Do not expect to receive the same quality of product as is represented by the floor model. We saw the Brasilia bed in the store and it looked beautiful with a gorgeous finish. We ordered the bed only to realize that the actual product looked very shabby. There were five different conspicuous places in which the frame was simply missing varnish --streaks, whole swatches of unvarnished wood. Rather than a brand new bed, it looked like a decade-old bed frame that you could find at a garage sale. So I called S.D. and they kindly offered to replace it, and invited me to visit the store to inspect the replacement product. When the replacement arrived, I inspected it only to find out that it was only slightly better than the previous one I received. The color and the quality of the varnish application was very similar to the first product I received, yet very different from the floor model, which looked perfect with an excellent varnish and even color application. When I asked the employee who was helping me why the actual products look so different in quality than the floor model, her response was "Thats what you can expect in this price range." But to me, the price range shouldnt matter. Your floor model should be a reasonably accurate representation of what the customer will receive. After seeing such a big difference between the advertised and actual product, there is no way that I would risk making a purchase in a higher price range! The employees were very nice, but not very empathetic about what I perceived as rather false advertising of the floor models. So, what someone else said, that it was like Ikea but with slightly higher prices, is probably, unfortunately, accurate. I had been very excited about shopping there to buy more furniture, but I just cant put faith in a company that exhibits so little concern about the quality of the product provided to the consumer.

I dont normally write negative reviews, but I felt the need to for this store. I had ordered a coffee table, book shelf, and two ottomans. Regarding the coffee table, I was told that because we would be buying one straight off the floor, we would receive a 15% discount on i. However, that did not turn out to be the case; when I asked the sales rep about it upon returning, he said that "It was wait 3 months and get a 15% discount, or buy it off the floor for the full price" when I remembered specifically that is not what I was told. Also, the coffee table came with a scratch on it already! Regarding the book shelf, I spent a good number of money to get one, but when putting it together, it turned out to have shoddy holes and I had to improvise with it; that is something that I can expect from a bookshelf at Target, not this type of store. Lastly, regarding the ottomans, I had specifically told the sales rep which two that I wanted; when I returned to pick everything up, he said that "One of them is not the one you wanted, but the other one." Was it too much to ask for a specific freakin ottoman? I spent too much money here to have sketchy customer service, damaged "new" furniture, and I will not be returning. Which is a shame, because they have a lot of nice things in the store; the first experience will be my last.

I called to order a chaise sectional I had previously looked at. The salesperson told me I could put 20% down to order the item, then pay the rest and schedule a delivery when it arrived from the warehouse a week later. The next day I discovered they had charged the full 100% to my debit card, which caused my account to be overdrawn. When I called to explain the issue, the manager abruptly accused me of fabricating the story, said his salespeople wouldnt do anything like that, and begrudgingly processed a return. They had to reorder the item, which caused another week delay, then their delivery service was booked until the following week, so I had to wait another 2 weeks to get my sectional. Then, when it finally arrived, the chaise was on the WRONG SIDE! I took great pains on more than one occasion to make it absolutely clear which side the chaise should be on, and they still screwed up. Never shopping here again. Most incompetent salespeople ever...

Sleazy sales reps and managers, terrible customer service, and one of the worst purchasing experiences of my life. I spent a lot of money on a chair, hoping it would be long lasting and good quality. It wobbled when assembled so I went to the store to have it replaced. After jumping through some hoops, a second chair was delivered that also wobbled. The quote from Maximillion, my sales associate, was that the floor must be uneven. I was told that the only options for the chair were to keep the one I had (at full price), take the one I had before (again at full price), or return it entirely. I opted to return it, I was done with this entire experience at this point. They never picked up the chair, I ended up paying full price. Its barely usable because it wobbles so badly. The whole process took about six months. They win, Maximillion got to keep his commission on the sale, which I think is what was really driving the lack of customer service.

As others have said there are some very nice items but it is hit or miss with quality. Having said that we bought a number of items here to furnish our home. Items that we wanted to customize take a long time to receive, as we were told it could take up to 6 months to select a couch in the color and fabric we wanted! Also, items are not in stock and items are not in as promised. Still waiting for pieces we ordered and now we are being told that they are back ordered which was NEVER mentioned when we purchased the item. Now on our third conversation with a staff person telling us he is not sure when our item will arrive but fingers crossed it will come in soon. REALLY! ... I could go on with everything that has gone wrong but Ill stop here. Not worth shopping here.

So we spent over $2000 on office furniture that was on sale...no returns". What they dont tell you is that "no warranties" either apparantly.(it wasnt scratch & dent it was the last set of its kind in the store). We get it home it has glass doors really cool, a week later we close the door and it cracks across the front. I take it appart to have it replaced find out that it was installed improperly an the glass was never secured with the tape attached to the frame. It moved and cracked at the hole used to secure it. Now they are charging us $95 for a new glass panel that was their fault. We will never buy from scandanavian again. You better check and see what they warrant, because its not much....steve & kristen

We had a custom couch made with the upgraded fabric. Just a few months after we took deliver the stitching started to bulge/separate. And a few months after that we started noticing fading (not placed in the sun). We have contacted Scandinavian many times, they have promised us a tech would come out to look at our couch as well as provide the holding clips that were never installed. This was back in April and they told us someone would be out by early May. We havent heard a single word from them since then. This was an extremely nice couch when we took delivery and without much use, has deteriorated very quickly in 8 short months.
