Yep, the Asian guy (Mgr). I was recently there and noticed a condescending attitude right off, no hello, no welcome, no thanks,. More like whadya want ? I remembered this guy from years ago talk about leaving an impression? Since he wasnt doing anything and there werent any customers I asked if they could do a few minor items he said "we can schedule it in a few days...meanwhile no customers in the store? Nicely, I asked can you do it now? In a chastising voice he replies "nope all kinds of bikes we have to get done by tomorrow" yet no one working on bikes? Then the all-star said in a condescending voice as to educate "you know your not the only customer" (this coming from a kid was interesting, ha ha) while standing around gnawing on pizza on the sales floor, shooting the sht with a fellow worker who seemed to be ignoring him more interested in trying to get some work done. Its like back in the days when computers first came out and the I.T. guys were cocky cause they knew you couldnt go to anyone-else for repairs to get your work done w/out their help? Because of their crap attitude we all learned how to fix our own computers and quite frankly dont need them. Got news for ya pal theres nothing like all the competition around your store fact is most of us can take about 45 minutes refresher course and do everything you can without that attitude, grief and save the money just for the sport of it!!!! Who needs to buy anything in your store we can get anything you sell delivered to our doorstep in two days w/out the attitude and spending 20 minutes to find parking?? Folks go to Castro Valley, Pleasanton and anywhere else. Obviously judging by these reviews Cyclepaths dont have an interest in earning your business. (except the two other guys there) I will say the two other individuals in the store were nice and helpful but you get the impression the other guy has the hammer on them. If you agree your experience with mine, give a thumbs up so we cn let others know!

As far as Im concerned maybe other people have just had bad luck, but each time I go there I feel close to 0% of pressure (maybe thats considered "bad" customer service?) I went in there a month ago and a guy asked me if there was anything I was looking for and I told him I was looking for mtb gloves. He directed me to the selection and informed me on the different types, their purpose and even which ones he recommended. From that he also asked if there was a particular color I wanted and he went out of this way and checked the inventory for the color. A couple of days ago I went in to get new tires and this time with a different staff, again, no pressure, I told him what I was interested in and he helped me thoroughly. Got my tires and am very pleased with their service as well as their knowledge. Going there tomorrow to get my friends bike tuned up. P.S. I think they prefer if you ask them for help with the intention of actually having a question since its probably frustrating trying to figure out which of the infinite amount of things a person might want. I doubt theyll get upset, but I think its always best to go them with a purpose otherwise just let them do their job working on the bikes (that pretty much applies to most bike stores)

Im confused about the previous reviews, because my experience was great! What I fdid find out was the store has recently undergone some changes where the original owners have come back to the store. (so bad reviews=previous owners?) I have lived in the cv/hayward area all my life, and actually bought my first bike as a child at this store in the 80s! Now Im back to get bikes for my own kids! Its great to see/feel the "family vibe" inside the store. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful and very kid friendly. They have new models which other stores dont even have yet with great prices and accessories to trick out whatever ride you have! As a family we were able to walk out with great kids bikes as well as a bike for my husband who is 6"7 and they had a great mountain bike in stock that fit him! added bonus: they stayed open late on sunday to help us and after it was great to see that the owner and the entire staff were getting ready to go out together on a bike ride after the store closed.

NICE ... i ride an 18-speed, and a great bike shop is mandatory for me ! these dudes know bicycles, i brought my old takara bike there ,,, it had a stripped crank, and there was no way to find an old replacement part for it. so i made the smart new and bought a whole new crank assembly, they installed it, and it works like a champ ;) its WAY better than the original was, and the price was fair ... i went home after and shopped for the part online and it was like only $10 cheaper but then i had to pay for shipping, and wait ... instead i had it done right away and i was back on the road. great shop, i know bike shops and this one is a 10/10 ... great downtown location, right next to a hardware store, and outstanding italian food, for the win !

What can I say except professionalism and serious expertise are what you get here! My Story: I went to some big box stores and thought I would get a good bike....both broke within a week. At the last break - the seat falling as the fastener broke - I decided to go to a "real Bike Shop". I looked up bike shops on Google Maps and found this one - not too far from my house. I went in and a young man came to my assistance...summed me up, got me a bike that was priced right, and met my needs (trying to use my commute as my gym. Me: 49 and out of shape). What a great experience. If you want a professional to help you then this is the place to shop. You will not be disappointed.

True story last year 2016 me and my wife we buy three bicycles, and last week I come back because I was looking for at a stem for my mountain bike and the guy show me a user one and I think maybe they can sell it cheaper, and when I talk with the owner he says: this is a good like New so $45, and I was surprise so I say: is use can you drop the price at least $10, we buy you three bicycles last year and he say sorry but thats the price. so I was like this is the place that I really like it ????? he was so rude to me to be honestly, so I never come back or is spend my money on that place is sucks

I purchased a mountain bike here. The staff isnt the friendliest bunch but after searching all over the east bay and peninsula not many shops are. I decided to purchase an 07 Gary fischer tassajara. After doing some additional research online I was convinced that the fork was not the quality I was looking for. So I called the manager and he agreed to order me a new one of my choice at no charge! I was very happy. I love the new fork and would definately buy from them again. They really know how to make a customer happy
