Frank Martinez, along with his staff, went above and beyond the call of duty for this one! Ive owned computers of one sort or another for twenty years on three continents, and without doubt, this is the best service I have ever received. I had two weeks to go before returning to the UK, and my motherboard went south. Unable to guarantee receipt and installation of a new motherboard in time for my journey, he offered me a replacement, and when the replacement didnt measure up to my previous laptop, he refunded the money. But before we got there, Clifford Swall, the service-with-a-smile guy, checked out my laptop (I thought it was a virus) and did a full diagnostic. When he came back to me, it was with the bad news - "Your motherboard is not a motherboard anymore. Did you drop it?" (Well, yes.) "And we probably wont be able to get you a new one installed before you leave.. But the good news is that well replace it." Of course, it helps that the Microsoft Store offers the best insurance in town. It doesnt matter what it is - you dropped it, you have a virus, you have no idea how to work the thing - insurance covers it all. Well, worth the investment. Every other insurance Ive bought through the years (and I do believe that computer insurance is vital - has been either the hardware or the software, not both combined. Then there was Michelle Willard, the assistant store manager. She showed me around the store, quickly finding possibilities that might fit the gap. And then she ordered one, and it arrived, and it wasnt quite what I needed - no backlit keyboard. "No problem. Well find another solution." Unlike some, I have never had an issue with Microsoft (Well, apart from the fact that until I got used to it, Windows 8 got me out of my comfort zone). The laptop and software combined did everything I needed. Im a writer and I use imaging software to illustrate my writing. My little Acer provided it all. It was light - easy to carry, fast, and Im just sorry that they werent able to replace it because it was out of stock. I would advocate the Microsoft Fashion Valley store if youre looking for a laptop/phone/tablet/3Dprinter. Yes, I said it! 3D printer. How can you beat that?

The Microsoft store is a PERFECT 180 from the Apple Store. When visiting Apples stores, different locations same awful service. We spoke with several staff at the Microsoft Store on several different products and services. From the X-Box to laptops to Windows Mobile devices. Every person was helpful and knowledgeable about Microsofts products and services. With X-Box we got to try the new Kinect system. Like a Wii but with no remotes, it scans the player and then all your motions are translated onto the character on the screen. It was quite an advanced and amazing system, with Wii I always feel like a dufus jerking around the little baton. No of the sales people were pushy in presenting anything. I hate when you go into a store and all the salespeople want to do is close you and get you to a register. There is also all kinds of high-end tech toys that I could never afford but fun to play with... similar to Innoventions (sponsored by Microsoft) at Disneyland. Now if there were only a store closer to home... well how about it Microsoft, build more stores.

I went into this Windows Store today with my Surface Pro 2. My power supply had stopped working and I needed to know if it was just the power supply cord or if it was my computer. Regardless, I needed something to be done today as I explained to the sales representative that I started an online class yesterday and have an 8 page paper due on Saturday. The sales rep would not help me stating that I needed an appointment with a technician. So, I had to wait over an hour for a "technician" to pull out another power supply cord and plug it into my computer and say its your cord and we do not sell that cord anymore. Then she tried to find it online and told me that they no longer sell it online either. Her only solace was that I could order it on Amazon and sign up for prime for faster shipping. That does not help me today and frankly her lack of empathy or problem solving skills were incredibly discouraging. Needless to say, I will never be going to that store again.

I was put on hold by Jay, who did not tell her name when she picked. I had to ask her two times what her name was. She put me on hold for 15 minutes and came back on the phone and asked me what was I looking for? I told her the product name and was put on hold again. I was transferred to yet another unpleasant employed Tisha. Who picked up the phone line and asked me what I want. No greeting, not saying her name same as the first employee. When I asked the availability of the item. She was shouting around asking everyone about the item and laughing. Where is the professionalism? Why are they not saying who you are speaking with? No wonder Microsoft stores are empty, while Apple store filled with happy people. I do not recommended anyone deal with these two unhappy people.

The store layout is beautiful, the screens along the walls allow direct targeting and advertising. The new tablet seems awesome. But the stuff stunk. I had a simple question for the manager that the employees could not answer, and they were in meeting for the next "hour". I came back two hours later in order to give sufficient time and they now did not have time for me? The store is more than half empty, with employees standing around. Compared to the Apple store, they are not busy. Nonetheless, i was still interested so I cam back a week later, still to busy, and the employee was rude. So i called, employee was super sweet, said she would email all managers with my contact. Never received a call. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

The cashier told me to leave after my purchase. My Microsoft phone was not charging so I went to this store to buy a new cable hoping this would fix the problem. When I arrived I wanted to test the display cable to confirm my phone was fine and only the cable was not working. Security assumes I am trying to steal so their escort me out. I show them my phone and cable and explain. They let me buy a new cable but when I ask for an outlet to test that my phone charges before I leave they say no. Now that they have my money they wanted me to leave without confirming my problem was solved. I will be avoiding this store and mall.

After going through 1 Macbook and 3 Sony Vaios (in less than 5 months), I thought I was cursed. I went to the Microsoft Store because they offered a student discount, and because a couple friends bough laptops there. The entire experience was excellent. The store atmosphere was light, bright, and friendly. The sales reps and technicians were tremendously helpful, fast, and NOT pushy at all. They were able to help me pick the right laptop, they were honest about the models, and they helped me find the right discounts to save money. I would highly, highly recommend trying them out.

My xbox one had an error message and i put off going to get it repaired as I just knew it was going to be frustrating and make me mad. I was right and wrong. I first went to a repair place which said it might be under warranty, so I contacted xbox and they confirmed it was, and referred me to the store in Fashion Valley. I had been running around all day so was very happy that they could see me right away with no reservation and handed me a new machine in like 10 minutes. The staff was polite and really helpful. I could not have had a better experience on the Microsoft end.
