The reviews indicate mixed feelings about the customer service at Lion Market. While some customers find the service reasonable, others have expressed dissatisfaction with the staff's lack of English proficiency and unfriendly demeanor.
There are instances where customers felt that the store had trust issues with them, leading to uncomfortable situations. For example, a customer was yelled at in Chinese while waiting in the customer service line, causing embarrassment.
The store offers a wide variety of Asian groceries, including Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Filipino products. From fresh produce to packaged goods, the store seems to have a comprehensive range of items.
However, there are concerns about the freshness of some produce items. Customers have reported wilting leafy vegetables and wrinkled bell peppers.
The store is generally considered to offer reasonable prices. Many customers find the pricing for most products to be good, especially for Asian-specific items.
Some customers have noted that the prices for American products are higher compared to other items in the store.
The seafood section has received mixed reviews. While some find the variety satisfactory, others question the freshness and origin of the seafood.
The meat department offers Asian cuts, and the produce section has a wide variety of Asian vegetables. However, the freshness of these items is sometimes questionable.
Several reviews mention a language barrier with the staff, making it difficult for non-Chinese-speaking customers to communicate effectively.
The staff's attitude has been described as serious and unsmiling, which has led to a less than pleasant shopping experience for some customers.
The store's parking situation is described as challenging, especially during peak hours from 3-7 pm.
The store is located next to other eateries and shops, making it convenient for customers to run multiple errands.

One star is for the food selection because they have things you cant find in any popular store. However, this place is few feets away from my apartment so I usedshop once every couple months. first, the place is dirty. Their products are covered with dust and their baskets are too dirty and old. I always prefer holding things with my hand instead of using thier carts or baskets. Second, most of thier cashiers dont speak English and needles to say how serious they are. No smile! No hello! No thank you. Third and the most important, they have a trust issue with the customers. My mom went there to return a pan she bought because it was broken and while she was waiting on the customer service line, which is next to the door, one of the cashier ladies thought that my mom will steal the broken pan, so she started yelling in Chinese. Everyone at the store looked at my mom, and my mom was super angry. My mom returned the pan and never went to this dusty place again neither me.

I shop here from time to time when I feel like cooking Chinese or Korean food. Their produce is reasonably priced--their Asian vegetables are pretty fresh, but I dont buy non-Asian veges here. The meat department is ok if you want some Asian cuts. Their seafood selection is not bad, either. As expected, you can buy live crabs and live clams. Stay away from their fruits, unless you are looking for Asian-specific stuff like jackfruits or lychees. Lion stocks a ton of pan-Asian items. For example, their Korean buckwheat noodles are cheaper than at Kyo Po market. Overall, I recommend Lion City if you arent looking for farm-fresh goods.

The seafood is from Asian countries and not sure how old it is. Since its frozen, it looks fresh & firm. Some of the fish after its thawed, it stinks rotten. Initially this place was my go to place for fish. But now I prefer to buy frozen ones from Walmart. I like to get Chinese vegetables, coconut milk & noodles from here. They have a huge supply of Asian ingredients. Not a well kept place. The place is dirty, smells & too cold inside. I still go there, if Im cooking Asian food.

I love Asian Markets, but this one is questionable. I come here when I go to Taiwan Liu He Snacks next door. It looks old and unkept, smells funny, I sometimes wonder about the freshness of the products and the floor in the back of the store always seems to be wet. Not a place I like to hang around in for too long. Hmmmm, now that I think about it, it very much resembles alot of markets I visited while living in China.

I really wish if this place would not smell like fish all the time. But it is what it is. I will tell you that this place is one of the most reasonable grocery shopping places I have ever known. I like the variety of vegetables, meat, noodles, liquor, other packed food items, groceries etc. they have included in their inventory. This place might smell like fish but it really carry fresh seafood and fish.

I like Lion. They have great prices for much of their produce, but Im not always happy with the freshness of some items, such as their green beans. They have a fantastic selection of rice. as well as ingredients such as soy sauce, vinegar, gochujang, etc. They also get tofu every day from the San Jose Tofu Company.

We went to Sichuan Chilli next door of Lion Market. We ordered shredded chilli cabbage and salt pepper ribs. The chilli cabbage was amazing, but the ribs were not as flavorful, kind of meh. The floor was a bit slippery, so be careful! The bathrooms were surprisingly clean.

The stores has different varieties of things but they raise the prices for american products. I dislike the customer service. Every time i go there the workers in the front never smile, or say anything to you they give you bad attitudes if you ask them anything

Good place to pick up Asian groceries. Pricing for most of everything here is good. You will lots of ingredients for Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Philipinno cousins and delicacies. Parking can be dicey from 3-7 pm as people go out to shop for foods.

Just OK. They have a guy in the fresh meat section that doesnt listen to the customers. Assumes he knows everything and not accommodating. Asked to see a piece of meet below the one he was holding and flat out said no. Would recommend Ranch 99.

Pretty big sized pan-Asian grocery store. Has a nice selection of fresh produce some that was pre-bagged for your convenience. Clean uncluttered isles, accepts credit card. Every time Ive looked for an item given specific brands its been here.

Hey,lions is really cool. You can always find really interesting stuff at great prices. & they have a cool fish market in there, not much variety in a regular supermarket. & if you like Asian food, its a must to go to!

Nice sized Chinese market in the area. Its a typical Asian Supermarket with a bung of meats, vegetables, and various Asian items. I even found the Taiwan hot cereal I was looking for in regular and chocolate flavors.

Good location, reasonable price, You can find most of the Asia grocery here, but unfortunately the vegetables and fruits are not very fresh and one more thing is hard to communicate with the people who work there.

Lion Food Center has decent selection, good price, but their produce section is the worst Ive seen in terms of freshness. You often find wilting leafy vegetables and wrinkled bell peppers.
