afw several times. Well my last purchase was on a 3 piece living room set over 1500s. Got home unpacked and the arm on the chair and large couch was sunk in. Also the wood trim was all scraped up. Contacted customer service they offered to replace. So my husband took back and got an exchange. I received a call a week later stating there was a couple throw pillows not return. Explained I would ask my husband when he got home from work and I will call them back and let them know if they were in truck I would return of not I would pay before I was able to call back the employer called back leaving a message threatening to run my card on file for $150. I call back asked to speak to store manager about how the issue was addressed to me I a improper manner. Spoke to another person in the same dept told me the issue would be taken care of. I called back and told them I have the pillowsand can you send someone to pick up my husband works 13 hours a day 6 days a week. 1 car. I would return within the week. Now I was also pregnant I bed rest. So before I new or the called send they would have someone pick up. So they picked up. Anyways long story short. I went today to buy my 83 year old grand mother a mattress for her hospital bed and was told buy the associate they could no longer sell me any merchandise. So I contacted thecompany front desk asked to have the corporate # so I could get explanation because no one would explain why I was banned to purchase anything. Was given a number I Denver which was not the correct number. Now I have been told they refuse to lift it. And the funny thing is. The same girl that called and harassed me I the issue is the same person who declined the lift. .. Multi million dollar company stopped a valued customer from shopping for a throw pillows they got back. If the furniture want damaged and the employees did their job and checked in the Merchandise properly there wouldnt have been an issue..

I went to the Englewood location in July to shop for furniture for my daughter’s new apartment. We were promptly greeted at the door and were able to go through the warehouse without feeling like we were constantly attacked by salespeople (like some other furniture stores). The warehouse is filled with furniture for every room and with multiple styles. This was beneficial as we were able to purchase a pull-out sofa, a living room chair, end table, coffee, table, entertainment center, dining room set, bedroom set (storage bed, dresser and nightstand) and a mattress. That is a lot of furniture and we were pleased that coming here accomplished all of our needs. 1 item (the chair) was on backorder, but as soon as it came in notification was received and delivery set up quickly. Stephanie Parish was our sales consultant. We ran into her while trying to decide on a sofa and from there she continued along with us on our shopping journey. She was patient as we went through our decisions and made helpful recommendations. Never once was she pushy and she truly wanted to make sure that the selections met my daughter’s needs. When shopping for the mattress she made sure that my daughter tried each one she was interested in so that she could pick one that would be comfortable. At one point when picking the bedroom furniture, my daughter was conflicted and Stephanie took the time to explain the differences between the two types of furniture and how they were made. She even gave some decorating tips for how to incorporate other colors into the living room to match the couch. Stephanie was a wonderful sales consultant and if there is ever a need for additional furniture, Stephanie would be the one we would want to see. I highly recommend her if you want someone who is interested in your style and your needs. We went on a Monday and by Wednesday the furniture was delivered. The delivery men were friendly and made sure we were comfortable with the furniture set up prior to leaving.

We purchased a console table from AFW and, when we unpacked the box at home, realized that we did not have the hardware or instructions for assembly. We called customer service. I guess I am used to reputable furniture dealers like Havertys, Slumberland and Nebraska Furniture Mart, who apologize for errors and do whatever it takes to make the customer whole and happy. Neither Cheryl or her supervisor, Jeff, we apologetic. They both made excuses and told us the best they could do, for the inconvenience of us having to drive another 32 miles roundtrip to pick up the missing parts, what to provide us with a $25 store credit. Why would I want store credit to buy more shoddy merchandise from a low quality provider? Then, they assured me that if I returned to the store, the hardware would be available. So, I immediately got off the phone with Jeff and drove back to the store on a Sunday night, arriving about 5 minutes before closing time. The supervisor in the loading dock seemed surprised that I was there for parts and acted very baffled by my presence. He and his counterpart tapped on the computer and exchanged strange glances, but at no point would answer me when I asked, "Is there a problem?" They left me standing there in awkward silence while I then had to wait another 10-15 minutes for the crew to find ad the hardware. While dealing with Jeff, I said that I felt AFW was "rinky dink" and the "Kmart of furniture stores." My apologies to Kmart, because Ive never been treated this poorly there.

We have just moved from Hawaii to Colorado and needed to furnish our entire house. I was dreading this process and was recommended to go to American Furniture Warehouse. Boy am I glad I did. Our first impression wasnt great (no one stopped by for a bit), but that all turned around when John Hoody spotted us and offered his expertise. John absolutely made our experience at AFW the best it could have possibly been. Not only was he patient with us and willing to walk us through the entire store and back (when I wanted to see something again), he also KNOWS his products. I told him what I was looking for, he asked all the right questions and knew exactly what area to take is too. Great, right? He didnt stop there! I went to our house and started to rethink one of my purchases. I gave him a call and he walked me through it all (at 10Pm!). He assured me to think about it and let him know and he would personally make the changes before the delivery guys loaded it (we wouldnt be able to change our mind without a feee after this). He personally changed my order even after he left work after 10pm at night! Now that is what I call service! My husband and I are fully convinced that John is the reason our home furnishing experience was so painless, thorough and easy!
