I brought my Raleigh M80 in to be tuned up. Its a ten year old bike, but in great condition. I just needed to be looked over, have some cables tightened, and the rear shifter worked on because it wouldnt shift into the larger rings. When I got it back, the tires were inflated properly, the brake lines (mechanical discs) were tighter, but it still wouldnt shift. They didnt inform me of this when I left, they just gave me the bike. The old bike shop (70 miles from here), would give you a run down of what was wrong with it that needed to be fixed before you left (much like an auto shop). I did some research, and it turns out the lubricant can gum up causing this issue. Opened the shifter myself, sprayed some WD-40 in there, cleaned it out, and reapplied some light lubricant, and BAM, it works. What did I spend ~$60 for if they couldnt at the very least inform me that they didnt fix it. How did they even tune up my bike if they never shifted the rear to notice it didnt work. Also, this all apparently took them a week to accomplish. Would not go there again. *Quick Edit* I only went here on suggestion from a coworker. Hes going to get an earful today about this

Bought a bike from the tustin store, which had a few noticable scratch marks on it and a tire that was mounted incorrectly. The front wheel was also off center. I went to the santa monica store and the guys there told me they didnt have the bike nor were they able to help readjust the wheel position. I then proceeded to calling the torrance store and a guy by the name of andrew gladly helped me out. Offered to let me take in my bike get it adjusted, or exchange it for the one they had at thier store. On the day I went, other sales associate seemed a bit smug, but andrew was there and helped me do the exchange and even personally tuned up the new bike for me. Now thats what you call the performance bicycle 100% customer satisfaction.. I think most of the negative reviews come from lazy unhelpful employees, but if you find someone helpful, performance bikes has great prices and some good perks

I came in with my wheels for my 2010 Ibis to simply get tubless tires mounted. Chris the service guy could do nothing but complain about how hard they are to mount and that he has other things to do. This is after the first service guy said he was off at 6:30 and I walked in at 5:47pm. I asked him to please try and if he could add Stans tubeless sealer, he never even heard of Stans nor do they cary it! What service tech does not know what STANS is? It was voted by MTBR magazine top tubless tire sealer, and then he asks me why not just use tubes? Maybe he should pick what bike I should ride next time! I asked for my one wheel that he so hesitantly took from me and walked out with nothing done! Missed my night ride. Eddie

My store of last resort ( they do have a lot of stuff in-stock ) , but you have to put up with being belittled and treated rudely ( Note:Theyre not bike snobs like some other High end bike shop folks, just under trained and unhappy ). I always check their online stock, but they still only have the item 50% of the time. That said and not trying to be racist, if you do go look for one of the two Asian dudes that have been there for years. Good Luck Edit to this review: The rude treatment by this retailer is echoed by the parent company Performance Bicycle. I sent them a message about the treatment I received and didnt even get a "Sorry About That" robo letter.

Overly expensive, snarky attitude. all i needed was a chain replacement and he said there was about a 3 day wait. and when i asked if theyd do a return if the chain I bought from them snapped they told me no. I Came back the next day for a replacement/return and a younger gentlemen was polite and gave me good service and offered to help for free, while on the other hand and older guy thats always eating infront of customers yet again tried to find a solution (that didnt work) and yet again gave me an unpleasant attitude. got my money back will not be returning.

I was shocked at some of the prices on the equipment that they had here. Other bike shops sell the same items for much cheaper. The store and equipment seems fancy, but upon closer inspection, some of their stuff was cheap crap. They had a fancy bike on display (with a hefty price to boot) with cheap components! My husband found some good shoes in the clearance area, but when we went to the register, we found it was not on clearance after all! Whether the shoes were in the wrong area, or the guy rang it up wrong, we dont know. We wont be returning.

I visited Performance Bicycles on Redondo in Torrance ca. The store had just open and customer were walking around. Some talking to sale representative. I observe an Afro American man asking a sale person about an bike issues he was having. The person who was white responded in a unprofessional manner. That was rude and condescending. I will never buy are recommended this bike store to any.

Jon and Andrew really know their stuff and give it to you straight. Although the prices seem high, they seem to be competitive with all the other bike shops. Their service department always seems to be backed up, I dont believe they have one day service. I just started cycling and they helped me alot. If their service department was not so backed up I would definitely rate them higher.

Most of the time they dont even greet or ask you if you need assistance. If you ask for help they make you wait long periods of time. There is however someone you can always count on. Ask for John, if you find him, he is always polite and prompted to help. Gives the best advice and gets the work done. The only reason I still go there. 5 stars to him. 3 for the overall store.

Great customer service, was very patient while answering my questions, I purchased two bicycles for my little girls, and pricing was awesome ! If youre in the neighborhood for a new bike I highly recommend performance bicycle and speak with JP, that is the sales rep that helped me, Happy New Year. .

Bad Customer Service, over the phone they said they could do a maintenance job and have my bike ready the same day, when I brought it, they said they were packed and they wouldnt have the time to work on it for the next two weeks. Spin Doctor is pretty much useless if you need things done quickly

Been here twice in a week (two different problems) and they squared my bike relatively quickly and got me back on the road. Better than decent place.
