In the past, I have rarely had any problems with the cashiers, but today I reached a tipping point from what I observed. There has been a recent hiring of cashiers that are young Latino and Filipino at this location, and that generally doesnt matter, but today I witnessed what looked like flippant racism that I have seen elsewhere by cashiers in this plaza; Home Depot is a perfect example. It may not matter to some, but this event is to me what looked like a slippery slope for future poor behavior. I was standing in line behind three people; one Asian woman paying for her groceries, a black man with two large TVs, and behind him a white young man with a cart of groceries. Next to the line, another lane was opening up and the white man in front of me goes into that lane. There was no attempt by anyone else to move into the lane and he moved at an average pace. I even admitted to myself that he clearly took advantage of an opening lane, which was fair game, and I took the spot behind him, but the black guy who was in front of him prior mumbled "Hey now!" as if something wrong had happened. The cashiers were both Filipino and were then insistent on the black guy being served first, even though the white guy had moved into the lane and asked if they were opening it up. The black guy chuckled at the adamant behavior of the cashiers to allow him to cut two other people in a new line. Ultimately, the black guy declined twice as he realized that he wasnt being treated unfairly; also, the Asian woman ahead of him had just finished paying too. They kept asking "Are you sure?" "Are you sure?" "Because I will serve you first!" as if the customer with the TVs had been wronged and there were some reparations in order. If they had gone through and served a customer from a different line first, I would have advised that young man to talk to management and I mightve had a few words myself. Just ridiculous. At the end of that incident, the Filipina cashiers held an unprofessional attitude about how the white guy didnt respond to their "courteous checkout phrase" that they mumbled while trying to ignore what just happened a few seconds ago, and they kept hissing "he just took his receipt and left." Altogether, I have been hearing more and more unprofessional conversation at the checkout counters over the past year from the new hires, and unfortunately they have all been younger women; the older Latinas and Asians are professional and courteous. The younger Latina women have unprofessional conversations about sex and dysfunctional relationships as well as their perception of unfair upward mobility in the company; the reason for their slow progression being obvious even to the customers. And now I have seen a new group of Filipina women who have similar conversations and hold attitudes with the customers; including myself. Now, I have to admit that I am a die-hard Costco fan and it is one of the only American corporations that I love, but this location has suffered recently due to the new hires that they have working the warehouse; primarily the cashiers. Like many reviewers, I have had problems with the employees at this specific Costco location and it disturbs me as I know that Costco has a strong culture of paying well and allowing employees to work their way up to the top (an actual requirement for administrative positions), and it would pain me to see any of the recent customer service representatives make it to the top of the company. That may lead to a quick decline in the value that Costco offers and the service that has made it the best place around. When it comes to asking general employees around the store where I might be able to find an item, it usually ends up being hit or miss. The hits are curt responses to my queries, which are usually accurate. The misses are downright rude customer neglect or "I dont know." responses. Costco needs to fix these problems with better training for their employees. They should know the policies and how to behave professionally.

Horrible turn time and non committal to tire arrival date. I ordered and paid for a set of factory spec. tires, was told they should arrived in 2 to 3 business days, after calling on 3rd and 4th business days, NO tires and all I get is a non committal to exactly when they will get here because they do not have a tracking number. I reached up to the the administrative office, finally they gave me a time the tires should arrive, full seven business days. (but it is recommended i call ahead before showing up on the seventh business day) In todays quick turn time and AMAZON prime world, I just cant see how they can get away with this kind of slow turn time. The official explanation i got from them is that Michelin only deliver the tires once a week (new policy) .....I find that completely non-believable, COSTCO has very limited selection of tires. Michelin and COSTCO are both huge companies, weekly deliveries? My instinct tells me that someone made a mistakes and the order was misplaced but like so many other sub par places, NO ONE was brave enough to step up and tell the truth....As a consumer, being told the truth feels so much better, I expected better from COSTCO. I hope the management team can take note and make the proper correction.

On more than one occasion I have waited an eternity, literally 15 MiN standing and staring at the supervisor of the tire dept (Gary). while he fumbled around with numerous book keeping tasks just to ask a question. I wasnt alone in my exasperation there were two other customers waiting patiently. Why the hell this guy refuses to call one of the numerous employees working in the back to help him briefly at the front counter I cant reason. So after the long wait I was told that they dont test batteries because they dont have a battery tester. These guys sell batteries in the tire shop why wouldnt they have a tester. Nearly all auto parts stores sell and test batteries while you wait. Wake up and smell the coffee Gary and costco. I wont be coming back anymore for tires. You guys should stick to selling bananas and hamburger meat.

Costco has always brought name brands in all the stores. So that much goes to all the stores. As to this particular one...depends on the department you are talking about. The Tire center guys cover too many stations hence I can see why the poor service. The guy at the desk has to install tires as well...not good. There are abnormally more people in this location with not great attitudes toward customers. Something I think each store manager is responsible for. Store is always neat and clean.
