I came here for the first time today, and I am already in love. Sports stores are already dangerous territory for me since I love buying running accessories, and sports basement has an incredible selection at even better prices. When I took a look at their shoe selection for example, I noticed that shoes were between $10 - $20 cheaper than I have been able to find anywhere else. They literally have everything you could possibly ever want for your athletic needs. The even better part is that their staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Each person is very involved in at least one sport, so it was easy to ask opinions about the merchandise. All of their stuff is also tested to ensure it meets their standards before they offer it in store. I also started reading other peoples reviews just now and realized that they have free classes (yoga, pilates, core) and a running club. This place is honestly a dream come true for a fitness junkie like me. Im so happy that I came across it and I will absolutely be back again soon to try some of their classes and go on yet another fitness shopping spree!

This is my first time at Sports Basement! I wish Id discovered this place sooner. We got 2 pairs of winter boots. They had 30% discount on all snow gear since its end of season, and that included winter boots. I compared prices online and at Sports Authority, and Sports Basement definitely had the best price with the 30% discount. Then we got additional 10% off with their membership, which costs $25 for lifetime but you can get it for free if you check-in on yelp. Staff were very helpful. I initially didnt find boots I liked that fit my size, and they helped me look up if it would be available at other store locations. They also took a look at the fit and found out I should really go a half size bigger, so they actually do have my size. The staff also said I can return or exchange if the size doesnt fit even after use.

These guys are always nice and helpful, giving lots of insightful advises. +their online price match + 10% costco card discount = win update: 12/23/2014 during the last several months did many more trips to here - very satisfied with their support and thoughtful advises. On one occasion, I had my FSA crank axle broken, Blair here took the initiative, contacted FSA on my behalf with the warranty request. Seeing me so upset and while FSA was processing the request, Blair brought from home a spare compatible crankset of his, so that I am not sitting idle and unhappy. I used this guys crankset for 3-4 weeks! They charged me only for the replacement labor. I am very happy knowing they are there in case something happens to my bike.

I had bad experience with this tore. They could not allow me rent boot because they wanted charge me to check my skis and then charge me again to tune binding of my skis. So I rented boots in "The Ski Renter" in mountain view and got service with waxing and tuning for nothing. Also guy in rent was very nervous. He did not allow us take ski boots util I find manager and explained problem to him - to rent boots I need check skis and to check skis I need at least one boot from rental. Damn, I spend all my lunch time for it.

My go to for sports equipment. The inventory is extensive and covers the whole range of the high end sporting goods market. From swimming and cycling, to general fitness and team sports such as baseball, soccer and camping, Sports Basement has it all, and then some. The layout of the store is a bit funky, but I can forgive this because of the great deals and discounted prices on everything. They also give 10% off to employees of many corporations in the area, so just ask, or bring a Googler with you.

This is my 2nd review online ever. It takes a lot for me to write anything. I bought skis from these people. Had a nice fitting experience but when I went back to get my skis, they couldnt find it. They mistakenly sent it to another store. I griped and they apologized. What I couldnt believe was when Steve J. (he is the one who apologized) called and said he will bring it to me the next day at my house. And he did! When was the last time someone did this? Just for that Im coming back.

Came here with 3 of my buddies to rent ski + snowboard sets for a day up at Tahoe. The rental staff were very helpful and attentive, and moved quickly, even though people were piling in here in an Friday after-work rush. Equipment was in great condition (although they ran out of the exact boot size for one of my buddies), and returning them the next day was a 3-minute affair, in and out of the store. Definitely exceeded all my expectations. Highly recommend this place for ski rentals, etc.

I enjoy riding my bike and from time to time, I need maintenance on it. After looking around, I found Sports Basement to be the closest bicycle shop around. After buying oils, tires, wheels, and other accessories for my bike, I HIGHLY recommend this place. The staff is helpful and professional. Their stock is great, and so are their prices. Theyre simply AWESOME! If you ever need your bike worked on, or even friendly advice, dont hesitate! Sports Basement is my sporting good store!

The guy in the ski rental department has very bad attitude. I just had a simple request of trying on a pair of ski boot of two different sizes and compare them at the same time so that I am sure which size fits me better. But the guy insisted I should have one of the size. I asked another service person to give me another size. Then when I tried it on, that guy just took away the first size of boot without asking me. I just dont want this guy to service me anymore.

After getting into rock climbing at Planet Granite down the road, my friends and I decided it was time to buy shoes and we went to Sports Basement. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and all three of us ended up getting shoes. I also got a chalk bag. They had a good selection and the prices were the best Ive seen around here. The place itself is enormous (an old Frys location) and I would definitely go back for any future sporting needs.

This place is huge, and seems to have a little bit of everything. Unfortunately, this means that the stock they carry of any one class of thing isnt as comprehensive as you might like. I came here at 7 pm on a Sunday looking for parts for my bike, which uses weird stuff. I had no luck getting matching parts, but was able to get some "good enough" parts. A+ for hours and convenience, but C- for what-you-see-is-what-you-get. So, I give it a solid B.

I moved to the bay area a year ago, and this has become my go-to store. I bought my bike from a different LBS, but I wish I had bought it here. I have used them to service my Felt bike a few times, and they are simply great. They gave me sound advice on parts, and they were very understanding about some of my particular concerns. The staff are very friendly and helpful, although occasionally you do have to search a bit to track one down.
